Thanks. Please send me an email to alan@toasty-top.com so I can get you on the list. I am still running about 18 months behind. @catbird - Thanks for posting the photos. Glad you are enjoying things. Those are some tiny logs. @Shit Snacks - Hope you enjoy all of the items in your package...

    The HI

@Snappo - You are welcome. Thanks for providing me the opportunity to work with such high end wood and stocking such a fine selection of wood blanks for everyone. @Slow Draw McGraw - Thanks for posting the video. I'm glad you are enjoying the bamboo HI. That is what I am using most often these...

    The HI

@Vapinghole - Good to see you. Still creating more styles of HI's and roasting tubes. Glad to hear you are still enjoying your HIsaber. @Shit Snacks - There must still be emails not getting through. I have not seen any from you for quite a while. I recommend that anyone interested in a Heat...

Any of the combinations using the female to female adapter will allow the Slide-a-Bowl tube to work with your Cloud Evo.

    The HI

It is at the point where it can be either a standard or a mini with either a glass or stainless heater cover. I recommend a standard w/ matching bottom cap and stainless steel heater cover. I will be happy to commission you another HI also. A bamboo HI w/ glass heater cover might be a nice...

    The HI

I have been experiencing some emails not reaching me for some reason. Not sure what is going on there. Almost finished with your HI and the batch on which I am working. Will try sending you another email. It will generally still take a while to finish a HI after I send the notification email...

A variable voltage controller would work well directly from your solar setup. The Voltage Keeper makes some very fine units with great control and precision. I also make a micro sized unit that works the same way. They don't care if the input voltage varies a bit. The output voltage is constant...

    The HI

@vorrange - Glad to hear your HI is working well again for you. They do need some love from time to time. The normal HI is 4" tall including the removable bottom cap. The mini HI is 3.25" tall. I have made some glass heater cover mini HI's that are only 3" tall. The regular and mini both...

    The HI

There are a couple of things you can try. The power socket threads can become clogged with wood sap/sugar. There is a better chance of removing the power socket while it is hot. Try removing it right after unplugging. As moisture leaves the wood from heating, it will shrink in all dimensions...

    The HI

@little maggie - The granite bottom is made from solid surface counter top material. It is basically colored acrylic. The bottom cap can be made from almost any material I can turn on the lathe since it sees no heat at all. @Slow Draw McGraw - Don't worry. I won't forget you. @Kenzie - Thanks...

Life Saber (LSV) by Elev8 Vehicles

Thanks. If it was too much lower in the fins, there wouldn't be much of the cooler bottom part to grab. The LSV sets very solidly in the stand. A tilted orientation would certainly make it easier to use as a hand-free device. The base would need to be larger to keep from tipping over.

Thanks for the kind words @Snappo. I take it you have tried it. Always trying find improved ways to roast. @Scrimshaw - Looking forward to making you a HI. I recently discovered a new way to make glass heater cover HI's using bamboo pole. The glass heater cover is held at the bottom using a...

Life Saber (LSV) by Elev8 Vehicles

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you like how it works. I was recently asked to see if I could make a less expensive version of the LSV stand. The lathe work takes considerable time since the piece of wood must be so large to start. I figured out a way to make the stands without the use of a...

Have been doing some more tube research lately using stacked screens (my new favorite way to roast). They work really well in the Slide-a-Bowl tubes which allows the sliding tube to be used for a fiber filter if desired. Here is a photo showing the Slide-a-Bowl tube in silicone, wood, and cork...

    The HI

Here are a few more Mini HI units I recently finished that are very colorful. The first is a box elder and red heart. The second is purple heart. The third is sumac and highly figured walnut. The purple heart (3.25" tall) has a ss heater cover and the others have glass heater covers. @Shit...

    Discontinued A Hot Pod

Good to see you back hazy. Looking forward to seeing more Hot Pods. I was having the same issues with the power socket melting the end of the plug with my first HI design. I even modified an extension cord to use a glass bead for the insulating material but it wasn't worth the effort. I found...

    The HI

@ZC - Thanks. The heater glows orange during operation. I tried to make it as simple as possible. There are no splices to the wires. They are either soldered directly to the dimmer switch circuit board or the 2-prong (PS2/PS3 style) power socket. The GTV runs so cool, that it is tough to tell if...

    The HI

Here are some photos of how I have been using the stacked screens. The first photo is the 13mm glass roasting tube version. The shorter tube is used to hold the two screens and the longer tube can be used to hold a fiber filter. Either a full size or a half cork can be used to connect them...

    The HI

@Nugg - Thanks for posting the photos. Looking very good. The heating element assembly for the glass heater cover won't fit inside of the stainless steel heater cover, and the heating element assembly for the stainless steel heater cover allows too much radiant heat to escape making the wood...
