Arizer Solo 3

The oven of my Air Max has become black from combustion, but it works. I don't know if this will reduce its lifespan, though.
Ok, that's weird. The Air Max isn't supposed to be able to reach temperatures where you can combust. I always use my S3 upside down and the oven stays really clean.
By the way, you have a very nice stem. I searched Sneaky Pete's site but couldn't find anything similar to yours.
Where did you get it from? I really want it!

Hey @Dr. G ! I'm loving it personally. It has become my go-to portable and it actually competes with my desktops around the house. No portable has done that for me before.

Lately I'm loving it as a slow session sipper but it can rip at higher temps as well. I like to use the XL glass WPA with a dry dimpled 14mm hook attached for cooling (see here).

I know you are an AVLP fan like me but this guy has mostly made me retire the AVLP. It does everything the AVLP did but better.

I haven't even explored the on-demand stuff much yet because I'm so satisfied with the session performance right now.

Edit: Oops , that's Ed's African blackwood stem in the post I linked instead of the glass XL WPA but you get the idea 😁
How do you use it as a slow session sipper?

To use it this way you have to "temp-step" your way up throughout the session, usually starting at quite low temps. I love these kinds of sessions because I have them when I know I've got some time to myself to enjoy the process.

The S3 lets you put in 3 preset temperatures and mine are set to 338F, 358F and 378F. I'll start the session nice and low at 338F and let it heat soak for a minute before drawing. The low temp flavors are really nice on the Solo. I'll spend about 3 minutes at each temperature, stepping my way up to 358F and then finishing at 378F which lasts about 10 min overall.

Lately, I've been dropping a glob of rosin into my grinder dish and covering it in ground flower, then popping that in an XL hi-flow WPA with some more flower on top. It's a tolerance killer for sure, but with the rosin in there, you can have much longer sessions and temp-step to over 400F to finish off all the good stuff.

Edit: I should mention that if you're going to use concentrates in the Solo, better to use it upside-down with the WPA and a dry hook or water piece to avoid any runoff from getting in the oven.

How do you like the Solo 3 as a portable sipper? I have the chance to get it for 160$ and still need something portable but it worry about it's size and the fact that you have to transport the glass mouthpiece separately

It's definitely not the most discreet size but it's manageable as a portable. I use XL WPAs with a hook and treat them as "capsules" that I can pre-load and keep in their protective tubes. This way you can use any 14mm j-hook or stem for cooling but yeah, if it's breakable then you'll need to have it in a case. 160$ is a great price and it comes with two stems and two WPAs with protective tubes.

I like the cooling from a hook but if you're ok with stems only, you can get wooden stems that are unbreakable from places like Ed's TnT. The pic below shows a wooden stem with stainless bowl that can be used directly or as a 14mm WPA.

Edit: You won't need to transport a glass mouthpiece separately either if you have a hard shell case with some netting for accessories. This is what I use.

Same weed, same quantity (small chamber), same temp 220c (428f) but Solo 3 makes me cough for more than half an hour and with Air Max, no cough at all.
Also, in the morning I had dizziness and couldn't vape my e-cigarette for a few hours.
I have done 5 burn offs, 10min each session at max temp, how many more do I have to do?
Finally, with air max i have a slight flavor but nothing from solo 3.

Why are you doing burn offs?! I never do that on my S3.
You probably over-heat your S3 and the stem, what could lead to combustion, what could be your issue.

I do a short pre heat, at „on demand mode“ for 10 sec on level VI, then remove the stem, fill it and enjoy a small amount in one or two hits.
After my sesh, i let everything cool down, clean the heating chamber with a cotton stick and a drop of Iso. The stem takes a Iso bath until my next sesh. When i remove the stem from it’s Iso bath, i clean it with warm water and a drop of dish soap. That‘s it. I never had any issues.

Burn offs it's a sterilization process to get rid of any residues that may be left over from the production process.
I let it heat for 20-30 seconds more after the beep, and I only saw black weed at the edge the rest was brown. Also, I left 3mm or more gap.
Ps. Arizer told me to clean the chamber with cotton stick when it's hot and never use any liquids to try and clean it, this will void the warranty.

I think Arizer advises against ISO because they're afraid people will soak their devices with it. If iso gets into the interior of the device and does not dry completely, the iso may deflate the next time it is heated up. Of course that shouldn't happen.

I briefly dip the tip of a cotton swab in iso. it shouldn't be wet, just a little damp. When I wipe the cold chamber with it, it dries immediately. I can see it drying completely in a second or less.
But yes, if you clean with a dry cotton swab, there is no risk of the ISO deflagrating. It's just that the heating chamber doesn't get as clean.

If you are unsure about the ISO, then don't use it!

I actually only know a burn off before the first use, with a brand new device, not every time.

I would suggest trying lower temps, shorter sessions...? It has more power than the Air so the time and temps are not really 1:1

Yes, I will do that. It's a beast, and my tolerance is very low, and I want to stay low.
For now, I will stay with Air Max and in the future I will try it again, although I'm afraid, haha.

Haha yeah nothing to fear, I run super low temps with S3, as I do with many other powerful vapes, especially if I'm using dry direct... I actually would not even want to use mine that way anymore, only with my GVB loose fit WPA + steel mesh screen and a nice hook or other dry cooling glass...

Same here. Always a WPA and some nice cooling glass like a hook or a dry piece. The hybrid vapor from the S3 can be really harsh as it has a much more powerful heater than the Air Max. I personally have never used it above 380F for flower only. Only with concentrates.

As @Shit Snacks said if you turn the temps down and get better cooling you'll be fine.

I don't use bongs because I'm too lazy to clean them, especially the smaller ones, which are harder to clean. As for hooks, I've never tried them before, but I think I will.
I don't believe the european market offers much variety in vapor accessories, but I'll find something suitable.

Some bongs work well dry and when they're used without water, they require cleaning less often.

This one would work nicely but I can't tell from the description if it's 14mm. Looks like it.

A suggestion, my friend... try a Moose Labs filter. I use their micro version with the Arizer stem and their regular version with the glass pieces that cool my ball vape.

My lungs are happier, and the "quality" of the high is more my liking.

Thanks, mate. I've heard of those before, but I thought they were for smoke, not vapor.
I will definetely try them.'
Unfortunately, as recent research shows, vaping is probably harmful, the lungs react to it as a foreign substance.

Yeah ones from China can ship anywhere, and other US artists can also ship to you typically too, but this would be your best bet:

That's how I felt a while ago too. But at some point I tried a glass piece and then didn't want to go without it. Now i own five of those. 😂😂😂
The concentration of vapor and flavor along with the cooling simply overwhelmed me.

Of course it's not for everyone.
but you never know, unless you tried.

the cleaning is no such big deal. you don't neccessarily need to deep clean your glass piece after every sesh.
i give it a decent rinse with hot water and a little dish soap, after my sesh (usually the next day, for whatever reason 🥴🤪😅). One or two times within a week, i clean it with iso.

I rinse my bong after each session and clean with little ISO about once a month or two. That seems to keep it clean. The trick is a simple rinse after each session.

I smoked joints with tobacco for 28 years.
In the end, I was just coughing... It was particularly bad in the morning... I thought I was slowly developing COPD...
But I go to the lung doctor every year and always have my lungs examined...
No, I don't have COPD, but if I had continued, I would definitely have developed COPD.
I stopped smoking cigarettes and tobacco with joints 5 months ago...
My cough stopped "immediately"...
I feel much, much better with vaping...
Of course it's not healthy... But it's much less harmful than smoking.

The change to vaping weed, instead of combusting it was easy for me, but the cigarretes are still my problem. I have a hard time to quit. 🙄
Have you changed to e-cigarretes, to quit smoking?

Yes, I'm completely away from tobacco and cigarettes.
When I switched to e-cigarettes, I had to test a lot of things until I found something.
But that's been working really well for months now, and I don't smoke cigarettes anymore.
When vaping at the beginning, it's important that you get enough nicotine...
I tried with a little nicotine at first, but I kept wanting cigarettes. After I increased the nicotine, I no longer have withdrawal symptoms from cigarettes.
Of course, you have to want it and your body needs some time to get used to it.
The same thing with vaping cannabis... At first I found the "high" very easy... But after a few months, your body gets used to the "new" high...
I now feel more high than when I smoke... The high is more intense and lasts longer.
