The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

I put it on the magnet vertically, but usually unscrewed top and unscrew from the top (Tempest cap pointing up). I don't need to get the cap into the grooves, I just screw it on using the Reload until it spins on the magnet and then it unscrews no problem from just the magnet when time to clear...

The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

I'm 99% sure after disassembling my wand that the issue was due to the natural oils on my fingers getting cooked on the cap. It happened when I had it set to 700+F and I've long since dropped to the 460-500F range letting that run to timeout for the initial heat cycle. I've not had any issues...

I remember questioning the validity of your early review thinking there was heavy honeymoon bias. Boy was I wrong! I got to where I used it well within a few bowls. Having had it for a while now I really understand this device and can adjust on the fly easily to take the draws I want with...

The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

This happened to me after putting the Tempest back together on my third clean. I left the black (not final) o ring on to soak in iso and at some point cleaning and drying it had popped off. I found it a few feet away on the floor, cleaned and put it back on (make sure you have it in the...

The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

My commentary about it many pages ago was because it has too much flex and can get pushed out of position so by the time I take it apart to clean it is pushed down further. I thought it was due to packing too tight but it still happens with a relatively loose pack. I'm not sure what, if any...

Yep this. I also dropped my Wand down to 490F (~250C) and let it go to timeout and have been pretty happy there too. For reheats I stop around the time the edge of the VI passes the second marker and it settles right at or just past it. Happy times for me!

It is the only way I heat the Tempest outside. I'm only outside at night and with the bottom two rings cut off the silicone insert it allows you to easily see the VI on subsequent heat cycles with the flashing light from the wand. It's also usually pretty windy where I am (~15mph winds avg)...

Rayon vs. organic/vaping cotton vs. degummed hemp fiber vs. ??? for concentrates. Best choice?

I got some rayon fiber from Amazon for $7 or so that came in and I tried in my Tempest last week... flavor blew me away with how clean it was.

    Black Friday Sales

I agree on this one for sure, WNC is consistently dry for me. I figured it was because I was ordering strains that weren't new drops but 3 orders and 10+ strains not a single one didn't need some time in a jar with humidity packs, with a couple being so dry i had to toss a soaked raw stone in...

Took a few more pictures of the green version I got with much better lighting.

Having finally had a chance to enjoy this out of a small confined negative-pressure space, I'm of the same mind I was before but have also discovered another thing to like about the Tempest-Wand combo... if you cut the bottom two rings as @Brenyo suggested so you can see the indicator while...

The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

I took it about midway between the 2nd and third indicators the first time and it blew me away it tasted so awesome. I tried going crazy and letting it go just past the third indicator and it proper wrecked me, but the taste wasn't as good (still not bad). I've used organic cotton and just a...

The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

I'm loving seeing the Tempest get into more hands and all the shared positive feedback! I got some rayon fiber to try concentrate instead of sandwiching between flower and holy hell that blows the Dynas out of the water! So good and unlike the Dyna where you have to rush and potentially make a...

There's a reason I've yet to take my SCU out! It is more than satisfying flavor with it in and I'll take any extra cooling I can get if I'm hitting it really hard.

This is good info! Anyone who's used the Tempest-Reload combo will agree on the last part as well. It is excellent for decapping and I love using it to twist the cap on until it starts to spin on the magnet (magnet tight I think was the term?). It is a perfect seal but loose enough you don't...

Did you try cleaning the silicone and the glass and reinserting with something to keep oils off? I also wiped the outside of the induction layer because I bet it had a lot of natural oil on it from all the times I touched it trying to adjust the cap airflow at the very top instead of realizing...

The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

This is what I was thinking about since I hadn't cleaned the adapter before using (and didn't clean the cap/balls, only the bowl to the mouthpiece), so a couple days ago I took it all back out and cleaned the silicone adapter and the glass piece thoroughly with Dawn and hot water and, after...

I use the StashLogix Alma bag. I really like the form factor and odor blocking but hadn't needed it until now with the others fitting in tubes. I recommend it fully, but you definitely need to wait for it to cool before storing. I got a couple Alma's direct from their website for $17/ea a...
