Thanks man! Much appreciated.

Apparently, it's the cheapest weed in North America. Haha

By the way, I just broke my bent stem, Anyone know where would be a good place to buy one?

Thanks!

Go back to PIU or Planetvape.ca .
But you're correct about the taxes tho .
Maybe add some accessories to make it worth the shipping costs .
A vape case or PA , screens ...

EDIT ;

V&C is producing some amazing looking stems/gongs for the nano
Now he's going to make some Solo stuff . Go check out his thread and show some interest if you like .

Good first voyage gotlucy. You will enjoy your new tool and help mate.

I notice my older model Solo's battery indicator lights don't light up when I turn the unit on, before I set the temp. It shows the battery indicator lights when I charge it up. Bought it last July, I've used it a lot. Other than that, it works like a champ. Battery lasts around 45 min. with a charge.

I enjoy the 2 hour battery life with the newer model. Here's the Pinnacle Pro WT. It gets the job done new model Solo or the older model. It's $70 for the Pnp WT a little less than the F-Bomb. That's a shorty PVHES GonG.

Looking for a portable, and am about to buy the Solo. Any items I should grab while I am at it, from those out there with Solos?

I am using the 160 deal at Puffitup.com that comes with the TNT stem. I am also going to purchase the car charger. Seeing as how the new model allows use while charging, the power adapter would be pointless right? Anything essential or a must have I should grab as well?

You don't need it. The PA charges the newer model Solo, it doesn't charge up to a solid green light. It charges up but slightly under a full charge. FCer member OF said that could be a plus because it's not good to charge up the Solos battery to a full complete charge. Slightly under a full charge is suppose to be better on the battery. I think it's a good thing to have an extra battery charger, but you don't need one.

Hi FC.

I just bought myself an arizer solo (!!!). Haven't vaped from it yet, but I just saw that my serial number starts with "M1B1". Beside it it says copyright 2011, patent pending. Is this an older model?

Its got a steel bowl.

I'm not sure about the model numbers of the arizer solos, but it seems like its a mess. So which one did I get?

(btw, i bought it used for 75$)

If you have a Solo that charges and heats at the same time then it's a 'newer' model.

See signature.

Lol, I just bought it today.

I can't just get high everyday, I've got a family, a job and work to do. I'll be vaping this weekend (and thats just 2 days away). I was kinda excited, wanted to know what I got.

Is a man not allowed to get excited about his tools?

And yeah, I kinda wanted to get an idea about what I just bought.

Is it a crime to geek out on gear?

Bummer.

Is that the only difference?

The airflow isn't as good on the older versions.. there's a number of other differences (some that we're yet to discover I believe).

Uh... :hmm:

My post wasn't intended to be antagonistic. I gave you instructions on how to verify whether you have a new or old model, as well as telling you that the serial/lot numbers don't mean anything to us, because there are M1A1's that don't charge-and-use and some that do, I believe some M1C1's did and others didn't as well. There's no point discussing it because it means whatever Arizer wants it to mean that day.

You don't even need to use it to verify model number, you just need to take it out of the box and plug it in.

I never said you couldn't be excited and I tried to help you figure your situation out :|

Oh. Cool.

Yeah. Serial numbers are kinda a pointless topic.

I tried vaping it. I'm blitzed as fuck right now. Impressions:
lots of Draw resistance.
heat control's pretty neat

coming from the palm 2.0, I can see the point of having both.

Yeah seems like you got the old version.. Personally I prefer the new.. Some people on here claiming older models last longer.

Hello all,

I've had a Solo for close to 3 years now... I've used Ed's Wooden Stem with my water bong but I've replaced it with a newer one and I'm using this adapter...

http://www.vaporwarehouse.com/site/vaporbrothers-h2o-adapter-ground-glass-19mm.html

Can some one please help me out with the tubing size it uses so I can order some more... Thanks in advanced!

I am confused. Aren't all of Ed's stems taperd to 14mm? All I use is an 18.8mm to 14.5mm reducer and stick the stem directly in there.

Something like this:

Wow. Just got a new version last night and there really is a huge difference compared to the older ones.

So what's the best water tool setup to use with these new increased airflow Solos ?

And my power adapter seems to be charging it now as the blinking green light comes on ???

Sorry to disagree with you, but I think you've scored big time. You got what I consider the superior version (and I own both) at half price? What's not to like about that?

Newer is not always better. And customers are not always right, they just get to trump aces with their money. The much maligned restricted airflow wasn't an accident, it's no doubt the result of some careful testing and IMO suits the vape very well when the cloud chasers are elsewhere.

And the 'inferior' battery management system (separate 'charge only') and (nearly pure) PA mode originally used is more complex (read expensive to make) and again serves a very useful intended function. What an Engineer, not a Salesman, would design. It protects the battery when in PA mode, something the 'use while charging' version does not do. The battery is 'worked' in such cases, putting miles on it. From an Engineering standpoint this will mean shorter battery life (earlier replacement) without a doubt.

If you want longest battery life the drill becomes much more complex. You have to avoid 'use while charging' as a routine thing, instead discharging down to 'one or no lights' before charging again and watch it to pull it off before it completes they cycle (while the charge LED is still flashing) and never leave it plugged in so it's 'instantly ready to go'.

Otherwise it suffers the same fate cell phones and laptops batteries show when left plugged in (and therefore completely charged). Avoid completely charged if you want maximum life, the battery will die quietly in storage at 100% charge.....which is why they ship to you 'half charged'......the Engineers know better than to keep them fully charged. I'm sure you know a cell phone or laptop that now has abysmal battery life and 'must be plugged in' to work? I predict lots of that with new version Solos a year or so down the road. Battery replacement and more care are the only fix here.

IMO you scored. Given to otherwise identical Solo's I'd advise the older version right now. I intend to stash my new one away and go back to the old style when I've finished playing with it. Might make a good loaner......

The airflow isn't as good on the older versions.. there's a number of other differences (some that we're yet to discover I believe).

Kind of subjective, I find the restriction better on the older version I think, but that's easily a preference thing. If you really want more airflow, the PVHES addresses this just fine IMO.

I'm not sure about other differences we don't know about of course, but strongly doubt there are any significant ones in there. We've beat it up a fair bit I think. Things like the beeps are now shorter????

Yeah seems like you got the old version.. Personally I prefer the new.. Some people on here claiming older models last longer.

I don't know how anyone can claim to know how they will play out, all we can do is make some educated guesses based on what we know. One thing that does seem to be happening is the newer versions seem to have more problems? I get it's anecdotal and all for the most part, and may be 'bad batteries', but many have noted it. While early problems seem to be pretty common these days, I think they were pretty rare with the older style?

I suggest the chances of getting to explore the warranty replacement process first hand is much better with the newer version?

It is what it is, I suggest the OP (and all other owners for that matter) enjoy the Solo they have and not obsess over the number on the bottom or what your neighbor has. The older version has an enviable and hard earned reputation for performance and value, IMO the new one will be doing very good if it can come close to matching it in the long run. Newer is not always better. How did 'New Coke' work out for you? Ignore the number on the bottom, enjoy the vape?

Regards,

OF

Yeah fair comments OF, I've hit both the old solo and the new solo and find myself much more satisfied with how the drag is considerably less on the new solo (though I suppose it can be considered subjective), it was my one major negatives on the original solo which Arizer took on board and improved imo. The other thing that really bothered me about the old solo was that I couldn't charge it whilst using it. So for me Arizer fixed my 2 main issues with the solo. I bought it with AustralianVaporizers and they are incredibly good with handling warranties as well. So i'm not too concerned if I run into any issues (though I haven't yet)

The old SOLO is a work horse in my case.
I use it the most even with my many options available.

Mine is all customized and I love it!

The 113 Seal (I haven't Broke a stem since I installed one)
PHVES for air flow issues.
I have the PA.

With the new one you might not need these upgrades?

My current SOLO may last 10 more years?

I wonder what a SOLO might be like then?

Your SOLO will be your life time friend regardless of when it was made!
You will enjoy your new tool and help mate.
