The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

What an experience this is.
Great vape, the best there is out there maybe.

I always tended to clean the exterior of the heat chamber after heating a dry run with my Dynavap.
Now doing this with the tempest 2 I know there is a melting point of the microfibre, because when I noticed that, I instantly removed the cloth.

The tempest was left with leftover residue from the microfibre cloth, that needed 320-grid paper and one-hour-job to remove it.
Boy, I almost killed my new friend.... since then do they build microfibre meltable?

However what a great experience this vape is... in many ways. Yes really.

Couple weeks into Tempest 2 and I gotta say I'm a big fan - eventually managed to open the ball screen (I think I was mentally blocking myself from turning harder) and replaced them with the rubies and I love them! I'm honestly not very good at evaluating differences, I just stick to the same settings forever but they still just felt better to me. Also took me a while to figure out unscrewing the top to change the head airflow, no idea what it was set to by default tbh because after I changed it I realised I wouldn't have been able to tell, but I went with about 40%.

I have to ask about this because I feel a little crazy reading these threads sometimes - I vape at home almost exclusively and with a waterpiece almost exclusively, and I like big hits with big vapour, 1HE, and dark AVB - and I usually heat my T2 to 370C until timeout which is way higher than anyone ever mentions 😭 I did about the same on the T1, if not at a slightly lower temp, but I got a Wand late and used a torch for most of its life so I have no idea how that affects things. No idea if I have a battery issue, waterpiece difference, or I've just been a madman pushing the AVB to near combust every time. Which is true but I thought more people did that (I'm a bit of a casual) 🥺

Still, on the rubies there is almost zero risk of combust at that temperature which is part of why I enjoy it. I heard they were good for microdosing but it's been pretty good for the exact opposite too! Started on the 0.2g setting to see how it was, went down to the 0.15g recently, and I think I'll eventually go to the 0.1g. All hit super hard. Also I love the new wand adapter, kinda crusty attachment method but I can't argue with results, had to clean out the old one a lot but this one just works. I also want to shout out all the new parts, the machining is lovely, did my first clean and it was super easy, and idk if anybody relates to this but just looking at the new CCD while thinking about cleaning the old one gives me dopamine.

Microfibre cloths are woven micro plastic fibre. Not organic material.

I do not let plastic get near my vapes or food, most plastics shed fibres and particles constantly, our planet is full of it from the fish in the sea to the top of Everest. The dust on any floor, or desk is composed of skin bits, grit and fibres shed from clothing, furniture and bedding. Now predominantly plastic.

I do not like to eat or breath in plastic but it's very hard to avoid now, so the last thing I'll intentionally do is vape it!

I use organic cotton buds and cotton cloth for vape cleaning. I sometimes use ISO wipes if very dirty but always wash out after, as they are man made fibre.

Sorry for the diversion from V2 but for me it's a very important issue, these man made fibres and solid plastics contain some very very nasty chemicals.

"I’m very sorry, but the EU warehouse is no longer in operation and I won’t be able to get hold of your T2.
I’ve sent a refund, you should be able to order another full Ti from VDN in Germany around the end of the month. Sorry for the inconvenience once again. "

EU warehouse no longer in operation? Uhh. Will EU customers still be able to get the v1 upgrade kit etc.?

For those looking at polishing their tempests etc, I know @Brenyo has already posted a video and details of what sandpaper/polishing cream, but if anyone wants a simpler way, look for 'cape cod polishing cloths' - all you do is takes one out the pack, rub it for as long as you like and it'll get rid of micro scratches and marks from wear and tear. I've used them for years and they're awesome.
Over the last few days I've been refinishing a lot of my titanium parts, I've removed a lot of old anodising with these cloths, the metalwork looked great after working on them, and the refreshed anodising job looks really clean so they do give a really good finish to the metal.
The cloths also smell nice.

Does so. know why its not in operation anymore?
I am interested in this too. I was just chatting with a us maker in the community whose european partner has gone out of business because of the tariff uncertainty and the inability to quote accurate prices. I am wondering if this is something similar. In any case it seems like something unfortunate has happened and besides the jonesing ents in this thread I hope that not too many people are suffering because of this.

The silver polishing sticks from amazon work fine for all of my devices (ss & ti). For me its more convenient than operating with a polish paste. Its just the rougher side to get rid of the scratches (and oxidation, finger-fat burn marks) followed by the smoother side for the shining :)
And its just 10 bucks for 20 pcs

Oh, that is super interesting. I still have some of exactly these polishing cloths! Do you need to clean the head with iso after using them?

Can you also use them on Dyna caps? And they don't damage the material?

I've used those sticks before, yeah they're ok, but they can make a mess of things.
The main reason for suggesting the cloths is because you literally can't go wrong with them, it's just a soft cloth with some liquid soaked in it, no aggressive pastes or polishes etc, nothing hard, all you do it rub and it'll come up a nice level finish without much effort, give it a clean and your good to go.

@MegaChip use them on anything metal, so yeah fine on Dynavaps etc, if you want to polish the cap with one, just plug the bottom so none of the liquid can sneak up into the discs.

I stripped mine to bits after before using the cloths on it so it could be cleaned properly, yeah give them a good clean afterwards.

Is the silicone dynavap wand insert okay to use with the v1 tempest?

Found a few comments here of people saying it works fine and some reddit threads of conflicting info.

Also any sellers of the v1 madheaters insert in the US?

Ok i see. Can speak just for me and the ones i use (these from the simrell live streams) led to visually (and technically) flawless devices (fusion 2.0, tempest og, convector).

Of course I made sure all air holes were closed and after the treatment I made a proper iso soak to clean from any metal particles before usage.

Thats just my experience ✌️

the dynavap wand adapter worked for me on the v2, but I did switch back to using the v2 madheaters adapter for now as I'm still dialing in exactly what height I want to use and the dynavap adapter moves around a bit easier than I like for consistency while I'm still testing what I like to use the best.
