After the first axials are on the road what are your experiences with them? Any comparisons to the barrel coils?

Shane, what are your own impressions, is there any increased performance of the axials in your honest opinion?

@tepictoton I charge a flat fee of 15.00 to ship international. So you would just pay that per order. The Axial coils are due to ship next week and I paid to have them delivered in 3 days or less =)

@Hogni The axial coils cover more of the banger, but also have a bit of a looser fit than the barrel coils. You get a complete and even heat saturation from them where the barrel coils lose a little temp the closer you go to the center of the bucket. Several people have reported dropping their temps 10 to 30 degrees. So that and the even saturation have an advantage over the traditional barrel coil. Not hating on the barrel coils as I love them and they are my personal go to coils. =)

I am also setting declared values to total to 25 or less. To try and keep any duties down when it hits its destination country.

depending on what you ordered, I might end up breaking it into 2 parcels to make sure the declared value does not ring any alarms for the amount of stuff in the package. If I did that, I would eat the 15.00 shipping fee on the second package. Based on what you are looking to order, I would most likely be doing the double package route and send the coils in one package and the bangers and other goodies in the second package

Being that I am passionate about the quality and customer service. I don't foresee either of those to fall off.

I come from the old school world of earning things through hard work and treating others the way you would like to be treated =) There is room to make a buck while also being friendly and doing whats right.

@tepictoton It feels good getting your money =P

Packing up your order now and it will go out today. I have broken down the declared values as such so you can confirm it looks good

terp pearls: 1.00
30mm banger 15.00
25mm banger 10.00

26.00 total

Let me know if you want me to tweak any of the above values and I will take care of it

Really appreciate the support!!!

I wrote this before and got no correction therefore I post it again unchanged

I try to draw an immediate balance regarding all the info about the different710Coils bangers:

Generally:

  • Opaque has in the opinion of the most users a better flavor with a more complex terp profile and is smoother than the clear when dabbed directly.
  • Opaque is not so suited for heating inserts than the clear bc of its thermal characteristics.
  • Opaque builds up residues faster and is worse to clean than the clear.
  • Therefore better use a clear one for dabbing rosin/full-melt directly.

25mm <--> 30mm:

  • 25mm is better for smaller dabs while the 30mm better works on big dabs and for heavier one-hitter.
  • Take care of the weight and point of gravity of the 30mm to avoid a tip-over when used on a smaller piece.

Am I right? Otherwise correct me, please. Anything in addition?

ATM I believe I'll go with the 25mm opaque and a 30mm clear for use with inserts, both with axial coils.

@biohacker The Axial coils are not in stock until later next week. They are a barrel coil (Covers just the sides) and a flat coil combined into one super coil. You get heat saturation from the sides and the bottom instead of the barrel coil that only heats from the sides.

@Hogni The 30mm opaque are my preferred size out of the 2. It just blows up the dab and gives you more vaporization when compared to the 25mm. The opaque seems to really shine in the 30mm over the 25, but can be obnoxious in size for some people as it does look like a lot more banger than the slender 25mm. At the end of the day though, the improvements are incremental and could be considered more of a mole hill than a mountain (Does that make sense to anyone other than me???)

Clear is always going to be easier to clean and will taste and work fine. But the Opaque being that they are made up of a ton of tiny bubbles trapped in quartz. They cause a more even heating and hold heat a bit better. This causes the dab to spread out more and also allows for more vaporization.
The opaque does get dirty faster, but I just have 2 of each so I can always have a clean one to replace my dirty while it soaks in its simple green bath =P

@Hogni @biohacker The opaque will look really dirty at times. But most of the time if I just run the cooled down banger under hot water for a few. The majority of the bottom muck will come right off. I think this is why you see some lowering the temp to around 250 and dumping some distilled water into the banger and letting it soak a few before cleaning up.

I am lazy and like I said before have 2 so I can always have a fresh banger ready to go when my last one is ready to be cleaned =)

Shane, devil you! You just want to get me to want all! :hmm:

I'm really just a micro dabber with large lungs but a damaged respiratory system. I only can stand a certain amount of vapor before my lungs/bronchias are exploding by irritation. Better some smaller hits than one fatty. So I don't know whether it really make sense in my case to use a 30mm one for direct dabs.

Sweet! I guess i'll wait until then to order my bangers... and you're getting caps too? :brow:

@biohacker, I thought it'd be clear that my statement was under the condition that often and intense cleaning is bothering one?

From all the responses, at least to me it seems like for some it's a bother and for some it isn't. Personally for me flavour/smoothness > cleaning hassle.

I'm in 100% agreement.

Reminds me of a Hunter S Thompson quote that I try to live by:

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

Hi Shane - so here is my question...I do understand what you wrote above...but if you let the banger heat soak to equilibrium (that is, the TC has hit set point and additional energy added by the coil = energy radiated off) I should think that the temp delta across the bottom of the banger to be minimal...no?

@Hogni - I have dabbed with Shane....he, no shit, has the lungs of a sperm whale. Like to choke me out a couple of times! LOL

I have the 25 mm and will probably get a 30 mm just for grins at some point...but I'm not finding my 25 to lack any needed dabbing surface territory. I don't do booger dabs, but I do dab solid rice grain or slightly larger dabs and love the 25 mm.

With my dab size and set point of 545 (with Shane having fitted my coil), I don't get one and done...but I do get two good draws and then qtip. One and done is no longer my objective...what the hell, I'm not doing YouTube marketing vids, after all! haha

Cheers

@Baron23 Its not as noticeable and can be hard to measure in a 25 compared to the 30. But when you take a dab you are cooling the inside of the banger and so there is a cooler point in the center of the banger when using a barrel coil compared to an axial coil. This is a granular change and most would never notice it.

There are all kinds of pros and cons about both types of coils. But at the end of the day its sort of like BBQ. Some people prefer charcoal over gas. They both work great, but can also be discussed till the cows come home (Am i old for saying that??) =)
