    Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

at 240f, if you listen, it'll sizzle for sure. I've pressed year old air dried flower and at 200 it still gave a small sizzle.

I'm just saying, for the past few years we've all be listening to the sizzle, and at low temps. Just gotta put your ear to the plates :)

You weren't even close enough to listen for the sizzle. In one post you talk about me knowing my stuff, but then you contradict me. You don't even know that cure age and high heat causes shattery rosin. You will hear a sizzle if yo listen close enough, on ANY plates, even at 180 F. Unless you...

As long as you reach 600 PSI you should be able to get max yield from that specific cultivar. Now heat and humidity play a role, but no, you should not be going over 200F IMO. With some cultivars 220 will get you a bit more, but you are going to start cooking stuff. I've already seen presses...

I could be wrong, but I believe the pressure is changing the water boiling point to a much lower number, thus you hear a sizzle even at 180F press. You will ALWAYS hear a sizzle.

    from pen to bong...not great..

This is why I use my Wax pens over my rig 99% of the time. I can get tuned in results in seconds without a hot rig sitting around.

is it normal that i get no oil left on my nail after taking a dab?

this just means good heat retention and clean concentrates imo.

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

It might, but then the plates are going to smash up on the ram at an angle. The plate builder just posted above you explaining the proper way to insulate his plates. So hopefully people follow his advice since they won't listen to me. not like I know ANYTHING about safety :)

I didn't say he was doing a LB at a time, I said doing 20 minutes a hit is ridiculous. That's 320 minutes to do 1 pound. He's probably getting paid by the hour. And the energy to keep the plates heated for that time probably costs more than the weed itself.

    Dabpress Rosin Plates

I don't worry about the puck shooting out because it wont' take your teeth out with it. So when those "caged" plates tilt even the slightest bit, under full pressure, you think the plates will break before that wooden puck shoots out or splits? All my physics and engineering knowledge is...

Is that piece of wood only being held to the ram with a magnet? If the answer is yes, then it can become a projectile at any moment. Please use safely equipment when using that. Or secure it properly. I should not be the one giving you shop press safety advice but i feel compelled to do so.
