If you feel comfortable you can remove the internals (although not sure if water would even get in there from the oven-again mine was submerged in water):
Make sure to be very gentle with the 4 screw holes they easily crack.
I agree, a splash in the top is unlikely to get in too deep (unlike flat out drowning it.....). You should not need to open it up.
To be very clear, the four screws above are the ones in the bottom (holding the works in the tube) not the four holding the oven in you see from the top.
