My model is like 10 years old. My partner shoved tissue inside of it to "clean it" once, and she ended up buying me a new inner stem once, but other than that I haven't had to replace anything on it. It's been a very faithful, reliable piece of equipment. I use it out of the Chill Steel Pipe now with a glass adapter made for the dynavap. The Omni XL titanium today doesn't look that much more advanced, same inner stem, no vortex thing like the Simrell. I was wondering if it's worth waiting for Simrell to go back in stock, or to try the Hyperdyn from dynavap, and if that would fit the same equipment I have right now for the Chill Steel Pipe - the glass piece with 8-10-14mm width adapters, and the Bonger. I want to upgrade to something, as I've had this piece for like 5-10 years now, and it's come and gone, as I took the top piece off and attached it to glass adapters that just take the top of the dynavap. But that piece broke, so now I'm using the entire stem again, and I am sort of curious about where the technology has come in 10 years.

If there's anything I think it could improve on, it's definitely vapor harshness. I don't know what it could do to fix that besides get a Simrell Vortex, but they are out of stock right now and I'm kind of leaning towards the Hyperdyn. I like that the Hyperdyn takes bigger puffs, I just don't know if it would fit my adapter. I'm kinda disappointed they're out of the Omni XL Titanium because my bass teacher who loves weed just said he's interested in getting one. Idk if it's these tariffs or what, but stuff has been out of stock lately.

Finally upgraded the tip on my helix from m+ss to ti helix sunset after using m+ ss tip for many months. Having a good time! Its much more purple than I expected based off the site pictures and name but thats cool with me I love purple. When you get some oil on it it turns a weird shade between purple and light tan amber which is so AWESOME! This is rad.

It pairs really well with a rosium cap visually.

Sooo much airflow and quicker heat cycle times now. Its a completely different vape now. Wow!

The only gripe I have is that the tips are a little loose fitting on the helix stems. I really wish they fit snug like the official bb glass. Oh well, nothings perfect. I hope to see this glass come back with an improved v2.

I hear you budski its a cool looking piece!

Besides the price the j.p finnly looks like it would have a strange tactile feel when holding and spinning. Lots of people didnt like the m+ tree stem for daring to be a little too much tactile wise (I love it! Feels so cool to rub your thumb against). If anyone gets one let me know how it feels to hold.

What's a halo tip. Sorry never owned dynavaps skipped thrm to go straight to mad heaters and vestratto so I dont know the ecosystem
It's a new Titanium tip. It's lightweight, heats and cools quickly, tastes good. I think it's a lot like an improved standard Ti tip in that it seems a little more forgiving/even and less heat is shed to the stem.

Man, that's such a nice vape! I would say improvements are mostly to the tips. I would recommend a M7XL if you go for another DV, it's a nice compliment to the Ti Omni. The Helix is also a very nice tip especially with the perforated cap. The Halo tip is sort of an updated version of the one you have.

For the heavier ones you mentioned the Simrell and Hyper will both fit your gear. The Hyper's bowl is twice the size of the Simrell's I believe, and it does offer the standard cap and the ball-filled cap. I think they both work great and are really fun and effective. I think it might be too hot to use with the Omni stem?

The Simrell is more elegant, has a normal-sized bowl, works really nicely/easily, is cooler, does flavor well. It should be ok on the Omni stem. Both would be great on one of those glass adapters you've shown or an aftermarket lined wooden water pipe adapter, etc. If you got a Vong stem, all these tips would work on it, including the heavy ones, and it would fit all your waterpieps and j-hooks with no adapters necessary.

Thanks for the breakdown—that’s super helpful. If I upgrade from the Omni XL Titanium, I’d probably go with the Hyperdyn. Anything else in the DV lineup (besides the Simrell) feels more like a sidestep—maybe a refinement, but not a big leap. The Hyperdyn seems like it would actually change the experience, especially in terms of vapor density.

That said, it honestly sounds like a throat killer unless you're running it through water—especially if you're me and tend to scorch every last terp out of a bowl. I'd definitely want to pair it with something like my Chill Steel Pipe (with ice), because I doubt I could hit it raw without regretting it. The Simrell, on the other hand, sounds perfect for using dry. Elegant, cooler, more forgiving. But it's also one of those pieces I’d hate to lose—too nice to throw in a bag and hope for the best.

When I travel, I usually take my Dynavap, and it's already anxiety-inducing enough. I can't imagine casually taking a Simrell Vortex to a 420 party.

As for upgrades, the Vortex seems like it would mainly cool the vapor rather than increase output—which is kind of redundant when I’m already using the Chill Steel Pipe. Plus, I suspect the Simrell will be out of stock exactly when I want one, and in stock exactly when I shouldn’t buy one.

Lately I’ve been more into stockpiling rare and radical books as a kind of disaster prep, so I’m trying to be more deliberate with big buys. If I do spend $220 on a rig, I want it to make a noticeable difference—and it sounds like the Hyperdyn would. My only concern is flying through weed twice as fast. I tend to milk every last bit of vapor, so bigger bowls could be a double-edged sword.

so tempting, it'll look perfect w/cxl bowl but pricey!:o

Well, now we know what the Halo tip was for! 🤔 Sure hope to hear a report.

Halo has been a different learning curve for me. With so little mass to retain heat, I'm of the opinion the BallR cap and convection work best together for the Halo tip. Stainless tips that retain heat longest for a longer, gentler heating curve are easier on this noob. The brief up and down heating Ti curves leads to easier scorching.

Finley's never going to feel hot, for sure.

Was poking around VDN and came across this seemingly soon to be released product - the Dynavap G3.

All glass combined tip & midsection
0.05g chamber so a microdoser
€40 (!!)
Available 26th June

Anybody else intrigued?
The g3 looks like an interesting one. Its effectively an all-glass one-hitter with a 0.05g tip and a metal cap on the end. Its hard to tell how big it is but looks on the short side closer to like a dugout cigarette pipe.

Whats with dynavap and smoked/stained/colored glass? Im tired of it man give me some pure crystal clear glass stems. The whole point of it being translucent is so I can actually see the vapor as I hit it helps me gauge things. IDK maybe the thought is that smoked glass is more `luxury` than regular crystal clear. I don't need window tinting on my herb sticks man seeing the vapor and golden res buildup is part of the visual charm. The all glass tip is the only thing the g3 has going for it over something like TRWW clear glass stems.
