First off, I personally agree with you. I find I like the restriction of the 'old style' more. I don't doubt there are also guys who feel the other way, but after trying the new style I relegated it to standby status and went back.

As to the top issue on your old friend, you quit too easy. You've to the parts you need, swap the body tube over along with the cap that fits it. The 'bolt pattern' on the bottom is the same since it's fixed by the plastic chassis bottom.

So I've been vaping weed that's already been vaped because I'm outta fresh weed. It's not the greatest. All that yellow delicious honey inside my stem, can I poke a cotton or something through it (like from q-tips) and then vape the cotton?

My stem is REALLY gross. Like, there's so much little weed flakes in there it's hard to see through it.

Ohh I might make stem milk.

I see no reason not to. The condensate evaporated once before (it just condensed again), it should do so again when you vape the cotton. The bits of weed will get left in the cotton of course, after giving up their store of good stuff.

Nifae - I have been scraping that stem for multi different rewards since I started vapes in '11 - it's beautiful and teenie bits of plant matter not! - enjoy!

If you collect your trichomes in a grinder, like Zeus, you can make some nice hash by starting with that oil from your stem - I once collected 1.5 g. of kif in my Zeus alone and it's wunnerful hash!

I hope so too. You don't think the cotton could combust or the heating element could catch it on fire or something? I have screens so maybe I could sammich it between two screens?

Also uh, what's a good way of like scraping all the oil and stuff out if I want to vape it? How do I know if it's even worth scraping yet?

the cotton will not combust at the solo max temperature

So all I have to do is run a q-tip around the inside of my stem and collect the little bits of weed and the oil, put the cotton between two screens, and then just vape it at 7?

People vape with cotton all the time. I use cotton in another vape that I use regularly. It works well a spacer or to use with waxes and oils. There have been times I've used cotton because I didn't have a screen available. There is a sub thread vaping with cotton here on FC, check it out.

I'm new to the Solo and need a little help. I have a ROOR water pipe and am not sure what to get to connect the Solo to it. Any help would be appreciated.

First of all, please KNOW that it is worth scraping,
but there is no reason to be in a rush to remove it!

I'm a 70 year old hippie, but I only learned stuff about cannabis HEALING MEDICINE since '11, so ...
Nothing can hurt! I just would not eat the roots from an outdoor grow! -- that's the limit of my fear!

You can scrape with the spoon-end of a dabber tool or an opened paperclip, or ... i'm just sayin' ...
