RE ; screens
These are still my favorite to use from the very beginning .
I will however , have to try @OF flame torch cleaning advice method .Even tho a 2 minute quick soak in iso works well , I find it helps in the deterioration of these screens . ie fraying and losing it's top-hat dome shape .

Couldn't agree more. Solo is generally a bigger hitter than the MFLB, and my preferred when stealth isn't an issue. But, hard to beat the MFLB for those stealthy situations. It's small and easy to pocket and palm, and with a little practice you can make your exhale pretty much imperceptible.

When stealth isn't an issue and more than 20 feet away from an A/C receptacle, solo remains my first choice.
The SOLO is my driver!
The MFLB I gave away.
Favor is important for some!
500 screens for $10 FYI

With the Solo if you just want a few draws you can take the glass stem out of the unit for use later. You also can use a dome screen and just put a tiny bit of herb in the stem. The Solo is very versatile. No need to go back to the MFLB, each to their own method though.

EDIT
Ordered 2 vortex stems.

I have 3 solo's and 2 mflb's (had 6 at one time)

I believe these two can live in perfect harmony together!

So I opened up the top of my friends solo and there was a white powdery looking substance that looks like massive corrosion. I remember seeing something about this before. Was this figured out? He said it has bad taste and I'd assume corrosion is dangerous to inhale. It's sort of ridiculous how poor this industries safety standards are considering it's for health.

Edit: Sorry not sure why this posted twice.

I sure don't recall such a report, does anyone else?

White powder makes aluminum oxide come to mind. What is corroding? I assume it's confined to the threads around the cap/body junction? The only other possibility I can think of is venting of the battery, something I'm sure you'd notice in lack of battery life? Can you please give a few more details?

FWIW I don't think this is any proof of poor safety. Given it's rarity (perhaps unique) and Arizer's excellent record on other safety related issues (material selections and so on) I'd consider them quite responsible. There are some questionable actors in the trade for sure, but IMO many put a very high priority on safety........including Arizer. Use of Medical and Food Grade materials (within specification) is really pretty common I think. Customers demand it and laws require it (even though much of the industry is not specifically regulated, normal protections (like no lead paint) still apply). Not to mention they 'keep each other honest' in this area, since they'd like nothing better than to out their competition.

Anyway, a few more details? TIA

That's done guys! I join the pack!
I pulled the trigger on the solo today...
To read a such enthusiasmic thread has convinced me.
I think the solo will find his place easily between my lotus and my mflb!

More restricted airflow and has thicker glass , keeping the heat more efficiently. I would not recommend as a primary stem, since the vortex requires you to "chill" on it (should/have to wait an additional 30-45sec when you start it up compared to other stems, and have to respect the 30~ sec in between hits ) thus making it not a stem you want to use when your on the go or in a hurry.

Looking forward to the shortie version of vortex, I have feeling the vortex will be much better/efficient with smaller chamber for the herbs. But can't complain, vortex is awesome and my favorite outside of my bubbler ofc ;D

If your friend has a Solo that continues to taste bad, I would think he should email the vendor that he bought it from.

I haven't heard anyone with a white residue problem in the oven or stems. This is a very well made vaporizer and Arizer has a stellar reputation. Even if you don't buy directly from Arizer you can email them. They will handle exchanges too. I would contact the vaporizer seller and get a replacement pronto. Always make sure you have proof of sale - keep your receipts.

The Solo has a 2 yr warranty, a one year warranty on the battery.

I got my 18mm shorty GonG from PV today.

So it looks like they cut the end of my shorty bowl crooked. I can see it slant when I hold it up. Anyone else own/get a GonG that had this?

Just got a secondary solo from Randy for $55 :). I was surprised when I got it because I wasn't expecting any of the accessories to come with it, let alone extra o rings and screens.

@sloth, where in the site do you look for the seconds?

Haven't seen one for the lowered price. TIA.:ko:

When available, they're on the "Last call" page:
http://www.puffitup.com/category-s/69.htm

They seem to come every few months and typically sell out very very fast. It'll probably be a while before the next batch (maybe not....), you gotta stay sharp and ready to jump on it.

No luck with the turbo GonG I bought from PlanetVape. I asked them about it not fitting into the Solo & they say that's Arizer's fault not theirs.
However they did give me some information on how to widen the hole in the Solo with a pair of scissors & hoped I found that helpful. I didn't.
I'm sure the majority of their GonGs fit but be aware. If you buy one of these you're purchasing an accessory that may or may not fit the device it is intended for & if it doesn't, that's just bad luck for you.
Anyway it's not a big deal it's only $30 but it's kinda turned me off PlanetVape & the Solo. I'll be doing my research before purchasing any future accessories through them.
On a side note the 14mm GonG I bought from VapoShop fits & works perfectly.

No but my stems all aren't perfectly flat where the rim of the "business end" is, it's not so uneven that I can see it with my bare eyes but if I feel around it or sit it against something flat I can tell. It needs the little bit of unevenness otherwise it would sit flush with the four air holes.

That's pretty stupid of PV. I wonder how Arizer would feel knowing they're telling people to physically alter the Solos to get it to work... in any case if you're ever in the need again @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd can work you up an adapter or something. He's good people and will make sure it works for you! Makes fancy octopus stems and other stuff too! Last 10 pages has recent super cool stuff. http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/joda-glassworks.13915/
