Arizer Solo 3

Good luck finding it. Maybe your dog can help? Those little fellas are simply amazing.

Would you mind taking a photo if you find it? I wonder how exactly it’s attached, thinking of the shape of a T or a butt-plug 😄

@eyevape Mine came off while putting it in my pocket with a stem still in the unit. The anchor part looks like a butt-plug.

old-fart

Maybe not the oldest, but possibly the fartiest!
I received a confirmation from Arizer that they do not stock the Top Silicone Cap for the solo 3. I asked if they could, and got "We will certainly pass along your feedback for future consideration", which generally isn't encouraging.

At least I found mine, but it is odd they don't stock this part. Sure, they would not sell many, but they would sell some, and it would be good for customer service. Oh well.

Hi,

I've had my Solo for almost 2 months now and I'm very satisfied.
The whole time I'm thinking about whether I should get Tinymight 2?
Does anyone have both and can write something about it?
Or whether it doesn't make sense to have both at home...
I often read that the high in TM2 hits harder than Solo 3

If I were you I would choose a completely different device, not something similar to the one you already have... they are very similar devices, the differences are not so clear. Having them both is definitely nice but having tried the TM2 I can tell you that you don't need one.

Thanks... That helps me a lot... Then I'll wait a bit longer with TM2.
Then I wanted to ask what about Arizer XQ2?
I read very few posts about this... Is something like this worth taking?

I think they’re better plug-in devices than the ex Q2. I have the XQ and I might get rid of it. Something like the Angus enhanced might be interesting for the halogen flavor.

They actually are quite different, TM is pure convection on demand, Solo 3 is not... Comparing to previous Arizers, there is more on-demand capability, which is more control with micro sessions, and there is more convection power, but it is still hybrid session style... TM has a lot of other differences, but this isn't really the place to discuss them... I'm pretty sure there is another thread in ask if see that is comparing these two vapes completely, so you can learn more there, or in the TM thread about the TM (or in other Ask FC threads)

Anyway the XQ2 is a little more on topic same brand, but still better to go to that thread... it's not that popular, but a solid budget desktop I suppose, but there could be much better options available, depending what you want exactly of course... Options!

I have one and I can assure you there are better choices, it's inconvenient in several ways… mine is at a friend's house so when I go visit him I have a vaporizer.
Honestly, I don't use them and I think they aren't necessary.

I've been using the S3 a lot. It's very efficient but it works a little too hot, don't you think?
Session mode I have it at 170/185/210ºc and at the end of the session I have almost no steam at 210ºc
On demand mode is interesting but ...mode1 at 180ºc? Can't you change that? I wanted to lower the mode1 to 170ºc
For on demand, 180ºc is to hot on my S3... I have the draw time at 5sec. I hit for 10 seconds and still manage to hit two more without activating a new draw.
Normal?

Yes this is normal, I wish it had a lower t setting for on demand mode, but you can control it with the time and when you hit, otherwise you have to use session mode to go lower so that is still the way to go then

With Solo 3 I also have the feeling that the temperatures are a little higher than stated.
I often vape between 185 degrees and 205... Rarely at 220 degrees.
Most of the time I use my bong and it's always 205 degrees to rarely 220 degrees.
Lately I've been having temperatures at 220 degrees a lot and I've noticed that I'm actually burning my weed.
The material is black on the top layer and I always make sure that there is a gap of 1 to 2 mm.
I also noticed that in my glass bong, as soon as I set it to 220 degrees, I got yellow deposits pretty quickly... like with tobacco smoke, in yellow... It's not as extreme as with tobacco, but I do it very often When I was cleaning, I noticed this.
My glass/bong adapter also turned dark yellow at 220 degrees after 4-5 pulls.

I have the feeling that the temps are about 5 to 10 degrees higher... Maybe even more... But I can't measure or prove it, it's just my feeling.
But it's not a bad criticism... I'm still very happy with my Solo 3 and I'm always discovering something new after 6 weeks :)

I totally agree... the color of the AVB says it all
10ºC above is what I think...if not more🤬
But in session you can adjust it....too bad it can't be done on demand👎 Tinymight remains unbeatable in this department

Yes I would say the on-demand mode is basically not as precise control compared to the session mode, since it is trying to heat up quicker relative to the time settings that makes the temperature and power much more variable... Don't forget S3 also has the stem seating deeper inside the device, so especially if you are using regular size stem, it could get hotter faster with more heat surrounding than what you are used to with previous solo/air... It is still session hybrid oriented device, you'd think that would make the temp control more consistent, however they tried to incorporate more on demand convection control, which often does have varying experience, so I wouldn't say the temps are off exactly since I think they can be very subjective depending on all the variables involved

And they did a great job...the S3 is very good...it just fails due to the lack of adjustment of the temp on demand
I haven't tried the big bowl yet.

Yeah I agree, I understand why they went with five preset temp settings, but I don't really understand why they didn't offer seven preset temp settings like the original solo, which would be a much better full range with lower numbers...

To be clear the big bowl depends on the stem, but either way the heating chamber is larger as well, just in case that point got lost?

Saying something is running 10° hotter just seems like a useless metric in this regard, for me it could be running even more off than that or it could be more accurate, depending on the exact use variables and comparison points, so that's what I mean by it's all relative, I don't think comparing universal temperatures make sense... But if comparing just to the previous solo, that is more of a solid metric (although still pretty relative) however I think AVB color can be an especially useless metric personally...
