Hi, I don't understand, sorry, the ceramic is flush with the silicone holder when correctly positionned, I can't see how you can push it deep inside the silicone holder but I never handled a beta Starry 4, there was probably small differences though.
Did you said you dislodged the part @MxMax dislodged, by only pushing by the mouthpiece side to dislodge the silicone?
The ceramic filter was pushed into the silicone. It was slightly past flush with the silicone so rather than trying to dislodge the ceramic by pulling on it, we pushed from the opposite side to push the silicone out after the mouthpiece tip was removed. When this was done, the bottom magnet part of the mouthpiece assembly came out too. We didn't know if this was by design and was supposed to come out. But seeing all the posts here, it seems like it should be stationary.

It didn't take much effort for us to get this part separated initially, but now after reinserting it, it seems "fixed" in place because the issue can't be reproduced. So one is left to ponder, since the part came out easily, could it have not been installed proper upon the initial assembly?

On the first cleaning, it was really gummed up internally as we had used the unit for a few weeks without cleaning to see how long it could go until the lack of basic maintenance disrupted the functionality (for us it was to the point where you could hear the accumulated resin in the mouthpiece assembly bubbling when taking a draw on the unit). We didn't let it go so long for the 2nd cleaning and put the device into a weekly cleaning rotation with some other devices requiring cleaning. The reason we pushed the ceramic filter in past flush (it was very slight, not deep) was so that the resin accumulating on the ceramic filter would not come in direct contact with the top of the Resin cup which was included with our Beta unit. If the Resin Cup wasn't removed promptly after a session, the sticky resin would remove the lid or even the entire cup when the mouthpiece assembly was removed from the main body.

Also, as stated above, we broke our ceramic filter during the initial cleaning out of the box as it popped out and landed on the tile floor in the shop, so we didn't want to use any further force on the part as it was already compromised where a corner of the filter on one side broke off upon impacting the floor. Really not sure if improvements were made upon the device itself between the beta we received and the mass production units to follow. If I had to guess, it was things like the new Dosing Capsule that were missing from the box as we got a Starry 3 printed box and VapeFiend Resin Cup instead of the mass produced Dosing Capsules designed for the Starry 4.

Thank you for the detailled explanation, based on your words I think the top lid wasn't initially well installed and I didn't know it was even removable. Since you now put it back in place, it will stay permanently attached.
The fact the dosing caps is attached to the top lid when you remove it after the device coldened happens with the Xmax V3Pro too, personnally I didn't found to be an issue. But the quick removal helps probably to keep the dosing caps cleaner for more sessions/reloads.

Yes, the ceramic insert is something to handle with care, I think replacements will be available soon though. Did you still not received the Starry 4 dosing caps, I believe I saw them for sales in your website?

As well, I'm using that bubbling sound like an indicator it's cleaning time, thank you for sharing!

We have the Starry 4 Dosing Capsules. I think that when our Beta unit was sent, the new Capsules weren't complete yet, so we received the Resin Cup instead. We have the Dosing Capsules available as a single capsule and the 5 Pack in the Travel Tube. When these arrived, it was the first that we got to use the official Dosing Capsules designed for the Starry 4. Glad that they have some backward compatibility with the Starry 3 too.

Happy to share our limited research on the Starry 4 in terms of cleaning!

They are talked about quite often by Canadian people as a good supplier of vapes as some US companies will not post there...they have many happy customers from FC.:2c:
Looks like the Starry 4.0 is available for sale in Australia,
And most of the usual Aussie sellers say it is due this month.
The gays/gals at XMAX sent me a unit to try and I will say the latest version fixes most of the cons the V3 had...looking forward to them releasing a ceramic WPA similar to the last version as I have heard great things about it.
Any idea on a release date for a ceramic WPA @XMAXVAPORIZER ? (I work for XVAPE, not XMAX so I have no clue...about a lot of things:lol:).
Does it vape better than the cfx+?

tell ya when it gets here from china
Mine just came today and I love it. I think this may be my new daily user. You may be able to get a smoother vape for a lot more money, but at this price point, its a great value. I love the replaceable battery, so I never have to wait to charge it. I like it better than my fury edge and just as much as my Dynavap. I can't wait until the WPA is released for it.

Just got it today. Not getting any kind of clouds. Packed it halfway. Not really getting anything at 400 or 420. It's heating up. It gets really hot but hardly any vapor. even tried fooling with the adjustable air and still nothing. Gonna try with the dosing cap. Ok tried with the dosing cap and still same.

Hi, the recommendation to fill the cup/chamber halfway isn't for the flowers, it looks like there is a mistake in the user guide about that recommendation cause, since the Starry 4 being conduction, it's better to load it rather full... and rather tight to allow the heat to be transferred from the wall to the entire load. Don't forget to grind your flowers, finer grind will produce thicker vapor.
As well, I don't know if you are used to vaporizers, the lighting is important to watch the vapor, vapor isn't smoke and could be difficult to see under some conditions, to enlight vapor I recommand you to blow it on horizontals lightstreams with dark background. Morning/evening sun is the best but a desktop spotlight can work too, on this videos you can see in youtube they are managing to enlight vapor perfectly.
Last, strains may have a huge impact on vapor production, in example cbd/low thc strains produce less vapor than high thc content and pretty resinous strains.
Please give it another try with the tips I gave you and different strains, if you are still thinking something is wrong it will be time to follow the warranty path, I will help if needed.
I did a hash sandwich and it worked fantastic. Huge hits and definately overmedicated but smiling big.
Great, if you want to taste your hasch only I suggest to "sandwich"it in-between 2 layers of degummed hemp fibers/natural coton for vaping purpose. This is will permit you to increase the heat without to get the bad taste of charred weed. I saw some US vendors is now selling hemp fibers (vgoodiez I believe, 420EDC...maybe), it's more common in Europe, a bag will last for forever!
Maybe I got a defective one 🤷
Maybe... give it more tests please, despite you didn't saw vapor, did you feel the heat and flavor? Did you was medicated? (vapor medication is somewhat different than the combustion reliefs, this difference is due to by-products produced by combustion, not by cannabinoids, with a vaporizer you'll get the true cannabinoids relief. Another tip, the Starry being conduction it's better to take slow draws in order to get more vapor, by taking fast draw you'll colden the chamber enough to stop/reduce vapor production. We will consider replacement if you still not get better results trying more tips.

I have about 10 or so vapes some convection some hybrid and one a conduction (IQC). So I'm not new to vapes. I tried packing the dosing cap and still underwhelmed. I'll try packing the whole oven next.

Sorry about the double post but it wouldn't let me edit my last post. Update I packed the whole bowl tight and then put the dosing cap lid on top as to not clog the ceramic filter. So I finally got some good clouds out of it. When I filled the dosing cap yesterday I had little vapor. This is gonna be a weed eater because the chamber is so big. Can you make a ceramic spacer like the IQC?

Are you half-packing the dosing capsule? That's what the manual suggests and it worked well for me.

It's good to know, hope it will work for you.

Thank you for the feedback, it's good to know you got best results, I'll transmit the request about a spacer.

No I filled the dosing capsules. I would think being conduction that it should be packed full
I think both technics can work, let me know...
