    Underdog Log Vapes

Underdog, have you read the HI [Heat Island] thread? My favorite log vape advancement is the user removable/replaceable resistor, which is why I also asked about it here. I went through my PD resistor dying, and I like being able to repair my own items when I don't want to wait. This would...

    Underdog Log Vapes

From my experience with the PD, the first inhale with the stem 'glues' the plant material into place so it doesn't fall. So if you load a stem but want it to remain intact while leaving it on a table or something, you can do a quick inhale to solidify it first.

Yeah, all you need to do is find one that has at least 1000ma or higher [1.0 A or higher] at 12VAC or 12VDC and it works perfectly. I was lucky enough to find one from my collection of old transformers.

What is the best log Vaporiser on the market today

My experience with the Ohmite resistors is that its fresh resistance rating before being used is different than when it is heated up for at least a few days. I had used a fresh one, had some un-related trouble and disassembled it and noticing the difference, tried a new resistor. Found the...

    Underdog Log Vapes

How easy is it to replace the resistor in the UD if it fails? With my PD I had to crack the glue seal around the circumference of the wooden plug in the bottom which wasn't very easy at all and kind of marred the PD because of how I had to hack at it to finally free it.

By the power jack do you mean the part that plugs into the PD, or the part that plugs into the wall? If it is the part that plugs into the PD, someone posted in this thread earlier several times a link to where you can simply screw in the wires to that jack instead of having to solder/resolder...

    The HI

I'm March 14th and I'm pretty sure you are very near the top of the list. Work on the HI has halted due to Alan moving, so once he has fully moved and is set work will begin again. The bonus will be that Alan mentioned it will be easier to work faster on the HIs at his new place.

The police have the power to violate the body and property of an individual, the intent being to hold violators of anothers body and property responsible for their actions. This is an absolute power, and as the saying goes absolute power corrupts absolutely. So, how do you prevent corruption...

    The HI

Get well soon, Alan! I cringe when too many people ask you how long its going to be until the move is over and when more HIs will be built. The last thing I want is too much stress being placed upon you to the point where you have to get out of the business for your sake. My wish will always...

    The HI

After really getting to know and love vaporization, I remember my first time intentionally trying out combustion to compare. I was CERTAIN I had accidentally let a long strand of hair get curled up into the bowl, because there was NO way this bowl could be tasting as bad as it was! Opened it...

Illnasty, As far as I know there was no need to remove that port. It is a threaded port that unscrews counterclockwise HOWEVER it is glued into place making it very hard to remove that way. You could have left that port in place and unsoldered the wire going to it. If it seems broken at this...

I love the community here as well! My resistor in the PD snapped in half (not sure if its age, mechanical stress from the rattling unit, or both) and so I had to hack into the bottom to break the glue seal around the wooden plug to work on it and replace the resistor. I posted it in this...

Yes, this very issue with the PD has been covered in the last 20-40 pages. The heat is too much that the wood dries out and chars. This expands the wood so that the unit rattles around inside. This rattling leads to mechanical stress on the resistor until it breaks or shorting out the wires...

    The HI

You can repair it. Mines been going strong ever since I repaired mine. It involves hacking in thru the bottom to break the glue seal around the wood plug though, which takes patience and suitable tools and a willingess to mar the PD like that. If you're able to consider this option, what...

I remember someone posting that there is a tip available where you only have to screw the wires in, no soldering needed. Probably available at Radio Shack. A 12VAC works just fine, I have one as well. My Jameco failed completely after a while (transformer burned when my resistor was shorted...

My Jameco powersupply did fail at where it plugs into the PD, so I cut it open so I could resolder the wires properly to the tip. The constant bending had made a wire break off. That was my first and main "cold PD" problem for a while that I maintained. If your PD is rattling around at all...

Re: T1 or Evo? I come from a log vape (the Purple Days) and I highly valued its efficiency in making my herbs last over twice as long, which has saved me untold number of $$$. It is for this reason I went with the Evo-- I like a bowl to be able to completely vaporize without having to stir...

I'm March 15th. I'll be posting here when I get my email... so if you haven't gotten your email at the same time I get mine, you should know after my forum post that it won't be long! :)

Once started, the rattle will only increase. It is best to stop it before it gets worse. The increasing rattle makes it likely that the uninsulated wires will short out the powersupply, killing it. The continual mechanical strain also increases the likelihood that the resistor fails.
