    Giant Wooden Top

I'm glad you all like it. Amazing what can be done with them. It is constructed of 60 year old plywood from my old cabinets when I remodeled my kitchen. It was supposed to be painted with a wicked flame job, but he liked the look of the wood instead. The finish is Bondo resin. It is as smooth...

    The Toasty Top

I thought for sure I had posted a photo of my shortie 14mm glass Toasty Tubes. Guess not. My fault mom. Well here is a photo I took a while back. The silicone tubing arrangement has changed slightly.

    The Toasty Top

You did get a beta. I forgot. I must be doing to much testing with my new tube configuration. I didn't have my thermal probe when you got your Top. I'm now measuring the temperature of the TT's before they leave. Your Top looks to be 400 F plus. You may also be having better airflow with the UD...

Very nice video gvape. Thanks for posting. Looks like the short 14mm gong is working well.

PurpleDazed - I must be getting confused with FC names and real names. I will get a package out to you. Thanks for letting me know. Vitolo - Thanks for the kind words. Tops can be very addicting. I have been making and playing with them for about 13 years now.

    The Toasty Top

The screen clogging thing has always kind of bugged me. I know it has been just a ritual, but there has to be a better way. The change in diameter to hold the screen secure inherently causes crud to build up. The UnderDog silicone vapor tube does not have this issue because there is no change in...

    Underdog Log Vapes

Thanks Dave. Always nice to see a new twist to this style of vaporizer. Your creations are very beautiful. You know I have a thing for fine wood. There is always something new to be learned or discovered. Seems to work better when we can freely feed off each other for ideas to improve our...

    Aromazap/Myrtlezap/CeramicRockZap

Thanks for the kind words Rick. I'm glad we both have the opportunity to make so many people happy with our fine products. We can both continue to look for ways to make them even better.

    Underdog Log Vapes

I was just a little surprised. This is the first I have heard that one of my power supplies stopped working. I can send you a replacement unit. Shoot me an email. It looks like you are using my shortie 14mm glass to connect that silicone tubing. Very cool. Have you tried the TT on the end of...

    Log Vape roundup

Rick - Thermal conductivity is just the inverse of thermal resistance (insulation) so we are saying the same thing, just approaching it from different directions. I'm looking at it from an energy flow and balance perspective. I want the heat energy to flow outward from the TT at a certain rate...

    Giant Wooden Top

This was my favorite comment. I have never been hit in the head with the top, but the knot in the end of the rope will sometimes come back and smack you in the head. I don't switch to the smaller rope when I perform tricks with these giants.

    Giant Wooden Top

The main reason that Toasty Tops are top shaped is that I also make custom wood tops. Sometimes for performers. Here is a video of my latest giant top with its happy new owner. Giant Wood Top It is 10 inches in diameter and has two in-line skate bearings attached to the axle. It will spin for...

    Underdog Log Vapes

This is the first I have heard that I had a failed plug. Is it the power plug or are referring to the replacement heating element that I sent you? The heating element you send back to me is in my personal Toasty Top and working just fine. Was it this the discussion of which you are speaking...

    Log Vape roundup

I left my first Toasty Top unplugged last week when I drove to CA. The heat sink was slightly loose when I returned to plug it back in. It tightened back up when it was up to operating temp for a few hours. I even had some TT's that had never been heated up and the heat sinks were loose when it...

    Log Vape roundup

The Toasty Top is designed around the wood being a conductor of heat energy rather than an insulator. The small mass and shape have a lot to do with why it gets so hot inside. I am not convinced that charring causes rattles. Charring only reduces the ability to conduct heat from the heat sink. I...

    Inductive power

It should be possible to build a receiving coil into the log vape that will produce 12 volts with sufficient amps to power the heating element when placed on a base unit based upon how much power they are able to transfer with the small table top pan heating units. The base unit could have a...

    Iolite vaporiser

I have been thinking about maybe making a mod kit to sell. Something to hold the stainless steel bowl firmly so that the hole can be re-tapped with a provided. Would be nice if Iolite just tapped them for 1/4"-28 threads. The real crazy thing is that the Iolite threaded mouthpiece still threads...

    Iolite vaporiser

The vapor delivered from the Iolite can get a bit hot near the end and can irritate the throat. I tend to angle the tube into my mouth so the airstream hits the side of my mouth first to give my throat a bit of a break. I do find water filtration does not irritate my throat as much.

    The Toasty Top

Thanks for the thumbs up and posting the pic mom. I have really been enjoying the addition of the silicone tubing around the roasting tube. It gives a higher vapor to air ratio. The Toasty Tube can also be used without the silicone sleeve around the roasting chamber. Some people like to be able...

    Iolite vaporiser

I am really loving my Iolite with the addition of my Toasty Tube. I tapped the stainless steel bowl (on left side of photo) so that it could replace the roasting tube on my Toasty Tube. The airflow is much better with the larger ID SS tubing attached. This is one of my old thin style glass...
