I heard that was bad for the battery so I'm not gonna risk it.
Someone posted like a page ago and said I should charge it to full and then charge it for an extra 4 hours the first charge. :x

No. You do not. Most people dont/have not. Based on what OF just said, this is just to help ensure that you get maximum lifespan out of your batteries. It is by no means necessary.
FWIW I've owned 4 different Solo units and I've always just charged them to solid green.

@ataxian , Cool!! I think Spain is not the best place to surf but is ok; Algeciras , Tarifa , are nice places to surf , very windy, try if you can! about the food...mediterranean food ! One of the best diets!

They were OK and some were smaller than I expected. The D series bubblers I have had the best results so far. Let me know if you like the D020 - D?

Okay, thanks! I know it'd probably be best to give it the full time but I let it charge an extra two hours or so so far, which isn't bad! I am feeling kind of nauseous right now so I'm going to break into my lovely vape a little earlier.
I'm going to give it a full run at level 7 as instructed, then start off at level 4 with some greenery.
Also errm I can't seem to get the stem in the Solo? I'm scared to push on it. What if it breaks? It's the curved stem.

Okey. I'll start with that level. I gotta figure out how to get the stem in first. xP I'm just letting it run a full cycle on level 7 so it burns off any residue or whatever.

Inserting the stem immediately after your burn off will help since the seal is softer. It will take less force to insert, which is something new owners find disconcerting sometimes (the amount of force a new, cold seal takes).
Just make sure the stem is completely seated and you'll be fine.

Don't force it and break it like my dum ass did. Heat it up to 7, wait about 10 minutes, it should now slide in with minimal effort. After the first couple sessions it will slide in (giggity) much easier...

Okay my unit is nice and hot!~ I stuck the stem into it with a lot of force and jumped a little when it penetrated fully into it. I thought I had broke it for a second. Should I wait for the unit to cool down from its first level 7 run before I try a level 3?

When the unit is idle it will show what temp its at (lights will ascend slowly) Switch to desired temp and enjoy.

If there is no more smell from the initial burnout, as long as you don't burn yourself with the stem while loading it you can do back to back sessions.
It will also help with battery duration as it won't have to heat from cold again.
Also inhaling in your lungs is the way to go I think, you can't really hold a ~10 seconds draw in your mouth.
I vaped a few hits at level 3 and then level 4. Not a lot of coughing but damn my throat/lungs feel a little sore! I haven't smoked in 8 or 9 weeks to let my lungs heal from bronchitis. You don't think the vape will make my lungs bad again do you? Do you think 8 weeks was long enough?

We're told by the maker "no". There are basically two models in circulation, one that you can 'heat while charging and the older version you can't. All the new units available here been the newer version (which also has less draw restriction) for some time now. We have had members 'with the same model number report having either version.
Try heating while charging your unit, it's the only way to know for sure.
IMO if you have the older version it's actually a good thing. I think the battery life will prove longer (since the PA function is no longer available) and the original restriction favors sippers over cloud chasers. I have both. The newer one is a great vape, of course, and if it's what's available.....it's the one to go with.

LOOONNNG time Solo user, been using mine all day for over 2 years straight. Same one, works awesome.
I have a old one, got it not long after they ditched the ceramic, I think it's a brass bowl I have. Anyway I just broke another stem and while looking online found the "Newest Solo" on ebay for 129.
I had a few questions for the og's here who can help a long time user out;
a) Is the SS bowl an upgrade over the older ones?
b) Is there anything about the new models that is not up to par with the old?
c) has anyone gotten one from the ebay sellers? I usually get all my stuff from planetvape, but for that much of a price diff and free shipping, im feeling like ebay is the way to go, any thoughts?

No but I did give it 2 hours of charge and the green charging light was solid. The stem didn't fit at first but once warmed up in it went and the clouds were blown

b. Personal calls. It uses the battery differently and has less restricted draw for practical purposes?
c. Some have. The general consensus seems to be 'check to see if it's an authorized seller first'. PIU will price match from authorized dealers, or so the rumors go. Current price there is $160 shipped (with first rate support).

Ok cool, good to know about the non brass on mine. It is working as good as the day I bought it, So i think all i need is a few new stems. Edit- I ended up buying a new unit from authorized ebay seller. 128 out the door should be here at latest monday. I am glad to have my old one though as it will be back up, as well as sharing with others when guests visit

one more quick question- is there a consensus on how the best way to clean the heating chamber? I was foolish last summer I shoved melty hash into it and since then there is a thin layer of black on the bottom of the heating SS chamber.
