Is it true that the Legacy Pro in session mode does not get nearly as hot-to-the-touch as other vapes (like the Pax's, Roffu, Davinci IQ's, and lots of others) due to the vegan leather on the outside?
I dont know bout them vapes but the avlp pro doesnt get so hot. it does feel hot bear the oven though but not like 'cant hold it' hot.

doesn't get as hot as my xmax v3pro, which according to reports doesn't get as hot as roffu.
despite not being a fan of those materials on a vape, i have to admit the pleather and canvas do a very good insulating job, thermal management is very well executed on ALP.

That's awesome. It gets hot AF in my area during summer and I only session outside. Even though people say the heat coming off metal devices is "mitigated by holding it because your hand acts as a heatsink", that doesn't mean I want to hold a stupidly warm hand-warmer in August when it's 110F and I'm sweating ballz without holding a hot vape.
This may be the one thing that pushes me over to the Legacy Pro and away from the Roffu...

I have never had any problems with the three that I own...Never hot...always tasty. I just don't understand why certain reviewers do not consider this more when they do their review shows online. I keep telling most of them to give it another try. Some people are still stuck on the faults from the past when in FACT all that shit was fixed. The ALP has superb taste. It is such a great portable. Even though my capsules are a piece of crap I still use them to go out...I pack like four and set to go. Easy to charge...WIRELESS. I put it on the mat that charges right on the dashboard. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...the best. It truly is a contender...it should be side by side with the rest of the popular lot when reviewed. My personal opinion is that the ALP knocked the Firefly from that standing of BEST FLAVOR. Some of these reviewers tell me...you have not tried the Angus. I have. I own one. Vaping and vapes are so personal. What I love. You may not. So, these shows ALP VRS ANGUS for example I find very stupid. How about a show that just discusses the benefits and what needs improvements. ...lets have a non biased review. I find the reviews to be very biased...anyway, I love my ALP and I was one early on that owned a regular Legacy and I was the one who said early on it was shit. Now, I own the PRO and it is night and day. This is my experience...you can agree with me or not. It will not change my experience. Good day everyone.

Okay next question:

Are there any non-Airvape dosing caps that work in the Pro?

If not, can the Airvape caps be used WITHOUT the cap lids?

It would be so convenient if the Pro would hold a capsule w/ no lid firmly in place with no rattling around in the chamber. I just want to use the capsule as a "scoop-and-load" with ground herb. Is that doable?

I wonder if a Milaana rimmed basket screen would work...🤔

Good question, I'd be interested in hearing if this is possible too 👍

People have been using them without the bottoms but not without the top…You need some sort of screen over the herb.

However, you can get some screens if you go that route. There are links in this thread!

Yes it does work without the lid, as long as you're lowering the microdose disk all the way down. You'll still get a mess on the lid, unless you cap it with a 5/8" mesh screen. The only way to cleanly change the load will be to flip the whole unit over to dump it into tray, then retrieve your cap and screen.

Given all that noise, I found it's better to put your herb directly into the chamber and top it with the capsule lid.

When I am home...I do not use anything. Herb in chamber directly. I can clean the mess being home.
When I am out...short time. Herb in chamber...capsule lid only on top of herb.
When I am out on location doing work. Herb in capsule. I take three with me. Big air difference. I do not like it but, have no choice. Best is herb direct in chamber and f*&k the capsules.

MY METHOD for THE ALP
1. Remove the screen and gasket beside the oven. Unscrew the micro-wheel 2 full turns.
2. Fill bowl with med grind herb to the top of oven
3. Insert a 15mm stainless steel screen on top of bud making sure the screen does not touch oven walls.
4. Push said screen down a little, that packs the bowl slightly. Let no weed fall into the screen section you removed.
5. Turn up temp to 390f for the first 3 min session.
6 wait 15 sec after reaching set temp
7. Take a 5 to 10 sec hit. you will cough if you are sensitive to terps. happens during first 2 hits.
8. Next session turn to 464F wait 15 sec after reaching temp setting. Be prepared for big hits they are not hot hits.
9. Once you are not getting anymore vapor or it tastes like shit, turn-off unit.
10. Then turn the unit over and pat or slap the back a couple light firm hits with your hand.
11. while unit is still upside down open the door carefully and view a solid AVB puck stuck on the micro-wheel.
12. The screen is stuck to micro-wheel along with AVB, just turn it over and puck will fall into your avb container/ Fish out the screen for reuse. make sure you clean screen it up a bit.
Note: Brace the door while doing this.
Wipe out oven with dry q-tip while unit is still upside down.

except step1, Repeat the process until it needs a full cleaning, depending on how much you vap and how sticky the weed is.

I use the dosing cap lid only when I'm at home. Keeps the vape from getting too messy. I don't have the micro dosing on and I also(unintentionally because I lost both small gold screens) currently don't have the small screen on there either.
When I'm out and about I do use the DS and it's just so convenient and much more discreet. That Ghost Vapes capsule holder comes in handy for sure. Glad I could repurpose it.

All vapes will get hot buddy and in hot places yes it will feel like a handwarmer but thats the same in session mode for me for even my tiny m.

Maybe the storz bickles ones dont? But expect some hand warming to happen regardless

Buy a 16mm screen for a snug fit. Doesnt matter if its on the oven.

Once done, open door, use tool to pull screen out

Turn device over n empty, reload put screen back in n boom.

each to their own. i do not wish to debate 15 vs 16 mm screens.
i've tried both screen sizes.
i get avb pucks with 15mm and not with 16mm screens.
i scratched my golden oven a bit.
the scratches could be caused by the sharp tip of metal tool that i used to get out the 16mm screen out, cause it was stuck or the tight 16mm screen could have done it too.

Of course all vapes get hot... I just need the heat minimized as much as possible during outdoor use in the blistering heat and it's looking like the Pro vs Roffu = hand warmer vs hand scorcher. So it's a no-brainer. Pro all the way.

My ALP doesn't get as hot as most vapes. The only time it gets really hot is when I'm using concentrates from 430-464F.
And it's still pocketable.

I am doing the same except I use a screen on top of my herb. My bowl is still completely clean and looks like new. I wish the caps were better and I still use mine when going out but when at home it much easier just to load the herb, put a screen on top, sesh away dump and retrieve the screen, blow/brush out the bowl and all is good. I clean mine once a week with 99% ISO. I only vape a bowl each evening before bed and sometimes a few on the weekends so I'm not a heavy user. I also use a Dynavap B and a Tribal UNI Ark Pro (my wife can't stand the smell of weed and the 510 carts are great for much less smell). I'm going to try the lid trick and see if I like it better than the screen. 😊

On my wishlist for the next iteration of the Pro: not having to click the power button three times to turn on/off. Imho that’s the most frustrating way to toggle power on a device and would much rather it be implemented in some other way.

Also I feel like one of the biggest things holding this back from being considered among the greats is it just has too many nooks a crannies. If the air path were simplified then cleaning it would go much faster
..just a couple of quick thoughts from some shmuck

i think airvape could really put themselves on the map. theyre so damn close. the products have that cool wow and top of the line luxe factor.

if they could get the best/coolest bits of the xlux roffu, tinymight and avlpro and combine them and package it similar to the avlp with a few tweaks, that, people, would be total excellence.

like for example, when i take a hit of the avlp2, i want to be able to see a small screen as i look down on it, with a counter thats timing my puff.

the roffu has a puff counter, i mean its not necessary but its jus cool!

and lets not design a mouthpiece which then requires specific and specialised wpa n bubbler.

at the moment, i cant think of an easier load and use , than the following combination

TM + Octotaster Stem (The cheap ones are great) (yes its a tight fit in n out but the thing is it can be done with minimal effort in the dark)

the cool thing about the octotaster is that it has a non adjusting glass screen built in. which means i can control the load without the screen moving, no messing about with lots of screens n o rings, and it prevents material entering the mouth.

i can load and unload in the dark in the blind! and i miss this alot its such a huge thing for poor eye sighted poor hand coordinated people! and its why i love my tm as well as my avlp

Now imagine a digital avlp2, with a luxe design similar to the avlp but with an option of having one with the heft of a roffu and its premium outer material like a leather metal mix

and an all glass octotaster which slots in super easy, (unlike the tm with its tightness) once in, the avlp2 does some magic and keeps it in place. nice large bowl with amazing even heating and the octotaster has a built in glass screen and theyre cheap to pick up.

not only that, but it gives me control of either hiding the mouthpiece totally inside the unit, with a smell proof slot that automatically covers it off, or it allows me to control maybe how high (no pun) i want the mp to pop out. so i can change depending on use (bubbler, portable etc) + can use any mouthtip on the octotaster if want to.

it has top of the line heating tech (see tm2 or tetra or i think halogen angus) with some cool options like zirconia cooling etc

it allows me to open the door like avlp so i can give it a clean that way (with the tm, its all top down, with a door, it would be front facing too) and having this option would also allow battery compartment access.

has a puff counter, colour changing oled gorilla glass screen, timer to see inhale plus usual avlp refinements like movement sensor auto shut off, session timer, session auto shut off, etc and maybe even a sensor that senses the grind and gives (if option switched on in settings) to suggest optimal heating temp.

all in a clean looking, luxe product. the avl and avlp are awesome in their design, maybe a squarer ish option but yea a luxe avlp2 in cherry wood and leather or wood+metal, or a leather + metal or metal on metal!

i like having buttons, as it helps to make adjustments without looking. would like with the option to have led on or off. the quality of them have to be excellent. the metal type feel awesome. avlps feel great.

the 3 clicks, i think is a good safety feature.

I like the bowl size and herb spread of the avlp which is a bit diff to how it packs in an octotaster.

the digital temp is so awesome on avlp. love how it rotates and climbs upto desired temp.

now if it gave me the option of haptic feedback, say for example i wanted to go from 160c to 170c and i wanted to do it button only without looking at the screen, and it gave me vibration when i reached 170 or 180 or 140 or 130 etc then yeah another great feature

better yet, automate it. give me an option like 'auto suggest 2x temp or 3x temp step' and then let it automatically temp step for me either one additional, for example, i load the herb and because ive already set in my options i want max terps, it auto suggest i start off at, say, 155c then after that hit, it will auto temp step 1x to 165c or 2x from 165 to 170

clean airpath, easy load unload, multi stem capability, top of the range materials plus leds and option to keep em on or off or an led free version (i like lights so want my avlp2 to light up and have mood lighting)! automation and all the good stuff?

id splash £££ on that top end luxe cherrywood and leather all bells and whistles offering. take my money.
