Tornado by Vestratto

I am looking for an adapter and a stem for my setup. The shop should be based in the EU to avoid high shipping costs and customs fees.

Do you have any recommendations?

I have both. forge wins hands down in my opinion.
Please elaborate..... 🙏 videos would be very much welcomed. are you planning on obtaining the wagon wheel?...or do you need it?....what are you using tn the bottom of the Forge heating tunnel to hold the Tornado head?

Same same…I don’t know how many times I said I think I have all I need. I was able to snag one though. Super excited.

Do we know when this batch will start going in the mail?

This is more of a general question, but I’ve been using an unlined wooden WPA with the Tornado and was wondering if it has any advantages over the SS lined ones. Also, for cleaning, would you recommend 99% ISO or something else?

Thanks.

It will draw less heat away from the bowl. Increasing efficiency. Short accessible wooden vapour paths are easy to clean. I would just swab it now and again. I wouldn't use ISO on wood however.

Okay, so the wagon wheel comes with the forge. It allows you to adjust the depth of the heater to accommodate different ovens, and fine tune your experience, there is no need for anything else to hold your oven.
Some of the things that set the forge and wand apart are time of heating, and overall repeatability. The forge can be setup to have either a short or long heat cycle depending on your preference. Where as the wand needs to be pretty much maxed out, and takes approximately a minute to heat cycle. Comparatively the forge takes about 15 to 20 sec. the wand also can be kind of awkward to use correctly imo. The other thing the forge has going for it is great battery life if you invest in good batteries, and results are easily repeatable.
I will say this though, the wand does work, and it is much cheaper. If your on a budget and you want to save $250 or so, and don’t mind longer heat up times, the wand might be for you.

I have no idea how you guys are getting these slow times with the Tornado. The temp setting on the Wand is irrelevant as well as it's just a timer, not a power level. I could never heat past 23 or 24 sec from cold or I'd combust. If I tried to heat for a minute it'd be disastrous.

This video is sped up but you can clearly count about 23 flashes of the Wand for full extraction.

Thank you for the input my family...this helps me tremendously. ✋

Okay, so the wagon wheel comes with the forge.

Sadly the wagon wheel isn’t included anymore, it’s now an extra.

As noted by yourself and others, the Wand is just a timed heater. It works very well with the Tornado.

Just to add to your response I’d just say that the Forge design was pretty much based on emulating using a torch. You can adjust the heat energy (joules) for how hot you want to get the Tornado head and the power level 10% to 100% (max 200 watts @ 100% per Vestratto) to control heating rate.

Then there are four presets you can create for different TED devices and/or material and three ways to heat: automatic, manual and not mentioned in the manual, cascade mode. Cascade mode is amazing if you want to get stupid happy, or is it happy stupid? 😊. Either way, if you want to get every bit out of your material it works exceptionally well. Not sure how they developed the algorithm for cascade re-heats but I’ve yet to combust but admit you can take it right to the edge.

Tornado + Forge = Bliss

Great overview. 100% share your cascade impressions and results. Dip, rip, repeat until done.

and the power level 10% to 100%
My V2 arrived a few days ago and it doesn't let me set the power below 50%. I don't know why the minimum would be raised like that, it seems like lower power levels would be best for Dynavaps and other low mass conduction devices. Mine is also having a lot of trouble detecting the load with titanium Dynavap tips.

Is there a new manual for the V2? I didn't see any QR codes or anything in my shipment.
I can't for life of me find the download link. Lets put it this way, the .pdf manual says 'version 2' on each page so it's either for V2 of Forge or just version 2 of manual. 🤷‍♂️

Mine says that too. I downloaded it either before or when I received the V1 so it must just be version 2 of the manual.
