Arizer Solo

Left button stopped clicking. It's still working but is it going to quit on me? Wondering if I should start looking for a replacement.

Not a good sign. If it is indeed the switch itself, it will work with a mushy feel but could become very intermittent. More for "phantom" contacts. Warranty is the solution for this.
Another possibility is there is some residue around the button itself, causing it to be sticky and not free to pop so to speak..?
Either way, a good example of the necessity to have a backup vape.

I have 3 Solos and an Air. I couldn't resist the Air when it came out. I bought a second Solo so I wouldn't have so much wear and tear on the one unit. I have an older model Solo that's the 2011/12 model that I don't use.

I have 2 Airs and 1 Solo, and def another solo in my future. Like @CarolKing said, reduces wear and tear, as well as gives you plenty of depth. I personally like the way the Air feels in my hand a bit better, kinda like a cigar if I want it to be, but sometimes I just love the "beer can" ness of the solo - heavy, solid. Both so awesome!

I broke my arizer air stem witht he black tip.
It was my favorite, then after that was the bent stem.

I wonder.... if theres anything out there that can make level 7 smoother without much. Alright got those little bubblers. but theyre jjust okay. plus i want something more portable than that.

Planet Vapes 18mm water tool adapter can be mated to a silicone whip and cut to any desired length for cooling. For me it is easier to transport and not nearly as prone to breakage. Downside the adapter is a bit pricey and the silicone tube is not your standard whip tubing. However well worth the effort in my opinion.

It's been done (hasn't everything?). Early on I put my first Solo in a jar with the stem through the top and pressurized the jar with the pump from my HA 2.2. It works, but IMO the HA does a better/easier job of it as long as you need 'plug power'.

That is fine to use it that way if the air flows good enough for you. Pulling it out a little will give more flow for easier draws. Tipping(rocking from side to side) or rolling in a circle works too.

As the Doctor said, this is normal. As the stem seal 'breaks in' it will become easy and natural to tip the stem, raising the edge just enough to let the volume of air each user wants get by. Some rise it up, but I think most of us end up being 'tippers'. IMO a neat feature.

Resting on the bottom is just fine, part of the design in fact.

PVHES eliminates (or much improves) this issue with the notches and grooves milled in.

The red rings are not intended to address this (rather the bent stems rotating....).

Enjoy your Solo as you wish, it's a good 'un.

Trying different stuff. Nugget technique with bent stem, and some bud that's at 62RH. Seems the right RH helps the nugget tech for me. Great hits, zero work, tiny nugget. I'm loving this thing more and more. Gonna try with another stain, and in the AA.

Trying all my different strains with nugget technique...
gonna dump all semi spent nuggets into a small bowl and crumble, and try and revape.

Loving the magic flight micro grinder with the solo. Grinds it up so damn fine I feel like it increases the size of the clouds. More surface area to vape. Or something like that

Assuming you meant "1/2 ID x 3/4" (not 1/3) yes either should work. Same ID (where it counts) different wall thicknesses. 1/16 or 1/8 inch. I generally find the thinner wall stuff easier to work with, especially for whips. No need to fight the tube.......

Maybe I should have, although I generally don't do videos and few stills at that. The jar I used is long gone, but could easily be redone I suppose. IIRC I used a plastic jar with metal lid........

FWIW I even thought about using a pair of old style mechanical camera shutter releases to push the buttons which lead to an idea of putting the jar in a backpack with flapper valve and jar of activated carbon vapor absorbent. It would have a tube like those hydration packs. Once you started Solo up (pushed both plungers the pushed the up one to the desired range) you'd suck on and exhale into the tube like you were drinking......no sound, light, or vapor......

I never grind, longer flavor but less clouds.
All SOLOists should try all the different techniques.

This is probably for @OF, but I will ask everyone.

I have a Solo I purchased in Jan 2013. I replaced the battery with a higher capacity battery that I bought from Planetvape in December.

I never really payed attention, but I realized I am Charging my Solo as often as my Air. Today I decided to pay attention and got about 7 sessions before I have no more battery lights.

Does the Solo have protection allowing me to continue to use it without lights or will that kill the battery?

Is there any way to "calibrate" the battery meter?

Without knowing what conditions about having 7 sessions, (temp, back to back, packed, ect,) I'd say your not too far off with the number 7. Are you getting 7 sessions with the Air? 4 is more typical?
Yes, the Solo has protection to NOT allow it to be used with low battery. However, continuing to try will drive it down more. The circuits still need to analyse the voltage and such before shutting back down. Batteries do not like being this low so charging should be done ASAP.

With the solo I start on three and typically finish on five. With the solo I usually use a PVHES turbo Gong and my f bomb which basically finishes the stem without going too high on the Temp.

Sessions are never back to back on the solo.

hmmm....

I like the vortex stem from Planetvape. It cools the vapor and you can hit those high temps. It's about an inch longer than the stock stems. There's a vortex pocket between the bowl and the air path. It's also very easy to draw from with the added air channels along the sides. It's part of the PVHE stem accessory lineup.

It's also more sturdy with thicker glass. While warming up it takes an extra minute, but that's ok.
