hey,
I've received a Roffu since few days and my first impressions are good even if i need some extras as the wpa for native use (it gets very hot with the original mouthpiece).
it feels good in the hand, is easy to use and heats up fairly quickly. A pleasant surprise, I enjoy it!
I've already noticed that it gets very hot in the mouth but also in the hand, especially in session mode.
And as I plan to use it in the evening and on the move, and don't want to scratch it (the coating seems rather fragile in this respect),
I've made a custom-made leather case.
The idea is for the case to remain on the Roffu during use.
This way, it's protected (I should point out that the metal parts inside are insulated by leather) and the leather absorbs some of the heat, reducing the sensation of heat in the hand.
I'm going to fine-tune it and put it to the test before offering it on my site.
If you have any suggestions for making it your own, don't hesitate to share your ideas with me.

Still no response from xvapeusa after emailing them on Thursday about the chipping around the heater. I'm now hoping that 420EDC may offer some type of return policy. I do like this device, but quickly losing interest since all I have been able to do is look at it in disappointment for the past 5 days...

Your Thursday is their Friday, so it has been 2 and a bit working days since the e-mail was sent to China and as I said, if it is a new unknown problem, it has to be dealt with by the engineers at the manufacturing plant to get to the bottom of what is happening.
Dealing with our Chinese manufacturer can take longer than a simple replacement for a known problem as our head office can handle these known problems.

It is worth a shot if you cannot wait as the China route can take weeks (new unknown problem), not days for an outcome due to many reasons.

Yeah, I'm with ya. Just a disappointing situation for a dude who received a new device which is just sitting here, unusable in my opinion. I got a pretty good deal on the device itself, but sunk quite a bit into dosing capsules, loading trays, caddys, funnel, extra metal heater tube, yadda yadda.... Thankfully for me, it is a supplemental device to my TM2, which would probably already be on it's way back by now if it had an issue.... But dang, Still no response at all. Disappointed.

I got my response at 5:30am EST. Although they were nice about it, they basically told me not to worry about it and to carry on... Don't tell me I'm the only one who would have hesitations about using this device... It's only been used for about 20 sessions, I imagine I'd be inhaling most of that coating by about session 200 or so. I'm so bummed. I put alot of money into accessories and whatnot to be in this boat 13 days after receiving it.

I purchased it with confidence that my satisfaction was pretty much guaranteed within a certain amount of time (I suppose I just made that up in my head), but I definitely didn't imagine I'd be left with zero options for satisfaction. I can't even post it in classifieds because if it's not safe for me, I am not going to allow somebody else to take that chance either.

I’d reply to them that their response is not satisfactory and also mention your health concerns as well. I have purchased a number of vapes from this company in the past and i would be surprised if they don’t replace this unit. Maybe @LesPlenty can assist with communication to their team?

It had a chip brand new out of the box, and in the next 5-7 days they got worse. I don't think I'm asking the world here. I can plainly see them, and especially under my magnifying glass light. I just want a product that I'm not nervous to use. Sorry if this seems like a huge request in your opinion, but in mine, it's what I expect.

And if that puts them out of business, I suppose they might want to reevaluate their business model.

Warranty replacements are built into the cost, and a selling feature to buyers. Ideally, this is caught and absorbed in QA before it gets in the customer's hands. That keeps costs of shipping back and forth low, salvageable components high, and customer trust retained.

XVAPE must be doing a good job of this, because I don't hear of many failures. Regardless, it's better for current and long term business to take care of the customer.

They are not very timely with their responses, but if they take care of me, I'll forgive that. As I've said, I do like the device and hope to attain the confidence to use and enjoy it at some point.

I also was going to comment that I read this entire thread b4 purchasing my Roffu and I didn't see many complaints or requests for warranty replacement, but I didn't want to start a nit-picking match.

Don't base your choice on only my past few posts alone. Definitely read more of the thread. Lots of happy customers here. I am still trying to be optimistic that they will do me right eventually, but they're just slow to respond. I can't emphasize enough that I really like the device. I bought it to be something a little more stealthy to carry than my TM2 for certain occasions. If I can be certain it's safe to use, I know I'll enjoy it. I bought 15 dosing capsules, the metal heater tube, a smell proof caddy & loading tray from @Delta3DStudios and a really sweet compact case that makes it much easier to pocket than my TM2 case. Fingers crossed, and like I say, go back to maybe half way and start reading there, and bounce around a little bit. Lots of good stuff in this thread. Good luck!

I appreciate the concern.

I've never used a v3 pro, but was eye'ing it when I decided on the Roffu. I used to have several devices but consolidated to just the TM2 and a Revolve v2 a year ago. I missed the Pax for certain occasions and shopped for about a month before buying the Roffu. I haven't tried it without the dosing capsules yet, I imagine it will pack even more of a punch than with the capsules, but it does get the job done. I can see myself going through a few more capsules with the Roffu than I would with my other device, but that probably has a lot to do with the other capsules being bigger and holding more herb.

Peese!

EDIT: So, I've been sitting here tinkering with my Roffu toys and I've discovered that I can, in fact, put the small round screen in the heater tube below the capsule and it fits. I remember reading previously in the thread that it doesn't fit, so I never tried it until now. With that discovery, I feel a "little" better because now debris will not be able to bypass the dosing capsule on the outside of it. This means that any chips/flakes/dust will most likely be trapped in the herb inside the capsule (if any is present).

My plan is to load 15 capsules and work my way through them carefully, inspecting everything after each session. If no additional wearing occurs (now the capsules won't be sitting directly on that heater either) then I'll feel a little better and report back at that point.

Wish me luck! Peese!

I have replied. Waiting for another response.
They are not very timely with their responses
You were my last message before I went to bed and the first message when I got up today, we are not Instagram but we do try to help as timely as possible.
This is also an unheard-of fault and the reason you had to wait a few days for a response from the factory (even if it was not what we wanted to hear)...I am still chasing up a fix for you.
It had a chip brand new out of the box
And please, if anyone else finds a chip when new, report it before you use it.
I don't hear of many failures
The Roffu is pretty bullet-proof and this chipping anti-rust coating is a new problem not seen on any other example except my well-beaten almost 10,000 puffs on-the-counter model that would have been damaged by me as a user. I dropped my unit many times, banging metal ovens on it like the video shown earlier of the loose oven and not a fault of the vape.
I remember reading previously in the thread that it doesn't fit
It did fit but the CU would sit up a tad on the oven side, but this has been fixed also by the new slightly shorter pressed metal capsules.
Doesn't sound like there customer service is v good, tbf I've only read the last 3 pages.
Please read a few more pages and you will see that we do try to help with any problems that may arise.

I wasn't referring to you at all Les, I also was not referring to Stephen or Mark, all three of you have been responsive. Unfortunately, none of you were able to directly address my concerns. So, the overall CS experience leaves a little to be desired.

However, that being said, I did receive another response from XVapeUSA at 4:13am and I think it should clear this up for me. I'm going to take it to the sidelines with you in our DM chat from here.

Thank you for your assistance Les, Stephen, and Mark, and thanks to everyone here for the support and concern. My apologies for bringing a little bit of negativity to the thread briefly. I hope to be posting my praise again for the device in the very near future.

Peese!

So, I received a satisfactory explanation as to what is going on with my heater coating and was reassured that it is a recently discovered, but known phenomenon. They have since been taking steps to minimize units shipping out with similar blemishes. I'm happy to share more details if anybody is interested, just DM me.

Now, I'd like to happily move on from that issue and get back to discussing the usage and enjoyment of the Roffu:

As mentioned a few posts back, I reinstalled the heater tube mesh-screen (below the dosing capsule) and there was no noticeable effect on performance. I've had 3 sessions that way so far. Everything is working great, but I do have a question, or request for recommendation. I'm still using the stock MP (although I received the WPA with my order, I want my Roffu for stealth missions), is there any trick to keeping the MP screen (above the dosing capsule) cleaner for longer? After only 3 sessions, mine is already about 10-20% blocked with resin/honey. I do have a backup MP screen that I could swap in, but the MP body itself is also due for a cleaning at this point, so I don't see the point in just swapping the screen out when it looks like I should just clean the entire device.

Although I am a bit OCD about keeping my devices clean, this is more about being able to take it out for an evening and getting more than 6 sessions through it b4 it becomes extremely restrictive. Maybe an entire backup MP assembly is the best option, but that's extra stuff to carry. Thanks if anybody has any tricks up their sleeves!

Peese! :peace:

I swapped my stamped plate filter for Ti mesh (a @DDave DV screen fits nicely). I have also used the plate as a template and cut out a filter from any mesh.
I do not bother with any filter in the grommet when using capsules, the lid of the capsule filters enough for me but the CU does clog more quickly.
Mainly resin seems to get past.

Ha! that's a thoroughly seasoned device! U mentioned this screen hack to me via DM (thanks!). I do have some screens laying around, I'll give it a try!

That was 650 puffs between cleaning (I just wanted to see how long I could go) and was only cleaned because I could hear bubbling.:haw:

It wasn't too restrictive? Maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill then. I think I'll just go through 20 or so capsules w/o cleaning then to see if it's really that much of an issue.

Thanks!
