Arizer Solo

Hi guys.
Has anyone noticed a difference in heater sizes between the old and new models?
I have the bent stem from my new model (already broke the straight 1 :( ) which fits snug as a bug in a rug in my M1T however..... the same tube is about .5mm to big for my older M107 which leads me to believethe newer model heater must be slightly larger than the older models???
Anyone agree or am I just to solo'ed :D again

Actually the opposite , for me .
Real easy fitting with the old one , and I have to nudge/wiggle it
in the new Solo . Go figure .

I've posted a link for this glass thread before , but now he's making something very interesting and worth trying in the Solo . What do you
think ?
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/j...d-other-accessories.13915/page-18#post-609752

Exactly my thoughts when I saw it .
No need to make the curved bent stems for the Solo anymore .
This acts like a bent stem , BUT with a carb .

Hey V&C , Can you make the carb end hole smaller , so one can just cover
it up with a finger ?

This would be New for the Solo Club , for sure !

Love the Solo. I just wish there was some sort of accessory to make packed stems on the go a possibility, without any herb falling out. Any ideas?

Well so much for just jumping back into this thread to catch up...its now 500 pages later! Too daunting a task I fear.

So I'm hoping that some kind soul can answer my basic question. Which is: would it make more sense to attempt to replace the battery on my original Solo (Ceramic and/or its exchange replacement...something like 3 or 4 years old...model numbers no longer visible) or just go ahead and get the latest model, which, I assume, must have had some improvements over the last several years? Ideally that kind soul has both one of the newest and one of the originals too. But any kindness appreciated.

Much obliged.

Yes hello, this mod is actually quite easy to achieve but you'll need to have a little pokey thing around or a small pinky: place a 1/2" screen on top of the load. The rim of the stem where you put the goodies in has a lip to it, once the screen is below that lip it stays in place. Screen on the bottom against the 4 holes (if you slightly dome it then you can go longer without having to clean the screen), then your flower, and then a screen on top of that under the lip. Nothing falls out!

Spend the ~$35 to buy a new replacement battery pack for the old Solo! If the only thing wrong with it is the battery, it's good to go. In fact in the whole part of the thread you missed, we discuss how the "new charge-and-use" Solos seem to be failing a little earlier and a little more than the "old use or charge or use a different cable for PA" Solos.

I know exactly what u mean about the variants in the stems. I have a few stock stems and all fit well in both units except the new bent 1, and I suspect the broken straight stem would have been the same.
I have even dismantled the M107 , taken out the factory o-ring just to make sure and the stems wont even fit into the heatr without the ring???
The stems that came with my M1T were considerably different than any other stock stems ive ever seen. Larger bowl by about 1/3 and it it extending another 1cm before tapering off into the mouthpeice.

Conundrum :bang:
I persoannaly saw many pv oem str8 stems and 1 pui oem str8 stem. 1/3 larger bowl size seems like my observation on the pui one.

I used a 2014 model for a couple of weeks. On the same temp level, I would get darker abv than my may2013 ones. Like if every level was 5 degree celcius more. But someone (OF I think?) mesured the temps on the older and 2014 models and said they are the same. But I did get darker abv, so the newer solos must be a little bit more efficient then. Not sure if its worth 100$ more though.

Im thinking about it as well, but my vapepower.ca hc packs are still kicking. I still have time to decide

Maybe emptying the bowl in a small pocketable container and resucking it in later for 2nd use?

Or the best answer would be a high temp silicon cap. The ones pv have arent high temp. so you have to hold the stem a bit to cool it off before putting it.

Or pack a smaller one time bowl instead. My ease of use way.

I thought all solo infos came through you !? Guess it was an erronnous assomption hehe

I have to admit that for a while, I thought you were some kind of undercover arizer tech support. Passing for a passionnate solo user, you cover the "internet forum support" part of the arizer customer service. You are helping so much that this level of kindness could only be a paid one in my paranoid mind. This idea has now been rejected by my logic, but I entertained this idea for many months.

Now I see yourself as an exemple . I had to share my undercover arizer tech support guy paranoid hypothesis:tinfoil: someday, its done now. And I had to praise you someday for all the entertainment of the last year. Done too :)

They make caps for the Solo stem, I have a pic on the previous page. Also those clown condoms ( cut off balloon) looks great that macbill posted. A very good household vaping hint, low cost, handy and easy.

You'd think this too until you see the posts he's been doing in the ThermoVape Cera thread. Straightened me out on a battery issue (TV-recommended vs newer Sony VTC5) by testing it himself, made his own 510/power adapters for it. I wish I knew half of what he did! Plus, dunno how many companies can afford to send FC members free MFLB stems to our size specifications... Or recommending a VapMan when it's appropriate...

Fine ground material in a super reduced stem, at 7, only enough for one nice (huge) hit. Talk about THC rush

Ok so had my Solo for a few days now and I've pretty much been high for 3 days straight cause I got so excited and i didn't want to stop using it!
Already in love with this thing, the ease of use, the great flavour (been doing the bulk of the session on 4), and the fact that when I got it out my friends thought it had come from the ISS. Haha.

I searched for a kind of beginners guide but I couldn't find anything. So I'll ask, what are some 'essentials' I should buy to go along with this pretty new vape? So far all I have on my list is O-rings (stems are wobbly already).

Thanks for convincing me and for all the indirect help, very informative thread. So much worry over battery life though! Makin me paranoid about charging lol.

I like using screens with my Solo stems and you may want to buy a wooden stem for when out and about. Eds TnT is under vapor related equipment. He makes some beautiful pieces.

You also might want to buy a Water Tool. I personally only have one, but others have several different glass WTs. Dhgate website has some cheap pieces, so if you drop something you're not out $100 +.

just enjoy your Solo and don't stress out about the battery. There have been changes to the Solo, some are just trying to find out how it effects the battery. Arizer has a good warranty if you have any problems you can get a replacement. It's all good. There are many helpful and kind folks here on FC.

Glad you like the Solo. Quite natural to do so once you get one in your hands isn't it?

Sorry to tell you, 'wobbly stems' are normal. If you can't tip the stem a little the lip of the stem seals on the oven bottom and draw suffers a lot. The ring is really more to keep the bent stem from rotating under gravity. The maker considers it normal that stems fall out.

If you like the 'spacecraft' aspect of the Solo, check out the Vapman. A great vape in it's own right, it's always looked like a model of the Apollo Lunar Lander to me. With vapor out the top, of course.

Are you really going to make me spend more money?! It looks like a shrunken satellite and I might need it.

One more Q, by the end of a sesh it sometimes seems that the bowl is unevenly vaped - avb getting lighter as it gets further from the heating chamber. Am I packing too tightly?

I would check out Eds website and if you have any questions you could PM him. He offers free shipping in the U.S. Someone from Europe may want to chime in about that.

The wobbly glass stem aides in the ability to get huge hits, it's wobbly for a reason. It helps with the flow of oxygen when you 're able to rock the stem.

Always good to have a back up vape.

This kind of thing NEVER happens to me, but it did tonight!

I found a whole gram of bubble hash stored away that I completely forgot about!

I decided to try a teeny piece in my Solo. I sandwiched the teeny piece between a bed of ground herb so it wouldn't be touching any part of the Solo or Ed's stem. It worked perfectly, and holy crap, talk about clouds! :o I have been able to get clouds from my Solo, but these are the biggest I have seen so far. I know I will get several sessions from this one piece too. Boy did I NEED this!!

Sounds like it. My material when I pack it right (not too tight, not loosely) is evenly vaped, even at level 3, after a full 12. I believe it was vapefiend.co.uk that was being repped hard a few pages back, I know he's one of Ed's overseas dealers... looks like vapefiend currently has 3 different wood selections for Ed's stems in stock.

Ed's been doing some amazing work as always, and especially lately with the inclusion of some turquoise inlays. Also they're tapered to 14mm at the end so they fit into a 14mm female joint.

edit: and since you're here, do you already have a JyArZ? Best container I've ever used to store my goodies!

Yes, Ed ships to the UK - I received one of his beautiful stems just last week.

And I agree with OF ...... you should really check out the Vapman!

mod note: Vapman posts moved to the proper thread.

As the person who introduced OF to the Solo I can attest that he is not a shill for Arizer. And you'll find him in several threads here on FC sharing his extensive electronic/electrical knowledge to the benefit of all.

(See, OF, I managed to say something nice about you without biting my tongue all the way through!)
