I wouldn't recommend it over a modern vape but it's like having a Vapocane or something: it's surpassed by modern vapes, sure, but it's still as good as it ever was. In either case, they're pretty fun and effective. I recommend it more in terms of collecting fun vapes to play with rather than refining your collection to top choices.
And dubious health/build claims aside, I wouldn't consider it much of a danger. There's better, sure, and if you vape for health purposes, it makes sense to evaluate it carefully and perhaps use it sparingly if you want one but harbor concerns. All of this carries some level of risk.
It was a very cool concept and different from most other vaporizers. Innovative. Used with a battery the whole rig is very small and easily palmed or slipped into a pocket if the wrong person shows up. Have to pull mine out and try it again!
It’s not a great choice nowadays but it’ll work! I really enjoyed mine 13-ish years ago, but now it’s just a collector’s piece for me after moving on to more modern devices.
Main annoyance is that it uses AA NIMH batteries so battery life is pretty short compared to other budget options like any of the xmax/planet of the vapes/etc offerings. Would probably be worth making a thread in the AskFC forum for device suggestions since the rules here discourage device comparisons within specific device threads.
thanks ! I was unaware of that rule very appreciated I might try to find one on the cheap knowing it would have been my choice 15 years ago If I picked one...
Yeah the batteries discharge fairly quickly so you always had to carry a few batteries with you. The unit comes with a little battery charger which works but not as well as a larger unit I got, Powerex brand, which gives you digital readout on the voltage for each battery and has programs you can run to keep the batteries in good shape. If you are going to use it much you kind of need a better charger so that kind of increases the cost of running this vape slightly.
This Magic Flight staple delivers inexhaustible plugged-in power to your Launch Box or MD Dab Box (both sold separately). All units have cosmetic defects but are fully functional.Get yours now at a discounted price!Pair with the Jet Pac for the ultimate portable launching setup! Modular design...
According to a post on Reddit, MFLB is under new leadership and trying to get back up and running. The Power Up is part of that, and Orbiters are in stock. Their new leader expressed strong interest in 510 power regulation, and people broached the subject of a desktop design.

I’d love a 510 launch box! Been missing hiking with it lately, but none of my batteries hold a charge anymore. Probably would still be just a novelty for me, but more variety in my vape rotation would be very welcome.

Fantasies of what might be aside, where do you get batteries? And what mAh? Do we even know what the MFLB batteries are? I have a couple of the gold batteries they sold a few years ago that are still working but require charging after clearing three 0.10gm trenches to about 80% toasted ( I don’t like the taste beyond this.) I use the MFLB maybe 3 days a week now as I find it’s the most economical with bud because it extracts so well. I have a Pax3, several Boundless CFVs with non-replaceable batteries that only last 15 minutes, an old EDIT Convector that still works, a DynaVap that I never really got into because I hate fooling around with a torch. Even though the MFLB requires double grinding with a Nano and the Finishing Grinder, and shaking between hits, I find that it's really the most satisfactory overall experience for flavor, clouds, and on-demand use. So, where do you get new batteries? From MFLB at $13.50/pair? 4 Eneloop Panasonic 2100mAh are $14.50 on Amazon. Other, better options?
When I tried my MFLB recently I used an Energizer rechargeable since it had the highest amperage of all the batteries I had on hand. Eneloop probably would work, but I think the amperage was a little low for what they had posted on their site at the time. Unfortunately MFLB appears to have removed the battery specs page so I’m not sure what values to look for
IKEA LADDA AA 2450 (and AAA) rechargeable nimh batteries are absolute beasts, and I would heartily recommend for all purposes everywhere without exception. I believe they're made in Japan by Eneloops and they wipe the floor with the rest of my rechargeables.
Wow 2450 AA should do the trick!
I gave up on batts and only use the adapter or jetpack.
I got home and turned on the Vapbong and as I was waiting,
I whipped out the LB, hooked up the jetpack and took a few
pulls with my lips on the box (native style).
I must say that the taste, the signature of no foolishness in
between was amazing! This is my most economical vape by far!
Thanks. I ended up getting the 4-pack for $7.54. I scraped off the “sticker” with a knife for the first one. The 2nd one I figured out how to release the cover from its edge starting at the top and it then peeled off in one piece quickly. These 2 are much more powerful than the the 8-9 yr old gold ones that were still working a bit. It’s a 5 second warm up to produce vapor and occlude the red light instead of a 10 second warmup. And the hits are huge.

Back from 2009 until about 2015 a retail company called BlissSville was a main distributor of MFLBs to the public, they handled warranty as well.
At one point Forest (Mahgic Flight owner) made his own company the sole warranty provider, and seller.
I loved BlissSvile, and Ariel, it's owner, and working with them was a pleasure.
Ariel is an aromatherapist... Old School... original, and one of the first out there providing essential oils and wellness.
During the first year that I started using the Launch Box, I bought over 100 for the community from her.
That was before all that arrest and Federal Prison shit.
She believed in my mission of Paying it Forward, and helped a great deal.
As you may know, fc member @PhotoRider ran a series of contests and auctions late last year as a gift to the staff here. His incredible altruism and generosity will continue to be a priceless source of inspiration and optimism to me and many others I'm sure. On behalf of the staff, and everyone...

I am as guilty as the next Vaporist, in letting my MFLB gather dust, in it's special travel container...
...it's diminutive size letting it fall to a lower spot in a drawer full of portables.
Today, I ground some great bud, and it was pretty dry.
I looked at the fine herb, and thought of it as the perfect grind for a Launch Box.
The brain went to where I saw it last, and after finding it the memories came flooding back.
This was not my first MFLB.
I used to swear by the technique of "kissing" the box... not using the stem, but after a time, gooey resins started oozing out, and required cleanup, which using the stem prevented.
I prefer the original acrylic stems to the glass ones.
Back when I was still in a wheelchair, my original fell into a sewer grating as I forged forward in heavy rain.
I watched in horror through the grating as my MFLB floated out of site into the bowels of Sewage System mystery.
A Magic Flight Rep (Hobbit was his name) honored the warranty, and sent me a new one. The one I still own all of these years
later.

After getting all of my possessions back when I got finished with parole, I found that one of my two gold batteries
had fizzled. Looking for the glass to be half full, I was glad to have a good battery so I can travel down memory lane with you.
I consider it sort of messed up that I just put both capped batteries in the same fist, which means I have to re-establish which is the good one!

OK... battery mystery now to be untangled, as I "take Flight".
