Here's a little session showin heating times and heat retention

Could you try the same thing with a quad torch?

I’m almost certain that it gives a better heat soak than a single flame torch of any size, would love to see if that’s actually the case or just confirmation bias

With the one I have, a 20-25 second heat up gives you a total extraction and very dense vapour

I don't have quad, only dual.

Also with hash, or herb?

My torch video above I use a tradie torch
It's about 30 sec heat up and one big draw on the bong for full extraction too
I get similar with a smaller torch
I cherry it till it glows
I use ruby though
Also my videos are flower bowls

I got about 2 mins of sesh time on the pipe stem video with a wand heat up

Oh hey man I didn’t know you were on here!

I lurk VA and loved reading your comments in the baller thread, found the information very handy - think I’m going to give the B2cvape head you got from Ali a try

Back on topic.. I use ruby too, definitely helps with those one heat cycle extractions

Your experience sounds very similar to mine, although I have to time my heat ups because the quad torch spreads the heat more and doesn’t cherry quite so visibly

@Abele Rizieri Ferrari

I use mine with flower mostly. Do you exclusively use hash or flower?

I’d definitely recommend getting a cheap quad to try out if you’re yet to, mine was around £15 from Amazon so not too costly.

Sat here puffing on my TA and it’s got me thinking. This is pretty much the only portable butane vape with a heater that the user can totally tear down and rebuild, and make it perform exactly as they desire.

Thermal mass, material choice, airflow, size of material, mixture of material size and type. That’s a fairly comprehensive list of options for the user to tinker with

Like, you could fill this thing with diamonds if you wanted.. how’s that as an option for the user

I think this feature will keep the TA alive and relevant for a long time, much like DV choosing to be “open source” from so early on

I’ve spent the last few days playing with smaller multi-jet lighters rather than the mini brûlée torch with great results.

The stopwatch is out again rather than watching for the cherry but the vapour pours out and seems lower temp yet with great heat retention so the bowl is fully extracted in a slower manner.

I’m running around 45 - 50 secs with a Double Zippo jet and no- name triple, while the brûlée torch I just wait for the cherry to blossom.

:peace:

I’m loving whole nugs in this thing. It suits its puffing style super well. The only issue is I need to keep a dynavap cap with me so I can dig the herb out of the bowl. Would be sick as if the TA had a built in digger outter tool.

I’m also really noticing the draw restriction the more I use this. I’d originally bought it to do one and done giant ball vape hits. I think I prefer just puffing on this thing like it’s a cigar.

This was my experience! Bought one to replace the Anvil but then slowly realised that the TA has a charm that is all it’s own, and now use it in a totally different “vapman inspired” style

Also, take a pocket knife to one of the bamboo skewers PP includes. Cut an inch or so piece off and then slice at a slant into one end - makes a perfect debowler on that end and then you can use the flat end as a screen install tool :)

Big thank you to everyone taking part in the thread.
There are only about 100 TA out there and a very low percentage of people actually post feedback or videos but it's been enough to spread the word. Slowly but surely is fine with me.
If all goes well then there will be plenty for everyone when spring arrives, this is not set in stone.
@VGOODIEZ should all be stocked up as well as a UK and EU retailer.

A few people have questioned the ability to get multiple draws from greenery so I took another one for the team.
The easiest way to get a decent 'session' going with flower is just to cram lumps in the bowl. As long as you don't pack so tight you restrict the draw you are good to go.

Cherry the top third or so, if you dare.

Always difficult to get the actual colours in a picture. This was not bone dry flower to start with.

After it's been pulled out of the bowl.

Then back in it goes until it's spent. The heater matrix had about 60-90 seconds cool down while I got the pictures.
Ten seconds less on the heat application this time.

The dross.

@VGOODIEZ now stock rayon for anyone who'd like to give it a whirl.
Loading little fluffy balls is easy and it's biodegradable. Nice to be able to fill a small pot with preloads.

Yeah I was trying to think about that before, not sure where it could be, maybe a stick coming out of the side of the cap handling packing tool...? Although I always have a little tool with me at the table anyway so it's not really a practical issue for me at least to debowl at any time (I have a cute little octopus I use, not sure if it was visible in my prior photos here so I'll have to take more to post soon lol)

Unfortunately I have been neglecting my TA as I am testing another new thing the past few weeks... I love the TA though and need to whip it out again, it has been calling me! :haw:

About half of this is bound for the double entendre thread....

Anyone in EU looking for the recommended rayon, I've found this company stocks it. I think the 5 m I ordered will last me a life time.

Some data to help you decide what balls you’re going to stuff in there and suck on ;)

Glass balls-
Thermal conductivity 3 W/ (m·K)
Heat Capacity 741 J/g K

Ruby balls-
Thermal conductivity 40 W/ (m·K)
Heat Capacity 750 J/g K

SiC balls-
Thermal conductivity 120 W/ (m·K)
Heat Capacity 510 J/g K

And one for the lottery winners:

Diamond balls-
Thermal conductivity 1000 W/ (m·K)
Heat Capacity 1000 J/g K
Wow that looks oddly familiar for some reason.

That’s nice to know, thanks for sharing :)

Although I think you may be lost. This is a TA product thread, not an “information planck has read before” thread

If there’s some kind of indirect point wrapped in that statement (which I feel there is) please feel free to PM me and discuss as adults

Not nice. As advised, you should have used a PM. Warning point issued.
Wow that's your final answer? Buzzzt wrong answer.

One correct answer would be of course it's familiar Planck I lifted it from a post you made in ball vape thread on another site, not some passive aggressive bullshit reply like you chose to run with.

Even "Interesting" with a big grin would have been acceptable and your source could have remained our little secret.

I'm not expecting the keys to the city for my effort but I did do the actual work, well over an hour putting the list together that you copied and post here. So no I will not accept some smarmy ass post from you as a reward for that effort.

Additionally since you actually have no idea what you are doing you failed to even "edit" it correctly, the first item values are for quartz not "glass". Thermal conductivity of glass about 1 W/ (m·K) not 3 W/ (m·K)

Classy move bro.
