great, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the 3.0, I also have the 2.0
I am still waiting on my Simrell Engine to arrive, USPS has been pretty bad being on time, in fact they have been very, very bad, lately
its been over 2 weeks, never used to take this long
For the 2.0, I completely removed the ceramic insert plug to get it to fit in deep enough, although I would prefer it went in just 1-2mm more. So far I've got pretty good results with 45W for 45seconds. I have a Wand, but use the yll 2.0 for the Simrell if I'm also using the Tempest at the same time so I don't have to change around adapters/inserts on the fly. Otherwise I use just the Wand with the Simrell. You'll love his engine - it's incredible. It feels so calculated with incredibly precise engineering, like an Italian sports car. The experience is well worth the wait.

Forgot mention, the 45W/45s is a good starting point. I typically always use higher wattage or time than that and I almost always go ~5 seconds past the click for a decent medium roast.
I just got the Sim Engine,
tried Yll IH 2.0 took off ceramic, tried on Boost Mode 60 seconds (but pulled it off at 14 seconds left) did not go the entire 60
had a good session with that setting, then i cooled Sim down with Sim Stand which works great to cool it down

loaded again and went same way except this time I waited till it got down to 10 secs instead of 14
seemed a bit more hot, I think I may have combusted except i was doing small littel draw hits,
if i had gone long I might have combusted

what are your settings with YLL IH 2.0
with higher wattage than 45 watts?

do you use Sim Engine with Wand?
if so what settings do you use

so far the best setting for Yll IH 2.0 wSimrell Engine on wpa
has been:
60 Watt
50 Sec

i tried 60w at 45 seconds
its a noticalbe difference with just 5 seconds more on 60watts
which is best setting for my liking so far ( 60W/50sec )

How does the 3.0 compare to the BFG Flare? I understand that very soon the new model is going to be available. They look the same and It notes on the webpage that the flare is made by YLL. Do I have that correct? Is the flare just the YLL 3.0 rebranded?

For the yll 2.0 and the Sim engine, I most commonly use 60W and 50s, but that's with Molicel P30B batteries. If you're using the stock Wand batteries in the 2.0, they are underpowered for 60W settings. If I recall, 45W is the highest you can go with the stock Wand batteries in the 2.0, likely because they are only 20A where the P30Bs are 30A. I haven't used boost mode, so I can't comment there, but I can tell you that the Sim engine best likes to be heated a bit more slowly than what the boost mode is probably offering.

The Sim with the Wand is fantastic. Insert the engine with the top fin aligned with the top rim of the Wand (this will be 1 or 2mm deeper than what the 2.0 can do). From there, anywhere from 350-450F is fantastic (ignore the clicks, just let it roll until timeout). The closer to 450, the bigger the clouds will be, but don't sleep on that 350, that's where the terps really come alive - tons of flavor. I usually stick to 425 until timeout unless I want big flavor - that's the sweet spot for me. From what I hear, the DV insert that comes with the Wand will work, but you may need to increase the temp to accommodate for the DV insert because it will absorb some heat.

I'm hoping that getting the 3.0 isn't a waste of money, even though I used the coupon. It would be nice to replace my 2.0 with something that can handle some heavier lifting when my Wand is dialed in for other devices (Tempest 2 wand adapter is always attached). I wish there was some public information on estimated timing of release. It's kind of annoying that there isn't and it's making me feel like this may be an unwise purchase until that information is available.

hey thanks for all the great feedback,
I think my yll 2.0 batteries are P28B's, I do have the brown default batteries but dont use them anymore because they are lower amps,I have 4x P28B's and use 2 on wand and 2 on yll 2.0

I will try out your settings next time I use it, I have been using the Inductor v2 lately with pretty good results

Yll told me a week ago that the 3.0 would be ready to ship in 2 weeks, but we'll see, I am hoping that the 3.0 is better than the 2.0 also.

thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, really appreciate you Sir!
