No worries bio. Thanks for the compliment. Blue Mahoe is a very light weight wood. It is also quite soft. It does not have very good thermal conductivity so the heat tends to build up more. It really soaks up the beeswax which penetrates deep into the wood. I'm liking it more and more.

The microwave oven works wonders on Blue Mahoe wood. I was able to completely dry the wood until it was suitable for a Toasty Top. The wood was very wet when I got it. This piece had some pretty bad cracking, but the microwave treatment seems to have closed up all the cracks. It turned out...

You are correct. $120 is for the Top, stand, copper aroma cup, beeswax bee'ds and bamboo skewer tools. I initially wanted to give as much flexibility in purchasing as possible, but I am going to update my website for a complete setup purchase option. I have so far made them from Sugar Maple...

The seal is actually made at the end of the roasting tube. The roasting tube won't fit into the heat sink tube because it is too big with the silicone stretched over it. The silicone wouldn't burn even if it could touch the heating element directly. The silicone is rated for approximately 100F...

The wood for a tower is actually a bit shorter. The Tops are 3.5" and the body of the Tower is 3.25" tall. The diameter is about the same to start. I can trim it down in areas to make the tower hotter. I have found that it is all about how well the wood you are using conducts heat. A wood with...

Ninjahands. I love it. Hope things get settled for you quickly when you get to Wales Orestes. I'm sure things are crazy now. I have started the other half of the blue mahoe wood on the microwave treatment. It seems to be working very well. Hardly any cracking. It gets one minute on high and then...

Lots of action going on here Rick. The RZ is looking very good. I think your air heater looks like a spool with the top and bottom flanges. Very effective. Do you know if it is possible to cut granite or marble tiles with that water jet? You could polish the inside of the hole of the "Rock"...

Always good to have some extra silicone tubing around the house gvape. You never know when you will need it. Case in point. I am a bit of a pack rat and had kept a short section of 1/4" silicone tubing from a broken steam iron for about 20 years. I was looking for something to go between glass...

I'm using 1/4" OD 1/8" ID silicone for my 1/4" SS tubing. I also stretched it over the 5/16" SS tubing, but it is very tight and difficult to stretch. 5/16" OD silicone tubing should work better for 5/16" SS tubing.

Thanks for the support Rick. I will definitely make the TT more accessible. Nice to have an opportunity to help old Zap customers as well as new Toasty Top customers. I am using the Silcon brand silicone tubing from us plastics that chucku provided. I have tried other brands, but Silcon holds...

You are welcome mom. I enjoy finding simple solutions. Especially when so many people can benefit. There are a few sources for silicone tubing. The real trick is cutting it cleanly and getting the length correct. Looks like I need to order some more silicone tubing now.

There is no chance of it contacting the heater since it won't fit in the tube. The silicone is good to about 500F. The nice thing is that it only sees the high temp when you are taking a hit. It is only being exposed to a maximum of around 400F for a brief time. The herb / vapor only contacts...

Here is the tip taken apart. You can see how just a bit of silicone extends beyond the stainless steel tip. The tip is now too large to fit into the heat sink tube, but the silicone butts up to and seals against the heat sink tube. You are always welcome to post here underdog. This is a...

The stainless steel is completely encased in silicone. There are actually two pieces of silicone tubing. One on the 5/16" part and one on the 1/4" part. They seal together when you screw the tip on.

It is getting tougher and tougher to keep up with Rick and BoBo. I have to think harder and harder for new ideas. It is also getting better and better for our customers. In keeping with my open source attitude, I have made another discovery that will benefit all log vape owners and...

I'm still drying the Blue Mahoe. It was quite wet. I think they intend for you to wait a few years to use the wood. I split the wood into two pieces for two tops. One half is getting the microwave treatment. The other half is getting the tupperware treatment. Hopefully, I can reduce the drying...

I really like the thimble design Rick. Now there are only the edge of two hot washers that are contacting the wood. Very little surface area to transfer the heat energy to the wood. You and your friend have devised a nice system of thermal isolation. Your friend is quite a wood turner. Very...

    Chico?

I will be driving to Chico California in two weeks. Are there any Vaporists in Chico or surrounding area that would like to try out the Toasty Top and Toasty Tower? I will be in Chico for the weekend. It is only a 26 hour drive to Chico from my house. I will be stopping in Denver for one night...

Thanks for posting the pictures mom. You got some very nice shots. You are getting quite a collection of nice vaporizers. Cool that the roasting tubes are interchangeable with the new Zap.

Congratulations mom. It is a beauty. It looks to be about the size of a Toasty Top. Maybe a little smaller in diameter. Have you taken any photos of your TT? Do the Toasty Tubes fit in the new Zap and vice versa?
