How similar is this to an Air?
It's similar but the upgrades are worth it.i love my air , had it since release and it's my backup now I've had issues with it. I've had to warranty it twice. Once after a year and once before the 2yrs ended. Can't remember the first issue but arizer was a beast and swapped it out. Second time the air just wouldn't rip like it used to and sometimes would start ripping after turning it back on after hitting it for a full 10 minute timeout. was a circuitry issue they couldn't repair and they switched it. Recently noticed inconsistent hits and sent it in. Out of warranty, their service center in Washington says nothing's wrong with it. Out of warranty and amy claims the warranty doesn't extend or renew once the units been exchanged out under warranty ( even tho it says that I no where on the warranty)so i was SOL unless it was a heading element issue. When the service center said they'd send it back I just said ok. Not worth fuckin with arizer bc I argued it several times and they wouldnt budge. Solo has a wonderful reputation for durability so I went with the 2 hoping for better durability. Each air unit I had need to be sent in within a year or right over a year mark. I know I go thru a lot of weed but this things supposed to be made to withstand heat. Plus I had issues with the air charger screwing up multiple times too. Sorry for that rant. Back to the topic thoHow similar is this to an Air?
Eh I guess, respectfully I disagree.lol. I use em all as daily drivers my original pax is still runs and I've never had to send it in. God knows how many yrs it's been lol. Same with my gay ass fire fly. Hate that bitch but it worked better. Used em all the same but only the air failed with daily use.Remember portables aren't meant to be a single daily driver if you are a heavy cannabis user. Having a few units is a good thing in your arsenal.

Edit: Another great selling point, I'd have to flip thru batteries nonstop on the air. Ecstatic to see the solo lasted 18 sessions yesterday with still some juice left
OK it's official. I love-love my Solo 2.
I used the long stem with a screen and loaded .007 gram.
7 thousandths of a gram just seems like that's pushing either the boundaries of vaping or truth lol....Whaaat.??? .007 is that some kind of James Bond joke.

I used the long stem with a screen and loaded .007 gram. I set up a 12 minute session and started at 166c/340f. I took steady draws without drawing too hard until the flavor really gave out. I then took draws at 180c/365f until the flavor gave out again. Then a few more at 190c/383f. It is so easy to adjust the temperature.
In total I took 20+ moderate draws in 12 minutes getting flavor all the way. The ABV was solid dark brown. I had done a .007 gram load in a Crafty this morning with well medicated result. The Solo 2 session was more relaxed with better flavor and I was again well medicated. I did another session with the Solo 2 and got the same good result. Solo 2 is a beast, very solid build, excellent battery life, a good draw, outstanding taste.
I have to use the screen because my grind is not coarse enough. I didn't notice any impediment to the draw or taste caused by the screen. I did notice particles of herb in my mouth without it. Cleaning could not be easier with no apparent build up in the stem. I will have at least one more session before bed time.

@Stormsend the draw on the Mighty is so open you are moving more air than you think. If your draws are longer and stronger they will finish off the herb with fewer draws. Try shorter maybe softer draws that would more equal the draws on the Pax 2.I went from a pax 2 to a Mighty and love it. The biggest issue with the mighty is that I don't feel I get enough draws from the material I pack. I hot much more draws from pax 2 then Mighty. I had the original solo as my first vape and I wanted to know how much draws can you get from a packed bowl/stem

Fixed that for you...SmokeVape good, eat good, live good!
I love the look of the Solo II and it seems like a good improvement on the first, but right now I feel no need to get it. My Solo offers basically the same functionality as Solo II. It's still going strong, and I don't forsee it quitting any time soon.
If my Solo broke, I would probably get the Solo II. Provided I could get a good price on one.
