If your herb tastes too harsh go down to a lower temperature. You want to experience good vapor flavor.

NewYorkNativist, I don't know anything about vaping tobacco. Why don't you just start low and work your way up? Find what works best for you. Sometimes it's just trial and error.

While I'm not sure, I suggest extreme caution vaping Nicotine. Several times now I've watched guys try a puff or two with scary results. I've never seen anyone take more than two tries, and then only when the first was pretty lame.

To be clear, I'm not using liquid nicotine. I have loose tobacco much in the way I have loose weed. I saw where someone gave the information, but I can't find the page.

Also, if anyone else mixes a little tobacco with their weed, please give me any tips you have.

Understood.

As I said, I've watched 4 or 5 cigarette (and in one case stoggie) smokers try tobacco in a couple of my vapes Cera LL a few of times, Solo once and TVape (I think that's the name, it's out on loan so I can't be sure). In every case it took the user very much by surprise. None liked it, all had coughing fits and came up red faced.

The TVape (if that's it's name) is intended for the duty, as is Cera (I would assume Solo as well, but don't know that for sure).

Caution is still strongly advised. The temperatures used (your original question) were in the range one would use for weed.

I can't believe how massive the clouds can be after using bits of nugs (full stem) without a grinder, starting at temp 3 or 4, and then using a tool to crush up the bowl (reduces the volume by about 1/2), and then ramp temp to 5 or 6 and holleefukinsheet watch the massive clouds billow....obviously a bit harsher and not as tasteful as the lower temp virgin load, but what a surprise that was....I thought I actually combusted for a second, but the ABV was a nice medium brown.

I'm loving this Solo more and more, I really hope Arizer has something else up their sleeve around the corner as rumoured!

Yeah you need to be careful actually vaporizing tobacco, at least with e-juice/e-liquid the nicotine is measured out already, per ml, with no other tobacco alkaloids. Vaporizing it will give you a huge headrush, super easy to overdo it even when you do smoke tobacco regularly. Just a lot more nicotine getting released instead of burned away, you really might only need one pull to be satisfied/maybe too much. I would use a specific stem for just tobacco and one for weed since I like to scrape out the stem oil and wouldn't want it mixed with tobacco resin.

What version is this? If the above description is of an old version (where the PA is real) this is very serious and indicates at least two different problems in the Solo (failure to recognize the PA and not being able to function normally).

A bit more information, please?

TIA

Haven't been on for a while, is Arizer planning a new one? Thank you!

Rumors only at this point I think. And not too widespread.......still fun to expound on?

well this is the first i have heard of it but i guess it makes sense...the solo is pretty old imo

I'm not so sure about "pretty old". Not only did it just get an upgrade but sales are amazingly strong it seems. This is not the time to put it out to pasture.

"My rig's a little old, but that don't mean she's slow" as the man said. Screwdrivers, wood pencils and condoms are all very old tools (though not interchangeable), still widely produced and used in their classic forms. Old is not always bad, new is not always better.

Whatever happens, I sure hope Solo remains with us......at least for now? The free market is (and IMO should be) in control of such things.

^^very good point OF. After i posted that i went and looked at when the solo came out and was surprised it was in 2011. Personally i would love if they kept the solo out for a few more years first seeing how i just now got the solo hahaha. I have a problem with wanting the most up to date thing. That being said I'm very sad a new macbook pro is coming out next month because my retina will be considered "outdated". such is life with technology i guess. I remember reading somewhere that even the most advanced computer today is outdated a few months in the further.....anyhow......cant wait for my solo! my iolite is on its last leg. Started acting funny the day after i ordered the solo. I may have to combust for a little while.

I'm sure the Solo will be out for a long time. Newer isn't always better. Being the first person on the block to get a newer model vape doesn't always turn out with a happy ending. You need to do a lot of research before buying a new vaporizer.

Your health and your pocketbook is at risk.

So it fails to recognize the PA and automatically go into PA mode? And it also won't run on what you think are correctly charged batteries? These two happened at the same time?

Sadly, I think you're SOL. It doesn't sound like a battery or other simple problem but some hard fault. I'm thinking this is what you see with a failed heater/temperature sensor?

Perhaps some other member has some useful insight?

Thanks for the additional information. Sorry I've got no quick, easy fix. At least not yet.......

I learned that lesson with the ascent..(i was part of the first shipments)..but it was a lesson well learned.
I have read of people complaining about the shut down time....12 minutes? saying that the solo will shut down mid session. Im confused because the shut down time is supposed to be idle time correct? 12 minutes of sitting on a desk means auto shutoff? So the solo should not shut off in 12 minutes if you are moving it around?

I have a old model SOLO.
I've dropped it so many times.
Can't kill it?
I'll buy a new one when this one dies I guess? However it may last a life time?

So cheap!

I'm having a quick Solo session with some Blue Dream before my doctor's appointment. :)

Good call. You should bring the Solo and some stash with you. Being a Doctor is very stressful you know...... You wouldn't like him keeping secret treatments from you, would you?

Good luck.

So the solo should not shut off in 12 minutes if you are moving it around?

edit-sorry for double post.....

No. It has no way to know you're using it (or are even alive.....). And it's not idle time. It's 12 minutes from when it was powered up. If you let it sit for say 4 minutes before you turn up the heat and start hitting it you're going to have a 8 minute session instead.

Double posts happen. The normal drill is to edit them together (I use the first post to build on), then use the report function (rat yourself out.....), only the Mods can delete the second post. I suggest editing it (the extra one) to 'please delete' to make it as easy as possible on our overworked Mods.

12 minutes from when it turns on, regardless of how you move it, or if you change temps. it has no gyro sensors so it wouldn't know where it is.
