The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

I'm betting @Brenyo 's experience from his version one release will lead him to be certain that there is plenty of product available for version two's official release. I don't know any details, of course, but I do think Brenyo has his act together and will be ready.
Hope this goes better than my La Mixette order which never came
I'm sure it will, but I wanted to add that you should follow up on that La Mixette dish if you can as I truly love mine for transporting grinder goodness.

Hello everyone.

So, my wand arrived this week, and so far I have been very underwhelmed!

I'm using the ruby balls and mostly following the "HashOnMyMind" method detailed on page 382. But I'm getting really rubbish vapor production, far less than with a torch. I've tried between 300c and 350c, with the same results.

Do I need to buy better batteries, I'm using the ones that it was shipped with, or is there something obvious (to everyone but me) that I'm doing wrong?
I've never used the temps on the wand. It's just a timer anyway. Best use depends on battery quality/age/charge, ambient room temperature, ball type, desired roast level etc.

For these reasons I either time it myself, or use the click and VI as a guide. Currently I wait until the click then wait about 4-5 seconds over before checking VI. This gives me the deep roast I like to get.

@sherry_sherry I was going to tell you the same jaanky said: a bit of sanding could fix it, and fortunately.

@Caliban hello! Do you use the wand batteries? Or a different ones? Consider there is little differences between wands. Maybe you need a lower height setting. I notice there is a “maximum and minimum “ height, and, if it is not a good one, doesn’t matter you raise the wand temp +50C.
I would try to do the manual method and then, modify it.

I got mine in the mail today. In comparison to the simrell and the new convector it was very fast delivery. No customs trouble at all (experienced quite the opposite with the others and still waiting for customs to clear my convector v2 for about a week now…) @Brenyo perfect job :)

Looks far better than I expected from the pictures. For me its even not too bulky :)

Quite happy so far with the stock zirc balls. Tried the new wand adapter, but i ended up switching back to the glass one. The silicone the cap lies on during heating up make me nervous in some way 😅
Anyways, that v1 adapter works well.. 300C until time out (or a few sec before) are doing great for me.

However now I want to try the rubies.
Anyone got experiences regarding how much the wand temp should be adjusted in comparison to the zirc for similar roast?

Have i understood correctly that it should be a bit higher temp setting?

What can i expect? Less dense vapor, even more flavor for rubies vs zirc?

What I noticed too is that while pushing the og vi nearly to the 3rd mark it is straight combustion with the t2. I can only go slightly above the 2nd mark. And thats really darkish brown avb then.
Did you experience the same guys?

Likely the outer end of the spring is not in its place. Could you please take off the indicator housing and check?

I would recommend around + 40-50C compared to V1 with the same adapter.

Thanks for the feedback.
Can do that. Simply loose the screw and take the parts apart? Do I have to pay special attention to anything that can fall aprt and is complicated to fit back in place? Im not the most versatile guy in such matters 😅

Yes, just undo the screw and remove the whole indicator housing. You don’t have to take it apart any further, just check if the end of the spring is in it’s place. There is a video at the bottom of the manual of the v1, on the V2 it’s much easier to put the outer end in place.

Looks normal as far as i can say..

I get the second click slightly before the vi reaches the second mark. Is that normal?

Well, I sent messages, mails, used the web form. I can only start calling the guy on the telephone number or give my bank proof of me sending messages to him to get a refund (3 mixetes is not a lot of money ) but it's not worth the hassle...

But yea I really want it still. In the meantime, I ordered the inspecting tray from Labetkomp along with some other stuff, hoping it will be just as good :)

I also tried to purchase one a while ago. Disregarding the automatic reply to my order I never heard from them again and chose to charge back the purchase amount (I did buy via PayPal). Also tried contacting them via E-Mail, but never got an answer. I hope nothing serious happened to the person conducting this small business, but it seems they are out of business and forgot to turn off the web presence.

No unfortunately, but it will be available at VDN.

I’ve uploaded some new pictures to the website.
It will be available at the same time as the official website?

Sorry to hear about the EU shop... I didn't really have a bad experience, so sad to hear it closed down.
VDN stands for verdampftnochmal.de I believe? Very good shop, I will get those heatshields as soon as possible, wooden black and green and one sexy midnight. Can't wait!

No, I think there will be a small batch initially to make sure that there won’t be more QC issues from the factory.
Will we also be able to buy the v1 upgrade kit on Lacentralevapeur? Or just vdn in Europe?
I would guess so, if they order it then yes.

Oh, okay, good to know, thanks!

If you are able, give us a heads up to check VDN please :)
I cannot miss those wooden heatshields! :)

Refinished and anodised the mad gear again this time it was all done at the same time and so they're all the same colour - please note, the T2 was done weeks ago, so it's covered in marks, I was using that so couldn't do that one.

I'm buying better gear to do it soon too, so I'll be doing a proper job of them all again later in the year, in different colours this time. Never get bored of doing this stuff.

Ahh no was hoping for a silver one in the release model

Will there ever be a chance to get another ti, we can only hope :brow:

I like to have spares of my favourite vape, but I didn't want to steal someone else's joy of knowing a Tempest v2 by being greedy and buying more than one of the preorder models.
