Iron Sky: This the trailer doesn't make it very clear that it is a comedy, a very, very funny dark comedy. In the same vein as Doctor Strangelove (there's even a nod to Dr. S. complete with wheel chair and uncontrollable Nazi hand salute..and I'm sure a few others that I missed). The POTUS Sarah Palin character and Oval Office full of dead animals was one of the more cleaver touches too.

If you appreciate offbeat humor, give it five minutes of your time and I'll bet that you'll watch the whole thing.

I need to give that one ^ another look.
I just watched abe lincoln vampire hunter and although they are very different I found it to be of a similar vein, perhaps along with inglourious basterds as good revisionist/conspiratorial fun.

This movie was nice and trippy, and has a cool foreign vibe despite being in English. It's the story of Oscar, a guy involved in the lurid underground club scene in Tokyo. The depictions of people high on herb and other stuff was spot on. The film has lots of psychedelic coloring (like the photo above). Early in the film, Oscar dies, and the bulk of the film is him having an out of body experience as he travels through death. He sees the aftermath of his death, the effects on his friends and family, and relives low and high points of his life.

I think anyone who likes unusual and interesting visuals should check out the first half hour of this film. Just so beautifully trippy. Anyone who has had an out-of-body experience or is interested in that kind of thing, I would highly recommend they check this out. Gave me goosebumps in a couple of places, thought I was leaving my own body, haha.

Should mention it's over two hours long, and LOTS of sexual and some violent content (definitely would not make an R rating in the US).

Edit: Must say with all the overhead out-of-body camera shots, I left his movie feeling a little dizzy. Don't over-vape with this flick!

I'll have to check those out. I"m not into horror or violent movies, but if horror or violence is part of a part of a humorous story line? well that's a different story. Bonus points if it plays on historical correctness.

I think someone mentioned Ravenous a few pages ago. It starts out like a serious story and is a little grim, but it get's more messed up and humorous as the movie progresses. Some seriously talented actors in this one too. Check it out if you haven't.

Well, I've now seen each and every ep of the original Star Trek, and all original Star Trek films...

Now, to tackle the second half of The Next Generation...

Oh, and yes, ladies, I'm single...

Before you get to the Enterprise series, STOP, while the memory of all that is good and holy in star trek is still intact. Captain QuantumLeap cannot be unseen. ST 6 was bad enough. Don't hurt yourself, watch the animated series first.

Should be required watching for all middle school age kids. What living in hell must be like, though the kids seemed relatively well adjusted. Not as depressing as I thought it would be. Probably because it speaks of the indomitable human spirit as much as does the insufferable conditions these kids work in.

That looks pretty cool. I watched a documentary a while ago (probably on netflix) about a radical hindu sect that had an odd reverence for the dead. These guys would not only cremate the bodies, they would make their beds around the burning piles of corpses, and talk about how impermanent life is, and we are all dead already in a way. The other thing I recall is these dudes each smoked massive amounts of hash daily, just burned bodies, smoked chillums, meditated. They were like badass existential vampire jedi. I'll try to get the name of the tribe and the movie before I lose edit on this post.

I fucking love this movie.

Man, when I was growing up, I thought Arnold was the best actor ever. Predator? Total Recall? Conan The Barbarian? The Terminator? T2? Seriously.
