Arizer Solo 3

Got my replacement, just letting it burn off any residue. Still not sure what I'm supposed to do with old one, they didn't ask for it or send a return shipping label with new one.

🤷🏽

My Solo 3 is annoying me again...
In the last 2 days I've noticed that I'm getting little to no steam when using On-Demand Mode on 3 and 4.
I've been using my Solo 3 intensively for 3 months and I'm familiar with the vapor development...
I have no idea what it is, but suddenly there is little vapor even though I have a bong at 200 to 210 degrees.
My weed in Steem is still almost green to very light brown.
After I switch it on and off 2-3 times it works again.
I tried again with my device because I didn't want to send it in, but something was wrong... I wrote to Deutsche RMA again and will send in my Solo 3

Yes, still the same Solo 3 that burned my weed too.

Since I often read posts about combustion on Reddit, I thought maybe the mistake was mine... even though I always made sure that the holes on the stem were always open and didn't put too much weed in...

My Solo 3 works normally for a few days, and then it starts to go crazy. I think the temperature sensor is running amok :)

Yes, this time I will send it in

But I also have to write that I'm not dissatisfied with Solo 3... I've been using it every day for 3 months and everything was fine until recently...

Yes, a defect can affect any device. I just hope it doesn't take long... Until then I have to bridge the time with Dynavap.

I love Arizer...

I contacted support again with the information that I had to send in my Solo 3.
I also asked them not to delay the process for long because I use my Solo 3 as a medical device for my sleep problems... and they promptly replied that they would send me a replacement device...
Wow... what a service... I love that..

I will always be an Arizer customer... I really appreciate such service.

thanks Arizer

That's not a problem for me.
I received tracking from UPS and it's even supposed to come tomorrow.
It wouldn't have been a big problem for me if it had taken a few days.
I have my Solo 3, which I have to send back, and it works “mostly” until it starts causing problems.
I also have my Dynavap, but I don't really like taking it.

I think it's absolutely GREAT that Arizer gives me my device in advance. Of course I sent them photos and videos.

But I think sending me a new one without receiving my device is absolutely great

Yes they did that with mine too. In fact they haven't even told me what to do with messed up one, just asked me to scratch the support ticket number on the front and back of it.

So I have to send my device back to Arizer, which I will do.
But they didn't ask for any security, no credit card... Although I get a device even though they don't have my device.
As soon as I get my package from UPS, I will send my old one. But I should only send the device and keep the accessories---- > I think it's cool

Yeah, it's nice to have something for your troubles. My first Solo3 also had a battery issue that prevented it from reaching full charge. I got a new one and also got to keep the accessories from the one I sent back.

Hey guys,

My replacement Solo 3 arrived yesterday.
Of course, I immediately tested my replacement device and am a bit confused.
When I first tested it in on-demand mode at levels 3 and 4, I noticed that there was significantly less steam.
While my old Solo 3 develops pretty thick clouds after just 1 second, the new Solo takes 3-4 seconds until the first clouds appear and it is not as dense as the first Solo 3.
I've uploaded a few photos. You can see that the top of the Steam is pretty black on the old Solo 3 and the new Solo 3 is more brown to light brown...
For the photos I tried on-demand mode with level 4.
In the photos where you can see my weed, there is an old solo on the left and a new solo on the right...
Could it be that my old Solo 3 is burning my weed a bit and therefore creating more clouds?
Somehow I have the feeling that my old Solo 3 has too much power and the new one has a little too little.

What do you say to that?

I can post 2 x videos of the cloud development later so that you can see both

@RAMMSTEIN It's always a little hard to tell from photos but your first photo looks like the top is burnt. If the old Solo had a bad temp sensor and was burning things then it stands to reason that this was also going on in on-demand mode as well. These higher temps would also lead to more visible vapor and also some smoke.

For what it's worth, your ABV looks roughly similar to what mine can look like on levels 3 and 4. I think the old machine was definitely overheating things.

Maybe going forward just try using levels 4 and 5 in on demand mode if you want a darker roast or maybe take more draws?

@TigoleBitties:
If I fill XL Stem with 0.3, then I get up to 6 good clouds with old Solo 3.
But I usually use normal stems with 0.1g and it usually ends after 1 puff... although there is often a second puff, there isn't much steam left.

@Tji89
As far as possible, I always have the same amount in my stems.
Yes with Boveda... I've currently had the same weed for weeks.

Here's another photo, old solo on the left, new solo on the left.
Yes, it looks a bit burnt on the left, but well roasted... While on the right it's almost too light and too much green for me...
I'm really a bit irritated :)
Both on-demand mode at level 4... with the right one I'm even at level 5, but there was almost no steam.
Overall, I think the new solo produces significantly less steam.
Currently I have the stupid feeling that my old one is better... I'll test with 185-190 degrees later and compare... Because then I thought that if I keep the old one, I'll just go down a bit with the temps... But I have a device that has a strong heater.... Which would be good for hash later.

I'm still unsure what I'll do...

I actually wanted to send my old one today, but I thought it was Friday anyway and I could test both devices over the weekend. Because I'm really not sure if I'll keep the new one.

Do you still combust?

I'm asking because I could not stand if my vapes produced the slightest hint of smoke, and your pictures (esp. the previous ones) seem to clearly indicate signs of charring, if not partial combustion.

If you got used to getting smoke-tainted vapour, then for sure any normally working vape will feel weak thickness-wise in comparison...

I currently have no idea what is really right.
I've only been vaping for about 4 months, so I'm pretty new.
Yes, my old Solo can burn, but I can keep going with the temperature.
Here's another photo with the old solo on level 2 (190 degrees)
Almost nothing is black here

I'll test the XL Stems later... But I'm getting really tired of testing them... Since I'm testing both devices at the same time, I take twice as much and I'm pretty stoned:rockon:

Based on those pictures and my experience, your new solo seems to be working correctly while your old solo was running way too hot
I'm feeling the same way. There should never be any black ABV and the color can be anything from light brown to dark brown and uniform in color. I notice that your ABV is not that uniform in color. This can happen if your airflow is not optimal. If you are using glass screened stems, make sure all the holes are clear as they get clogged easily. If even one hole is clogged, you can lose 20-25% of your airflow. If you are using metal screened stems like I do, make sure your screens are clean. Very important.

I almost always use the straw method (suck up the weed from your container) to load the stem/WPA which guarantees good airflow but if you load it a different way, try drawing through the stem/WPA before loading it into the Solo. The draw should be easy and open for you. If it feels restricted, then you need to re-pack.

Hey guys,
Yes, I think many people will think that I'm stupid... Which is true... Actually, I got a device that worked normally and had doubts.
I was apparently too used to combustion on my old Solo 3 and was surprised at the lack of clouds.'
But...
With the new one I notice after about 10-15 sessions that the heating has now reached its full potential.
Today I notice that there are significantly more clouds and my ABV is well roasted and the color is perfect.
Somehow the heater took a while to get to its current level of performance.
With the old one I thought I could go down with the temps, but even at 180 degrees the upper layer was burnt again.
Yes, it was a crazy idea to keep the old one,,, I'm done testing and the old defective Solo 3 is going back to Arizer.
Another positive effect: taste
Since I often burned them and the taste was lost, it's completely different with new ones... Even at 220 degrees I have a great taste, which I didn't even know anymore.
Yes, sorry if I was annoying, but I just wanted to understand
