Wow, 15V eh? I'm going to have to try that some time
I think I've figured out why I preferred a much lower voltage than most of the testers here. It seems to be about airflow, and I think you guys are drawing on the bong much harder than I do, so the heat doesn't build up in the herb as much. The design of the bong might also have something to do with it. Thanks again to bleak for helping me experiment with this.
As a result, I'm thinking of using a slightly hotter heating element in the next batch of pods. It seems that 12V is simply not good enough for vaporbonging, but I like the idea of being able to produce decent vapor at that voltage. I've got some heating elements that will produce the equivalent heat of about 13.2V, but at 12V instead. What do you guys think about that idea?
Some info for the geeks among you, I've found that the resistors which are rated at 20 Ohms get permanently "stretched" to 22 Ohms after being used. Furthermore, when I unplug the power and quickly measure the resistor while it is still hot, it has increased to 24 Ohms, but drops back to 22 Ohms once it has cooled down.
