I can't really do that. I'm not in a MMJ state.

Condolences. Really shouldn't let an accident of geography interfere with what's right though......

Too bad, really, that only increases the chances of the good doctor having an opinion on the matter. Lessens the chances of my agreeing with him though, I bet.

Perhaps you're right, wait until after the bill comes to broach the subject?

Good luck with it at any rate.

BTW, on the cracked tabs issue? My new one came with one of them cracked for me (saves me the trouble I guess?), but in a strange way. The crack runs 2/3 of the way up the baseplate to the large hole nearest the charge port....... I saw the crack (or at least a 'funny line') on the bottom before charging, testing or touching the screws.

I used my newer Solo for a month without the "O" ring. I used the manufacturers' suggested method of pushing the black factory retaining ring back down by hand. I also had cracks around the screws.
I still think the "O" ring is not the cause of this condition as it happens whether the Solo had this mod or not.
However, sanding the "O" ring is a good idea, so as to no strip those threads on the aluminum cap.

I just got my Solo in! Woot! Now, when I fill the chamber on the stem, how many draws should I expect before it's used up? Also, do you find you use less herb than you would combusting to get the same level of high?
How many draws is very subjective.. Herb quality and strain make this vary greatly. Also, lung capacity....

Will you use less than combusting.. Almost guaranteed! My use is way less vaporizing, about 50% less.

Anywhere from 3 to 20? Like @DDave said it's dependent on a lot of things, the dankocity of your material, how much you added, how many hits at what power level, etc. I can nurse a full stem for a few sessions starting at 2 and moving up to 7 (with water past 5), or I can lay it down in a half dozen hits if I really try.

Easier to just say "I use X amount of herb per stem" at which point my stem loads would be around .05-.15g each.

Hey now! Dankocity! I like it!!!!!

In honor of the new-awesome word, brought into existance by @Quetzalcoatl, I'd like to propose someone (maybe Quetzalcoatl) create a bragging-rights thread entitled "Show Us Your Dankocity" in which one could post a pic of their most Dank!

All in favor, TAKE A RIP!!!!!

I'm in agreement with the Q Man, DD and DS here. It depends......

IMO a drop to something like 1/3 your former level will happen automatically when you stop wasting THC by heat in blazing. High temperatures are destroying the chemical before it can get you high. What a waste.

You need to put down the bong though. Strictly swear off blazing for a week or two and give your body a chance to recover some from the junk you've been feeding it. And let you brain break the link between the smoke and THC (you can get a buzz sticking your head in the campfire any time.....). After that, I bet you find like most of us smoking is just as repulsing today as it was when we learned to 'choke it back' to get high.

As to the Q Man bringing up dankocity as a factor, I think that's a big mistake. I mean just how many of us have our own Dankyometer? And how many of them are properly calibrated? Speculation......

Hi OF,

Just wanted to report I have one! Yeah, was difficult to obtain, expensive as all heck, very large and difficult to store/maintain, puts me on the FBI most wanted list and all that, but it's all worth it.... Oh, and by the way, I'm currently accepting all samples for analysis, concentrates included. Samples must be minimum of 1 gram to process successfully. Just trying to do my part!

I smoke intermittently, like every other week. I know there is going to be an adjustment period while I get used to the differences, hopefully I'll adjust quickly.

A lot of my questions will probably just take my own trial and error. Example, how tight does one pack the herb? I've read people laud both sides of the spectrum. How do I tell when the herb is done--its flavor? Harshness? I can't wait to experiment. SCIENCE!

You'll know when it's "done" it will taste like you're pulling hot air through cardboard, usually about 8-10 hits in, for me.

Hey I have been running my loads twice in a row! I fill the glass bent stem 3/4 and place it in the Solo when it is warming up to #4. I get a hand full of good vapor and it starts to taper off. I turn it off and give it one more draw. I then turn it on and set it to 5. I get a whole new session with huge vapor after it warms up again. Two sessions out of one load!

Basically run it that way too. Strait stem, start at 5 and up it to 6 at around 10 minutes and continue at 6 for almost a second time out.
Sometimes, if some honey from the stem makes it's way back to the load, can go even for a third.

I have notice the same results with my EQ. I put the wand in and the fan on 1. If I leave the ABV in the wand it will start to produce vapor. Start the party because its on for a hand full of nice hits. The honey from the wand is a plus but I don't think that it is the only reason for vapor when re heating. It's something scientific like uh....vapor? :science:

Is it just me, or does it seem that people begin having problems with the Solo after attempting to use it while charging? I have the ability to do that, but I think there is a link, so I have not.

I hope not because I was going to try using it while charging in a little while.

Now I'm leaning towards not doing it.

So, in addition to everything else you're a chicken???? JK of course, it's clear you've been smitten by Solo and wish to protect it at all costs. A quite healthy sign I think.....

I think the idea is worth looking into and my 'take' is any problems are covered under warranty......not that courting that is a good plan. There have been a lot of reports of 'battery problems', I wonder if it's related?

One thing sure, it's a feature many are looking for. If there's a problem we're much better off knowing sooner than later I think.

Another bit of information that may be part of it? I've been messing with charging from an adjustable voltage PA trying to get it to stop just before fully charged. It looks like 8.75 or so is the magic number. It stalls out at about 4.0 Volts per cell (or a tiny bit less), although charges at a slightly lower rate. Just what I wanted. But sometimes it won't start charging! Usually when the battery is pretty discharged I think. It draws about 10mA (just enough to light the LEDs) and sits there. If the battery is more charged (or the PA voltage is higher) it charges OK usually???

Much of the new version is still a mystery to me, too bad I was just getting a handle on the older version, or so I thought.

I can say that my friend rarely if ever used his while plugged in and it died after a few weeks as well. Probably just a bad batch IMO

EDIT: I think I saw @Caligula using his plugged in, in a video. Maybe he can let us know how his is running and how often he uses it plugged in?

The newer model that I sent back a few weeks ago I didn't use plugged in but maybe twice. It had a bad battery they thought. I was real careful with it and it didn't seem to matter. I don't think the 2 times I used it plugged in made any difference. I use my older model Solo with the PA when I want to use one plugged in.

The newer model I had, I used for about 6 weeks before it conked out. I also use other vapes, so I didn't use it constantly. I hope the one they sent me as a replacement works out better. The bottom at least hasn't started chipping. Hopefully Arizer is on the case figuring out what the problem is with these batteries.:hmm:

My Solo is my new daily driver now, and I use it multiple times daily. At least 8-10 sessions per day right now. It's really getting a workout. I hope mine doesn't decide to die.

Out of curiosity, do many people have more than one Solo so they can have a back up?

All these stories of cracks are making me anxious, can someone put up a picture of the cracks on their unit so I know what to look out for? thanks guys.

There should be some pictures in this thread, OF posted a solution (using different screws at the bottom then covering it with felt like material). Its an annoying problem and personally I think arizer should change the plastic. But it has 0 effect on function. From what I have heard most just develop a small crack near the screws and thats it; what happened to mine.

In few rare cases it gets worse

EDIT: @MGG there are some solo's posted in the classifieds right now with pictures of the area that we are talking about
