Seems a little short, missing a few mm either top or bottom?
Are you also going to make these with round cut around the buttons?
Yes i can do round cut. This one does not cover the entire unit, leaving a few mm of each edge free

Enjoying my Solo III since Black week. Those glass stems get dirty fast tho, tried it with ISO and hot water. Some gunk remains. Would a pipe cleaner work to reach all spots deep within the stem?

Agreeing on the about 10°C wärmer temperature. That's how the device is quite capable of doing hash on long sessions, in my opinion.

So I get everything down with ISO... If it's more dirty, I leave it in a little longer... (1 hour).
Normally everything is gone.
What you can't get out with ISO are the burn marks, which can then be removed with toothpaste and a toothbrush.
I take great care to ensure that everything always looks very clean. That's why I clean almost every day and everything looks like it did on the first day.

The temperature thing isn't a problem for me if you know the device... and yes, it's an advantage that you get more than 220 degrees

Gonna try the longer bath then. At first I was gonna collect the resin, now I want it shiny clean.
Thanks for the toothbrush hint. My quartz glass devices need that treatment as well

Another way to get the burn marks out is scrubbing with iso and sea salt; fill the bowl up with sea salt, wet it with iso, and then carefully press a wadded up, iso soaked paper towel into the top of the bowl and twist back and forth. Sometimes I put salt on the towel too to get stuff on the rim and outside.

Temperature is pretty relative and subjective, yes there is vapor on the low temp settings, I run lowest settings in most of my vapes and you still get plenty of visible vapor when they are good vapes!

Just ordered the 3 after not using a vape since original solo and air. Can anyone recommend a good glass piece to pair with it in Canada?

Depends what you are into really, there are a ton of options... How much you want to spend where you would like to buy it, how big, size configuration etc...

Hopefully Good Vibes Boro will make more solo stems and WPA, his toad stems also fit

I'm not really picky. One that just pop in like the stem would be bang if the threat of accidental water damage to vape is minimal. A bong and rocking it inverted works too. Just not looking to spend an insane amount 🤷🏽

Yeah I think going inverted is much better, but there are glass stem with cooling features no water needed, or hooks... Now the question though would be price, and size? Any preference of where you are buying from (ie China direct etc) there are threads specifically for glass where this might be more on topic but we are talking about solo specifically I guess so okay!

I’m not at home, so I cannot measure right now, but I think the screen is 1/2” (12,7mm)

Also, when you post an Amazon link, you can remove the /ref= and everything after it.
I ordered the 12.7mm ones, but they are a bit too big. But it's not a problem because I can cut them.

I wrote that my solo has higher temps than stated.
I also notice that there are different days again...
Normally I always vape with a bong at 205 degrees.

I normally clean my things every 2 days, and now I noticed that the glass bong adapter became really yellow and dirty after 2 days.
It doesn't look like that normally... I had this happen once when I was vaping at 220 degrees all day.
Everything turned yellow pretty quickly, even my bong.
That's why I don't go above 205 degrees..
But I feel like I've had problems with that in the last few days.
I also often find that the top of my weed turns black at 205 degrees. See photo...

I used to have that a lot too... But somehow it seems to me that the 205 degrees I always set is now a few degrees higher.
I also always look into my heating chamber and always try to keep it clean.
It's actually always yellow on the ground inside, but today I noticed that it has rainbow colors... apparently the temp was high.
Even though I'm only at 205 degrees the whole time

Hmmm.... I have seen this effect once before but it's rare for me.

If you are using the glass screened stems, I would definitely consider switching to the hi-flow metal screened stems for better airflow. I think this can happen when one or more of the glass holes gets clogged and the airflow suffers. When the hot air can't easily get past the screen, it can scorch the flower.

You could also try keeping a small metal screen on top of the glass screen to keep the holes clear if you've got no hi-flow stems with only metal screens.

Today it happened again.

I wanted to vape with a bong at 205 degrees and I saw at the bottom of the stem that it was getting hot due to fire/burning... you could almost see a flame.
Anyway, my weed was like ash.
Why is my device currently behaving strangely?
Actually, I do the same thing every day and don't change anything.
Almost always the same temps and with a bong.
After the combustion I could also see on the bong adapter how everything turned dark yellow.
So I've had the Solo 3 for over 2 months and use it several times a day, but I find it a bit strange at the moment

I'm not sure if you saw my post above but it might be airflow problems. Have a look.

Another thing you can try is breaking your weed into little nuggets for better airflow and avoiding clogs but the hi-flow stems are better. Try inhaling through your WPA before loading it into your Solo. If it's not an easy draw then you'll likely have problems at high temps.

One other scenario I thought of is the following. If you turn your Solo off while warm and then turn it back on again shortly after, it might not measure the initial warm temperature accurately (e.g. it guesses the current temp is 80C when it's really at 100C) and it overshoots the final temp by 20C?

Is this ever a scenario that happens - shutting the Solo off and then using it again shortly after while it's still warm?

Yes, I checked it with airflow. All 4 x holes are free because I always clean them.
and now it happened again at 205 degrees and I have an ash again. This is very strange.
I then took the normal glass stem and first started with 195 degrees, then to 205 and finally 220 degrees... and everything was fine here as you can see in the photos.
Apparently I'm having problems with bong adapters, although there hasn't been a problem for the last few months.

I can also try the XL handle
and yes, Solo 3 is usually unwrapped before I use it.

So here, my bong adapter after vaping once...
It had been completely clean and pure beforehand. After the first use it turned dark yellow and you can see the ash in the stem

I was practically all black

And here the normal handle up to 220 degrees,,, everything is fine here
