I turn my Solo upside down and give the stem a quick pull, then remove the stem while the unit is inverted. Sometimes I'll pack the stem and throw another screen in top of the material so that nothing can fall out. It's a bit tedious since you need something to remove the screen when you're done without touching the hot stem.

Yea i'm trying to get the full charge in (m1A4A), damn light keeps blinking green! I also noticed when I go to take out the stem a little material is left in the chamber, basically every time. This didnt really happen on the older two units. Hopefully it does not persist

A positive is on the m1e and now this m1A4A the stems fit really snug, almost eliminating the need for those PV o-rings

Understood. My advice is to keep after it, also there's the chance that one or the other of the cells in the battery pack is fungoo.

Not sure what to say about the 'only this one leaves stuff behind' part, but AFAIK the top seal and stems (which control fit) are still the same. All Solos (?) are tight at first, one of the ones I 'broke in' had me convinced it wasn't going to go at all at one point. Over time they all seem to loosen up (as the draw gets easier, of course).

I remain convinced model numbers are useless to describe one unit to another fellow. We have reports of guys with 'identical model numbers' that obviously have two different versions based on 'will it heat with the charger plugged in?' which seems the definitive test?

Good luck with it, you really should get on to the 'kick back and enjoy it' part......

Back to planet vape being out of glass. We talked about the stems from Epicvape fitting. I wonder if there GonG's would fit? I see no reason they wouldn't.....??????? Anyone????

@GetToTheChoppa That's GREAT. Now if we can figure out the routine it's following, we can start hacking them ;-) What's the microcontroller type? Do we have detailed photos of the circuit boards?
I took a couple shots a while back. Not very detailed so not sure if you can get anything from them.

There are some empty holes which could be a spot where an input port might be..? Too bad a schematic could not be had.
If I was thinking, would have noted the processor and prom type.

yea I always invert the solo when loading and removing it. Got the green light to go full green! so looks like i'm pretty good for now.
God those 4 holes of spiraling vapor is such a turn on

Ive been told its a battery issue as i had the exact same problem down to the detail. Lucky i bought it from puffitup.com, Randy is replacing the battery (free of charge and i'm located in asia)

Oh interesting, I wonder if it was my battery too. I'm presuming/hoping theyre just going to replace the whole unit, so I dono if I'll ever know. I wonder if it had something to do with the face that I didn't let it fully charge before using it? (Used it while charging)

Either way I could've just replaced the battery myself perhaps, tho that melty plastic taste really made me feel like I needed a new unit alltogether. Thanks for the feedback, let me know how yours works when you get it back and I'll so the same

Great news! In theory you don't have to do it again ever if you don't want to, but it should also be a lot easier.

Good to know you don't have a bad battery lurking inside it waiting for the best time to take a dump on you (these things are pretty smart you know......)

Time to start enjoying your purchase and getting to know your new found friend better....

I'm not sure what good that might do, the key would be to get (commented) code if you want to tinker it seems? Chances of getting that are only slightly better than those of getting the President's college transcripts I think.

If the goal is to hack into a Solo to see what can be done (IMO a fun idea.....), I suggest the right place is the oven assembly. Keep the oven, scrap the rest. The interface there is simple (two wires for thermistor temperature sensor, two for the heater). The rules there are clear and simple to deal with. You get to design the temperature control. Manual, microcontroller, or analog can be explored as they are done with Cera, Solo/Ascent, and Herbal Aire/'box vapes'. Replaceable battery and any charge or PA scheme you care for can be included with few restrictions.

IMO trying to crack and modify the Solo is not a good use of the effort, more can be done (and easier probably) with a more wide open approach. Including reshaping the package some if you feel like going that way.

Hi guys. I lurked around the forums awhile looking for advice buying my first vaporizer. I was having a terrible time deciding between the pinnacle pro and the solo. I finally made up my mind to buy the pnp; luckily, I read the last several pnp post about cracking and other problems and decided to go with the solo. I bought it from puffitup and got it this morning 2 days later. It shows a full charge after an hour charging. I am planning on using it tonight. I just wanted to say thanks to all who have posted on both products, your insights have been awesome. Another note - I ordered the solo and received my tracking info about 15 minutes after my emailed receipt. I don't know if I have had anything shipped so quickly. I was going to order from ebay, but heard to many good things about puffitup - apparently they are true. I am new to vaping and this forum, but if like great customer service and fast delivery, definitely check them out.

The Puffitup guys are awesome! I had an ordering snafoo....all my fault and they fixed it before it shipped. Then added another order at a discount and still it will be here two days from order. Randy and the crew are awesome. You could save 20 or 30 bucks on fleabay but what happens when they are not there anymore. Some are having good service from fleabay but for a few dollars more I have peace of mind and helping a friend of this forum. In the long run with the discounts on the other items it was less expensive than fleabay!

So I found an old tape recorder AC DC adapter that say 6v 200MA or 7.5v 100MA. The plug was too big for my solo so I took my old psp plug, sniped it off, sniped off the plug that was too big and replaced it. Is this safe with my solo? I have the M1E, which I can use while it's charging but I don't want to do that, I want power mode only no charging at all. The stock charger I can plug in and turn the heat up and the charging light will blink green. With the charger I made, when I plug it into the solo it turns on and the green charging light starts to blink but once I turn the heat on the charging light turns off.

I just want to use the power adapter only, I don't want to fuck my battery from the solo trying to charge every time I use the power adapter. Makes me miss my magic flight's power adapter it worked so well.

Waiting to pull the trigger for $126 "newest model" assuming and hoping this is m1e1, from vaporseller. would appreciate anyone's thoughts on whether or not to wait for improvements/next best vape/price drop, or is this price/quality going to stick around for a while. I am not able to consume vapor until the end of may, but I thought this deal was to good to miss out on.

Just got mine in today. 2 day shipping from Cali to WI, can't get much better than that! I received the M1a4a model and purchased it from Puff it Up. Can't wait to fire it up this evening!

I am a noobie here but have a lot to say. lol Cosmos If you are only buying the Solo with no extras and really need to save 30 bucks then go for it. If your going to buy a few stems and maybe a EdsTnT stem or a few other goodies then I would email Randy at PUI. You know the old saying you can lead a horse to water.....not trying to be a smarty trying to be funny. But seriously that's what I did and I know I got a great deal and I have peace of mind if something goes wrong.

Welcome to the fun.
I'm afraid that supply is away too weak. The absolute minimum current needed is 2500 mA. Over 3 amp is best.
The new models have had reports of the "true PA" function no longer works and the charging is always engaged. However, we also have reports of earlier (new) units that charge and vape DO also still go to "true PA" when 7.5 - 9 volts are applied. Since this function is kind of blurry at present more input is really needed.
Have you not tried your PS1 supply? I thought it had some good results as well as some not so good. In fact I think there have been some reports of the supply over heating. But if you already have on hand,? Just be cautious of the polarity. I think it is reversed in the PS1.
Good luck and have fun.

Should be PS2 Slim power supply, that's what I'm running my Solo on and nothing gets warm except the Solo.

Hey just letting you know the new batch of solos are shipped with a straight stem that is a tiny bit wider than the original stems. Randy said Arizer wanted to fix the loosey goosey problem

Guess I got to order one as a back up anyway

So only the straight stem is larger? Should I use the bent stem until it loosens up and then go to the straight?

That doesn't make a lot of sense, unless they're trying to put PV out of the HES business? Won't the larger stem stretch the seal out and make everything else but that one stem too loose? You know, like the bent one that's a PITA when loose? I think it's a safe thing to say far more guys object to loose bent stems than straight? Many of us are used to PD and other stem vapes where loose doesn't start to describe the fit.

It doesn't seem like a good way to fix loose stems somehow.....tighten one up by making all the rest looser?

My take is this will make the o-ring all the more useful?

yea I have no idea, prob for both stems if I had to guess. I'm using my stems from my defective m1d

Try an Ed's wood stem he has at least a few to choose from for the Solo.

Check out the sub thread vaping related equipment. Eds TnT wood stems. I have the Granadillo, wood stem and it can be used as a wong for a water tool also.

I've been using it a lot this week. I really like using it for my newer model Solo. A little too tight of a draw for me on my older model, that's just me.

It fits inside of the Pinnacle Pro Wt so it fits a 14mm glass or wood. I have not used it with herb *sigh* further testing will be needed.

I will work on that over the weekend.:D:spliff:
