Introducing: The Inductor by Camouflet

Camouflet has been working to produce a robust ultra-fast induction heater for use with the Convector and other battery-free devices. Development has been taking place over the last few years in conjunction with the Convector. We have designed and built a modular desktop unit with swappable heads that are attached via a power cord. Our standard “lighter style” head allows for vaporizer devices to be placed flat on the surface of the handheld heater, instead of being dipped into a coil like traditional induction heater designs.

This is made possible by our Patent Pending “F-Core” heating technology. This type of coil with F-Core is completely new to the market. It allows Induction energy to be concentrated into a focal point, increases system efficiency, and allows much higher power than traditional induction heaters. See the video below of our ludicrous F-Core heat-up times.

At Camouflet, a commitment to sustainability drives the development of environmentally responsible products. Wherever possible we use wood instead of plastics, keep products simple for EOL recyclability and limit the number of custom circuit boards and electronics.

Technical Specs:

- 10 Amp at up to 29 Volts, DC Power Supply
- High energy transfer efficiency
- Up to 15ft cord length
- Small handheld footprint
- Adjustable power range

The Convector is designed to work well with a variety of heat sources but really shines when paired with our induction heaters. Our development goal has been to heat the convector in less than 2 seconds, bringing it into the “on-demand” class of vaporizers. With the Convector, our vision is for a joint-like experience where our induction lighter provides instant heat-up without clicks or counting.

This is really interesting how you've got it to heat without sitting inside the coil. 😁

That is really dope im interested, im all about fast heat up times if this turns out as advertized i may have to pick up a Convector
In not sure about a Dynavap or Dani in this, with too fast of a heat up the bowl doesn't get heat soaked, just the cap
It's the same reason I don't use a triple or quad torch on my Dynavap , this super fast heatup makes sense for the camouflet though for sure

Maybe with a different coil you would be ok I'm not really sure, just kinda talking out loud

I think only if the device is conduction based. If convection, as long as the heat source is hot enough, it should be fine. Although to your point, fast heat ups also mean fast cool downs. Wonder if cool down time could be a limiting factor to hit size

I'm with this guy hahahahaha

I am curious. You say it's powerful. And it has a focal point of heating? To me this means I could use an anvil with it similarly to the torch experience where I can pinpoint different temperatures and it'll be powerful enough to actually run the device. Maybe even before vestratto gets their heater out the door haha.

Would this work with a lotus, vapman, or even the new BFG castle?
It's gotta be magnetic for induction to work. The heat plate for the lotus is a nickel alloy and the cap man is copper a gold so birthed of them will work. Not sure about the bfg castle. Even with steel sometimes it won't work. The founders anvils are non able to work in induction whereas the production model would work.

We appreciate everyone's interest in The Inductor and hope to share more insight into its development as we progress.

this thing just blew my mind. sign me up!! Looks small and this is some new new heating tech. this is gonna open up some doors for new units in general. Serious props for the innovation
The Mind Blaster! We do hope The Inductor blows a few minds with our new F-Core heating tech.

When can I get one?!
We will be opening a waiting list soon. Please sign up for our email subscription list on the Camouflet.com website, located at the bottom footer of the homepage, to stay in the loop.

Can this be possibly powered by a power brick?
It is possible but not by a normal "USB" power brick. We are focusing on developing our desktop version for the robustness and power not readily afforded to batteries first.

The Inductor is different than traditional induction units. In short, it has the concentrated power to heat a wider range of materials. While Ferritic steels interact well, non-ferrous metals can also be heated. The heating has far more "focal Point" capabilities, so yes, you can use it as @Zuhdj describes. We've tested with many devices already and hope to release units into the wild so others can give more feedback.

An Early Gen Power Box (Stay tuned for pics of our new one!)
