    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

Ya it's tough to have the round plates for bottle tech and then square for directional flow. So my future business has some plans to fix that.

IMO drip tech is dead. Everyone does directional flow off the plates anyway when doing hash presses and for flower bottle tech + round plates = future. Get all the wax/oil out easily and off the plates right away. None of this 5+ minute press crap.

Love the idea! But I would consider securing that wood better to one side. I feel like it could become a bullet if it slides out.

It's very possible the moisture is just adding water to the end yield, or perhaps it's lubricating the plant matter to help the fats and lipids escape. Maybe a little of both?

It's almost the most critical factor in getting maximum yield. Not all cultivars express their best at 62%, but if it's off it's going to hurt a lot. Heat is probably the second if not more prominent factor.

was it properly re-hydrated to roughly 62% relative humidity?

I saw it too and believe I posted my skepticism as well. The wax is melted, no filter is going to stop it unless it's a sub 20u paper filter. IMO of course, I have not done any valid tests.

It's not yield that will be hurt, it's the quality.

What I mean is don't pre-press your flower too hard before the real press. You don't want to squish all the trichomes into plant matter and then try to sqeeeze it out again. If you do bottle tech, there is less resistance for the oil to escape. Also I find CBD cultivars never express as well...

ok so heat it, whip it, freeze it, heat it, whipe it, freeze it. Repeat then leave for a day and see if it'll start to nucleate. Once it does, it all will.

    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

ya I like this, if you can force it to nucleate, by action (whipping) or tempurature change, that will work as well.

I believe you will only trap THCa in the filter if you are pressing at very low temps since It melts when I press at 180f. So I "assume" it's all going through the filter. And I agree the more crumble it gets the faster is loses it's smell and taste but not a lot and it takes a while. I have a...

This video is how you want to press, bottle tech, no pre-press. I like 190f avg, so 185-195f depending on the cultivar. This filter vertical style gives you the most material with the smallest footprint(puck) without making it too dense to express through. Oh and for times, I press between 2-3...

Nice, but back that heat up sailor!! You don't want to go above 220. Does it go that low? Maybe turn it off and start pressing around 220 then tunr it on if it goes below 200?

SS is pointless, and you'll want PTFE between the material and the plates anyway, it's reusable.

small squishes will always be the best quality and yield, but who wants to squish 1 gram at a time? You will get very tired of that, quickly. Even doing an ounce at a time now can be work if you aren't doing it in one press.

the problem with pre pucking so hard is the end product color will be darker. Just try bottle tech, you can still do 2 x 7 grams, and you are still going to smash it. But it should be only once, slowely and when the medicine is already melting. Not at 220 because it's pucked too hard.. I cringe...

    Healthy Rosin for Amateurs

Hmm tough call. I know fresh press both flower and sift/bubble will wax/butter/crumble a lot, so maybe it's capturing more wax than normal in those early stages? Cause old dry flower and bubble/sift are like glass. So maybe cure length has more to do with wax content then filtering. Or maybe...
