I’m currently using a plastic mouthpiece from RWW and really enjoy it. My concern with metal mouthpieces is whether they’ll transfer heat to where mouth goes. Is the base really enough of a heat sink to mitigate that problem?
I finally got a little digital scale and weighed a bowl’s worth. I cannot believe the impact that 0.01 grams has on me from this marvelous little device.
If I’m understanding correctly it isn’t hitting as hard now as it used to. Have you tried to loosen the bottom plate and kind of shimmy it back and forth a little? I had an issue where it didn’t appear to be hitting as hard and I tried that trick and it seemed to work.
Good luck!
Total shot in the dark, but any chance someone knows of a store in NYC that might sell a TM WPA? I’ve got a 14mm but going to friend’s place and concerned I’ll need an 18. Thanks
Excellent point. I tried my best to avoid anything but glass when I first got the TM. Used the Grav upline and octotaster without basket screens. Even tried to insert glass screens (not terribly successfully).
Personally I’d be a little concerned about how wood alone would affect the taste. I realize there are pure wood stems but I’m not inclined to use one of those either.
You’re right, it’s very easy….don’t use those rimmed screens. Keep in mind they aren’t necessary, but if you want to use a rimmed screen pretty sure you need to get from TinyMight directly.
