Oh, what? Puffitup price matches eBay? ...it's not advertised anywhere on their website that I saw.
Something I have noticed with my new Solo, which is the new M1T08: the stems are really loose.
The elbow stem in particular would definitely fall out if I turned it upside down.
I'm sorry you're disappointed you didn't know, but I don't think it's realistic to expect PIU to advertise that on the web page do you really? Isn't that inviting everyone to pay less by looking for the cheapest price posted on the web? Right now there's a scammer on EBay using a legitimate Dealer's graphics to offer them for under $50 each from Hong Kong, I'm sure Randy doesn't want to try to explain that to even more 'sharp buyers'?
Yes, there is indeed a lot of differences in stems. Larger and smaller is common, sometimes out of round. As has been said the maker does not consider this a problem. They are designed to 'break in' and loosen up more over time, they fully expect the stem to fall out if you turn it over. And have said so numerous times. Which is why, of course, so many of us use the rings (which must be cautiously installed). Arizer doesn't supply the ring on purpose I believe. PV does for reasons that suit them and their policies.
I suggest you first try using as designed and built. Give it an honest chance, despite your expectations. I think, like most of us, you'll come to appreciate it. Then, when you understand how it's intended to work, you can research and decide if you want to experiment with a 113 ring. Or PVHESs. Or GonGs........
Good luck with it, given a chance I think you'll be pleased.
Yup. You get what you pay for literally in this case. PIU FTW!
Good point, but in this case PIU provides a lot of extra benefits in addition to good prices. For instance excellent service and extras (I just got a nice 4 piece grinder with velvet bag and a couple dozen screens 'thrown in' with mine. Even more useful than the free chips from PV....which are also cool.
And I'm still amazed that Randy confirmed my order in an hour, shipped it out that day and it showed up at my house 25 hours after ordering to the minute, about 80 miles only, but it was the PO. And shipping was free.
All things considered I feel good about giving my money to Dealers like PIU, we need more supportive outfits offering us more choices.
