I'm the one who mentioned carbon footprint; it is the subject of the study written up in the article I posted.

It was only in relation to your one comment, the one I quoted, about how much money Elon has.
But looking back at my post, I guess the part that was "relative to the respone to the comment I (you) quoted" was the last paragraph;

Enlightened Centrists like to say that "both sides" in America have become too extreme. Too Far Right. Too Far Left. Much has been made about the "Far" Right in this country. Let me check in on the "Radical" Left for a moment.
There was a meeting in the SF Bay Area about a proposal to convert an old hotel into 100 units of housing for homeless residents. Let's see how Libs in the most "Left Wing" area of the country are taking it:
I was asking myself...if they don't want homeless people living on the street? And they don't want them living in a home? Where exactly do they want them to live? Then I realized the faulty premise in my question
So the Right Wingers in America want to put all the trans people in camps. The Liberals want to put all the homeless in camps. Very cool country
I don't think America is the most Right Wing country on the planet. You've got Hungary, Russia, Israel. Plus you have actual monarchies like Saudi Arabia. Theocracies like Afghanistan or Iran. But we're definitely up there.
Although most of those other Right Wing countries have free at point-of-service healthcare, so maybe we got a shot!

Yeah. In concept they want lower priced housing. Especially people with younger adult children who are now priced completely out of the market. But... homeowners do not want the price of housing to go down. Because that screws with their bottom line. And no one loves voting more than homeowners.
It's hard for me to even blame them. The only way for most people to build any sort of financial security in this country is to buy a house. Over time it will appreciate in value.
I wouldn't even have a problem with this...if wages kept up with the price of housing. Because if wages don't...then that financial security is being built on the backs of younger generations who are now priced out of the housing market.

Don’t forget the corporate builders who pushed out the independents and now you can only buy a $1M house because they make more money than doing neighborhoods of low to mid income homes and apartments.
Also. Don’t bring that bus or metro into my area, find some other way for the cleaning crews, restaurants and retail staff to get here.

I believe Florida is now the most unaffordable State. California is bad, but in The Free State wages are totally uncoupled from home prices.
Florida also has the third highest homeless population. For $13 million we could've put a big dent in that. Instead we blew it all on a Presidential campaign that was guaranteed to fail from the jump.
