It is true that the most recent cores, Teflon or glass, are reliable and not prone to failure. It was the older (pre 2015) Teflon cores, which were the two that failed on me, that had known issues. Bottom line is if it's not heating consistently, it should be checked out.

This is the sign that the core is failed/failing. I had two units that did the same thing.....intermittent heating. It makes you think it's an error on your end when in fact it's not. It needs servicing.

Mine will start blinking immediately when I attach the battery to the core unit, say right after charging, but if it's already attached then it's as I described two posts above. Am I on older firmware and that's why??

I timed my teflon core to green from a nearly full battery attached. It took 3 min. 20 sec. before the green light started blinking, and at just under the 5 min. mark total for the green light to go solid. Half your time. That seems odd.

I'm big on dry hitting the MV, and to be honest, I thought the J-Hook would be awkward, it's not. And it cools the vapor much better than my glass straw. The WonG sits firmly and tight on the lid.

My J-Hook and Ed's WonG from @stickstones arrived early. Never thought I'd find something that I was as happy with as my glass straw for dry hitting the MV, but now I have it. The fit of the WonG on the MV lid is perfect.

Air flow is very dependent on how firm you pack the basket. I lightly pack a large basket and air flow is never an issue and I have to pull less than I do with my Crafty by a bit.

Born in 1960. So happy I got to spend my teen years in the 70s......to me one of the finest decades to grow up. So much simpler back then. Thinking about it brings back fond memories of high school and my 69 VW beetle and the things that happened inside it. ;)
