Yo guys, been lurking for almost a year now, decided to finally make an account and post. In my setup right now I'm using a solo, one of Ed's stems (fucking love his stems btw), and a knock-off FBomb from DH Gate. I'll prob end up making a sesh video when I get back to help some of the newer users.

Currently in my 2nd year of uni (semester over in 3 weeks woop woop). If it wasn't for you guys, I'd still wake up every morning struggling to get out of bed because of my depression. Ever since I started vaping (~10 months ago), I've been able to get up instantly, get to morning classes on time, and focus on studies. I even made the dean's list last semester (hopefully this one too). Glad to finally join the FC family.

Gonna treat myself to a bigger water piece for having a good academic year, a couple of months ago I had decided on the d020-D if I was to ever upgrade from my FBomb, but times are always changing. Is there any glass better than the d020-D for both its quality and price?

-Q
You cannot go wrong with that peice. It has pretty good amount of diffusion if you're into that. I use the D020. Its smaller than the D020-D and has less difussion. The taste is great. I go as low as 4 with my D020. Nice big clouds. :2c:

I'm curious. The way I thought I'd use the Solo is quite different from how I actually use it. My perception was that you'd put the material in and then leave it running for the next 12 mins, having a toke whenever. What I find I actually do, is end up doing between 1 and 5 (usually 2 or 3) big drags (20s+) in the first 6 minutes or so.

My favourite temp settings are 4 and 5, although sometimes lower and sometimes higher with a bubbler. I find that by this stage the bud is well toasted; dark brown and popcorn-y. Mind you I grind my stuff, so that could obviously speed up the cooking. I've never once run the Solo for a full cycle, apart from burnoffs for cleaning. It's always too harsh and flavourless by about the 6 minute mark for me.

I'm happy with this method of vaping, but I'd definitely love to hear how you use your Solos to change up my technique, perhaps. Are you able to last the 12 minutes? Do you have smaller drags? Use whole nugs? Lower temps? Do you change the temps during? Anything you've tried with it I'd like to hear about :)

I gotta admit my Solo has stopped my VAS dead in its tracks (though still looking for more accessories :D). Solo is exactly what I want in a vaporizer (taste, efficiency, reliability, long battery life, etc.). I'm sure there are more expensive vapes that beats it in a few departments but best all-around vape imho. Enough fanboy comments for now :myday:. Happy vaping!

Amen, it can sure do that, can't it? IMO a superbly designed tool for making vapor. With solid design, long life, excellent service support and low cost. Tough combination to beat for sure. It's brother, Air, offers a slightly different set of compromises (less sessions per charge, easily changed battery, less functions, smaller size and so on), if you like one you're probably going to like the other. But IMO the differences are really pretty small compared with other vapes.

Many of us have several, there's a clue there.......

Keep after the accessories angle, icing for the cake?

Enjoy your Solo, that's why you bought it, right?

Cheers dude! Haven't really looked into the Air but I've heard good things. Arizer can't be beat with reliability. Any fav Solo accessories you can recommend?

If you are interested in using a water tool you may want to look on Planetvape for a GonG. You would be looking for an 18mm for the D020 Bubbler. It works well with the Solo.

DHgate online sells the D020 bubbler for a low price. They sell several other glass pieces too. No sense in spending $100s of dollars for expensive glass. What happens when it breaks?

When looking on Planetvape check out the Vortex stem. I really like mine. I've been using it most of the time while I'm using the Solo. It is an inch longer than the stock stem.

It's always good to have a wooden stem too. Check out @Ed's TnT, he makes beautiful pieces. I have a 3 inch WonG that doubles as a mouthpiece or WonG. It has a turquoise inlay.

EDIT
Welcom aboard the FC family @.Q

Many vaporizer enthusiasts have haughtily debated this question. Who would win in a fight, Arizer Solo or Han Solo? Today we answer this question once and for all. Let's begin with their past history.

Han Solo started out as a smuggler, making his name on the manufacturing planet named Corellia. He was orphaned early in his life only to be taken captive later by thePirate Garris Shrike and made to serve on his dubious crew. This provided Han Solo with all he would need to eventually captain what is widely considered to be the fastest ship in the galaxy, the Millennium Falcon. His hard fought life and well deserved fame bodes well for him in this battle of the titans. His largest advantage however remains his undeniable charm and good looks.

The Arizer Solo on the other hand is a much different story. Born of an aluminum outer shell to protect it's immense heating element from shock or in this case the The DL-44 blaster pistol wielded by Han Solo, Arizer Solo is capable of resisting significant damage. The Arizer Solo much like the Millennium Falcon has also been described as the fastest vaporizer in the galaxy. With the capacity to vaporize all of your herbs at light speed. Arizer has been outperforming competitors for years and has a history of winning so ego could be an issue. Most analysts also believe that the Arizer Solo's compact size and extreme portability would prove difficult for Han Solo to deal with having been accustomed to fighting larger opponents. Being discreet and quick on the move has always been one of Arizer Solo biggest strengths and will continue to be one here. Arizer Solo was born in Canada located in the Milky Way galaxy, Han Solo on the other hand was born on Corellia in the year 29 BBY.

Now lets look at some stats:

Han Solo: Species: Human vs. Arizer Solo: Species: Portable Vaporizer
Han Solo: Height: 6 feet 1 inches vs. Arizer Solo: Height: 4.5 inches
Han Solo: Weight: 176 pounds vs. Arizer Solo: Weight: 0.4 pounds
Han Solo: Skin Color: Light vs. Arizer Solo: Skin Colors: Silver & Black

Right off the bat we can see that Han Solo has a significant size advantage. Vegas would tell you that the sheer power and weight of Han Solo would be overwhelming for the smaller and lighter fighter Arizer Solo. But what the experts failed to take into consideration is the incredible charge Arizer is capable of holding. In some circles it has been said that Han Solo would probably gas out after just one session. In contrast it has been proven that Arizer Solo is capable of vaping for hours on end and going the distance in multiple vape sessions. If the Arizer Solo was able to make it past the first round, my bet would lean heavily in Arizer's favor.

Many experts still remain divided on this issue but we have ran the stats, looked at all possible data and come to a decision. Arizer Solo wins 62% of the time after simulating 1,000 different matches. With the majority of Han Solo's wins coming by way of Chewbacca stepping on Arizer Solo in between rounds we estimate in a fair fight that Arizer Solo would be closer to a 7 to 1 favorite.

Partial to the past I savor a session like a fine pipe. Fill the de-volumed stem (has eBay dome screen) usually with a known profile plant, then preheat at 3 or 4, dropping to 3 as the glass heats; unless I am rushed.
Then it is as many 12 minute sessions as provided by the plant's profile.
Great tastes as heating happens. Then long flavorful lung lingering 'elaxation until LOAD becomes ABV (which I toss).
When the vapor goes down the number goes up. Although I find that 'five' is a brief stop and I usually skip six on the way to cache at seven.
This can be 36 minutes.
It is a suitable retired lifestyle.

I keep the Pipes stand on my 2 Solos all the time. They are handy to have. I don't like seeing the bottom with the cracks and chips. It's great at protecting the base of your Solo. It's easy to bump the bottom and they chip easy for some reason. Maybe bad plastic that's brittle?

Hopefully the ones that folks are buying now may not have the problem.

Last week I received the PVHES Gong Turbo and the Vortex Stem and I did a few sessions.

The Gong Turbo allows a great airflow but delivers just thin clouds. I tried using it with a doomed screen and with high temperatures but I don't really like it. I prefer my 'standard' gong without the increased airflow instead. The clouds are just bigger and the sessions longer.

The Vortex Stem is really great quality, tick glass and perfect fit in my solo. Due to the ticker glass the stem needs a higher temperature to deliver good clouds. I kinda like it but it won't become my 'normally-use-stem' :D

I still like my straight special stem from vaposhop. It doesn't really fit in the Solo and the 'air-hole' gets pretty hot but it delivers great vapor

I bought stands for my old solo with the cracking base and also for my brand new Solo (prevent cracking).
I am leaving the stand on at all times, I like the feel of the Solo with it on. I do most of my vaping at home. I feel like I have a new vape!

Debating whether to get an F-Bomb, PWT, or Chinese glass to place on the Solo / accessory stand that I also got from @Pipes

The Mighty has a plastic air path the Solo has glass. I've never tried the Mighty. I've read through the thread, it looks as if the cleaning of the unit is a little more involved than the Solo.

The Mighty is also triple the cost of the Solo. I've been tempted reading through the Mighty thread in the beginning but I'm over it. I stopped reading when they started having some faulty units.

It's hard to justify that price for a portable. That's a lot of top shelf.
