Discontinued Gn0me - lighter based vaporizers

vorrange

Vapor.wise
Yeah, if you're using it with water 99% of the times, then the gn0me cone with wpa is the most confortable to use.

If you want to use dry 99% of the times, then go with the slider.

Thank you so much for the advice, I ordered the Cone and WPA today, so hopefully I will get to test them out soon!

Does anyone find that there is a torch lighter that works best with the cone?

I use my big Chefs Torch that I normally use for heating up my nail when dabbing.

It's flame is big enough that it pretty much covers the whole heating section, so all i need to do is rotate it for even heating.

It's pretty easy to heat it past combustion temps with that torch though, so you need to be able to gauge how hot it is from it's radiant heat.

I still prefer it for is fast heatup time though.

:2c:

Frederick McGuire,
Calen's gnome on my six-arm bubbler is my favorite way to vape bar none. Getting the right torch and figuring out your heating time is essential to proper use. I started with a small bernzomatic butane torch. But then I stopped fucking around and I got myself a full-blown MAPP gas torch set-up. Now I enjoy 10 second heat-up times for perfect, milky convection hits unlike any other (yes, I've vaped with the cloud - prefer the gnome). The key to understanding temp limit for the heat exchanger is to acknowledge the role that convection velocity plays in vaporization. If you hit it too hard, you'll cool it off more rapidly. And, conversely, if you hit it too soft, you'll achieve higher temps. As such, I like to error on heating for lower temps and then control the thickness of the vapor with the draw. Once I figured this out accidental combustion became a thing of the past.

been trying to dig through this thread. i saw some people use screens. I saw the pics of the small size unground pieces to use but that's not always possible.

i'm worried about pull through.

is that an issue for people?

thanks

We're here to fuck shit up.
I jammed a chunk of screen into the mouth of the smiley on the mouthpiece of one of my sliders. It isnt exactly necessary if you don't use too fine of a grind, but I like to have it there. I accidently broke the entire smile out of my other slider. I need to have a screen in there now or I get a ton of herb in my mouth.

Hey guys,

It has been long time since I posted on FC so it would be nice of me to return with some good news.
It was exactly 1 year ago that we had an interesting e-mail conversation with Calen about some alternatives of g0ng Gn0me. Back then, I proposed him to make me a g0ng heater with the male ending, so that I can attach it to my female gong bowl left from HD vape or MW vape. By this way, you would be able to have a screen of any choice in the bowl while gn0ming. However, he told me there would be some thermal stability issues that he had to overcome. Meanwhile, Calen has improved the glass screen design as shown below so you might not need to use your conventional screen in the bowl.
Anyways it was few days ago that we reconnected with Calen on e-mail where he states that he finishes the design of a gn0me male heater. I was pleasantly surprised. Let me share a part of conversation.

I just finished some testing of the 19mm male heater with female bowl, and am in the process of releasing it now. It works pretty nicely - I had to tweak screen design some in order to get it to vaporize more at the edges of the bowl rather than just the center, but I'm pretty pleased with how it's working now. I found a set of joints that works really well, and the male heater seems fairly stable - check out the attached pics :D

Furthermore, he is busy with releasing it so he might not respond to your e-mails. Well we waited long enough so let's check the pics.

So while medicated from my gnome I started pondering the thought, now if I connected a nice showerhead downstem to the GonG heat exchanger (probably need a male to male adapter) I could essentially use the GonG gnome to vaporbong and add percolation to a nice straight tube no?

You would need to rig up a screen, but yes, I don't see why not.

I guess I don't understand what benefit there would be for that over the standard WPA.

Only benefit I could see would be the added percolation but who knows could've been a high thought that should well stay a high thought lol

If you've got a showerhead downstem, just put it in the straight tube, and connect the gnome + WPA to the downstem.

The only reason you'd need to figure out a male-male adapter is if you don't have the gnome WPA.

If it wasn't for "high thoughts", I wouldn't have the avatar that I do. I was really, really stoned one night (about 15 years ago) and decided that the one thing that was missing from the internet was a website where Jesus teaches the world about beer. :mental:

I stayed up half that night buying domain names (I finally went with "jesuslovesbeer.com" and working with graphic artists to make the logo for the website.

Well, turns out that no one gives a shit what Jesus thinks about beer at all. I let the site shut down, but I got myself a cool avatar.

Ah the detail I forgot! Aha why thank you Fredrick.

How much of a smell does the gnome vaping process give off? I live in the same hall as some people who wouldn't appreciate the smell, so I would I need to use it next to a window or with a fan on, or is it pretty discreet on its own?

It's as smelly as what you put in it+ a little. Smell doesn't leave the room it's used in, unless it's super silver haze in which case hiding is futile.
