@Mr Mellish its pure convection, manual technique based really despite happening automatically when you inhale. It's not like Crafty or other session vapes that just cook constantly and you hit it. The hits are more rewarding but it has potential for patience and may need to be tuned depending on your individual experience. I'm sure many people never change a thing, I didn't for a long time in mine. When you get it you'll see, and you can find tips on here to resolve any issues you should come across. And the biggest tips (like coil angle, and bottle cap screen are super easy -- use a double a battery to form screen, I don't have mods either). My biggest tip is lose the mouthpiece screen for better airflow, less risk of clog/combustion, see how you like the screw screen first, and see if coil position is giving you too hot of hits on level 1/305F for your particular draw, then see about bending it down. Most of these tweaks werent made until weeks or months of use for many of us...

careful what you wish for. have been wanting to get the 1.34 version update. have a unit in the 1100 serial number range. also have xp so expected a world of shit doing this upgrade. struggled for an hour with downloading and installing it, following the instruction manual on the site, thought i finally had it, elevape advanced control says it is version 1.34--- but every son of a bitchin time i open the elevape smart control app either A: it shows no battery at all, no lights at all no green orange or red. i just charged the vape before i downloaded the new update, shouldn't all that battery power still remain? worse yet B: when i open the app the battery is shown at just below 25% but never charges further. WORST OF ALL every friggin time i try to adjust the sliders to program my temps in the damn app crashes, the slider never even moves, as soon as i grab it and try to move it i get the bullshit saying elevape smart control has encountered a problem and needs to close. elevape advanced control program now crashing too. wtf can i do short of sending this in to joe. have run every variable i can think of, restarting the computer at every stage, plugging in esv then opening app, opening app then plugging in esv, using the included usb cord, using my phone charging usb cord which i always used to charge and it was fine... should have been satifsfied with the old program i have a shitload of battery packs to recharge this on the go.

@midnight rider Did you make sure to delete the 1.33 app before downloading the 1.34?
Try deleting both versions and re downloading just the 1.34 app. This may be your problem if you still have the old app as well as the new app.

@Betty White Try using a data cable. They seem to work much better for charging.

hi doc
no i didn't.
how would i delete that, run the uninstall program from the elevape smart folder or
go to control panel--->add or remove programs--->then remove elevape smart version 2.01?
is the new 1.34 app included in the whole 2.1.1 download?

Click the windows symbol and type elevape in were it says search for programs and files. A uninstall elevapesmart app should show up. You just need to delete it from your hard drive. Uninstall both apps then download the 1.34 app. Hopefully this should fix your problem.

Good tip. Same thing happened to me, deleting and reloading the app fixed it. Looking back, it kinda makes sense.

I hope that fixes the OP's problems as well.

I use the Elevape for tobacco. Would anyone know if it's possible to have the coil come up to temp by only taking small draws rather than the 7-10 second inhales? Thanks.

Should come to temp instantly, just might not be able to clear chamber of vapor if you stop drawing before the flash, usually keep drawing

I cannot charge my Elevape with the wall charger and cable. The light does not turn green. I had this problem when I first got it. Sent it in to be updated since I bought an open box and my number is 50. Joe replaced the cable and wall charger, but it still doesn't work. I've been charging it for about 24 hours and still no green light. I then put it on the app with the computer. Now with the app, it showed 100% charged but still no green light initially. The light came on after about 15 minutes. Any thoughts?

I've had mine over a month and have used it a lot. Sometimes 4 to 6 batteries. Anyway I updated the firmware online. Unit had been shipped back for service on the coil. Got it and figured it must be current but it wasnt. Anyway performance imprpved. Green light operates with wall, battery, and computer charging.

I was told once the unit reaches 98, 99% charge that the charge rate slows significantly to protect the battery. Also using it at that level won't cause any harm. Probably won't even notice a difference in life.

If you haven't already check for the latest firmware. Good luck. I don't mind tinkering and when this thing is ripping it's AL
Worth the effort.

Unless you asked for the software upgrade I definitely would not expect it since it (upgrading the unit) seems to cause a clash with the App? How would you have responded if you sent it in for a coil issue and it came back not working as before with the app?

Actually the charge tapers off much sooner than that, closer to 90%. This is typical actually, most devices do it to protect the battery and still get maximum charges. It definitely doesn't hurt the battery to 'stop early' in fact if you do so routinely you can seriously increase the battery life. A 10% 'drop' can DOUBLE the battery service life. Check out the stuff around table 4 here:

Glad you're 'up to snuff', and hope you're enjoying your ESV, it's a 'keeper for sure' in my book.

Yeah I'm still trucking with the old firmware, though my original 50 production unit can take it since it has had the manual update from when I last sent it to Joe in January.

Currently set at 1, 5, and 10, and getting decent temp stepping with course grind now instead of fine (that's what I had prepared anyway so I figured I'd stick with it for now, hopefully means less cleaning too if i continue to) thin clouds on my level 1 and surprisingly thick at 2, 3 works but not needed much yet, we'll see if I adjust them further with more use while I wait for Zion production (maybe GH and O2 too?)

Elevape is proving to be the reliable hit-it-anywhere powerful portable it was when I last relied on it heavily. The ultimate back up really (if not my preferred DD anymore) since its always ready no matter what and satisfying

I really love mine for traveling as i can hit this thing in any public bathroom or jusy any area at all with minimal time and effort..unfortunately ive gotten used to my hard hitting vapes and this one sits unused in a drawer. I need to dust it off because it has by far the best flavor of any vape i have hit. I might need to look into the new program..my only issue with the current one is i can charge my batt and if i let it sit unused for few days it just naturally loses charge? But performance is fine and it has been dialed in since i angled my coil and went to bottle screen method..for some reason the bottle screen really changed the dynamic of the airflow and totally eliminated combustion risk with my unit.ive had mine for 10 months now and only problens with the unit have been stripping the screw/washer that holds the screens in..i have issues with the screen removal tool...it works but i have to insert the screens from the top instead of removing the washer on bottom..but its fine and joe said sent that piece in and he will fix it..

Why the Indica O2, seemingly some sort of collaboration between them and Elevape on a new convection portable... We should know more some time next week apparently

And yeah the bottlecap screen is much better all around, though I'm still finding I need to crack open and stir regardless of my current course grind. I need to try my old preferred finer grind method again, doing that always provided heavier hits imo @subway13029

Good Morning! I hope y'all wake-n-baked, so I have some company.......it's always better to get stoned with friends.

About 2 months ago, I flashed my ESV to 1.34. After charging, I couldn't get more than a few good hits, IIRC, before it went dead. I emailed Joe, and he replied with an RMA, but, as I have other devices, I never felt compelled to bother with a trip to the post office.

Now we'll jump forward to last night. I sat down with my tablet, caught up on this thread, and decided I needed to try again to get my ESV working properly. I sat down at my desk, and deleted the app, the Advanced program, and the hex file, so I could do a fresh install. After getting the app loaded, I started the Advanced control, and flashed the ESV. I verified that it flashed to 1.34, left it plugged into the usb port on my laptop, and went to bed. After I got up this morning, I unplugged the unit, took it downstairs, plugged it into the factory AC adapter, just in case the laptop didn't do the job, and went after that first cup of coffee.

After about 2 cups of coffee, the battery was showing green, so I decided to test it, even though I know I need to get that painting done in the next 3 days (it's gonna rain). But, before proceeding with the test, I decided to try the bottle cap method. So, I went looking for an appropriate screen in my humidor, where I stash them with my weed, and spotted an NO2 screen. Hmm, already somewhat bottle cap shaped (more like a floppy hat, really), and about the right size. I then went looking for a needle nose to break the fins off the ESV lid, but didn't have one small enough to fit. I figured it would still be worth trying, so I removed the stirrer and old screen, and found that the NO2 screen did, indeed, fit perfectly, using the metal cleaning tool that comes with the ESV to push it firmly in place.

I then loaded the bowl, set it to 420 degrees, and started counting hits, hoping to see maybe 50 or so. Well, everyone, I'm here to tell ya that this damn thing works. I made it to about 35 hits in the session, and had to say "No more!". Somewhere along the way, I started to get a little stoned, so I can't tell you EXACTLY how many hits I got, or how many hits it's capable of on a full charge, but I'm satisfied that I have a working ESV.

Thanks to Vape Dr. And others for convincing me to try the bottle cap method (yeah, I know I took shortcuts, but it's working....I'll get the fins removed eventually), and to try the clean install.

This could possibly become my daily driver now, at least for a while. At the very least, it could be a good unit for my wife, as she hasn't taken to my other vaporizers, due to various difficulties. IMO, this has to be among the easiest-to-use convection vaporizers. Just fill it and rip it. Everyone who has ever smoked a joint knows how to do that!
