I've been reading each page--the advice on packing and Temps are in there for the original UD. I'm not to the comparisons you want yet, but I love savoring the way UD started (like with silicon tubes). I'm eyeballing the Alpha+ pieces on the web site. I think I know this: one thing the Alpha+ has is their longest "folded" (?) metal path (?), longer than my Alpha X which is longer than the Alpha.
Thanks very much for your feedback. Yeah I have read the whole thread and I was not really looking for a straight comparison but just what is the WOW, and I think I found a post by @Razhumikin in another thread where he talks about the Alfa +, with that and my experience with the Alfa, I will consider an Alfa+ when a new batch is available in the future. But I am really enjoying my Alfa, especially with the Nylon Direct Draw and the 18/19mm NonG, a couple of bowls for one -two tasty hit in the morning will help me go through my day for a long time without the need for another bowl. My preferred first vape to use before I start my day. So I look forward to trying the Alfa+. Thanks again @underdog and @underdogette for these great tools and beauties of dogs, and I wish then all the best for the year to come.

I also answered because I thought I would test my knowledge, but I find that all the log and splinter info is merging into a vortex IN my head. Alpha have the same diameter bowl sizes

Good to know. I do bed herb option for oil and hash, but I do hash in a dedicated ss long stem without the herb bed too.
So maybe I'll use my UD stainless stem and therefore I must need a dedicated Dog for juicier hits...but one could use an ACXL with their stainless stem for a somewhat cheaper approach, right?

Did you all know the site went on sale just now? I must have missed the announcement, but I can finally get the Purple Days cherry Lost Dog revision! And some logs are 58% off! These holidaze sales are killing me oh so softly!

Yeah, I got my Alfa Plus! The Paradise Curly Oak. So happy and thrilled 😄! I never thought I would go beyond a SC3 core but I have enjoyed so much each of the dogs i have been blessed to own and use.
That curly oak is so haunting and full of stories--great purchase!

Hey, @Grass Yes , @coolbreeze 's hopes haven't come true yet...:cool:

Blessed are the merciful....
Excellent! I loved the cocobolo too, @Razhumikin ...great looking piece! But that cherry PD mod had been calling my name for a while, especially after watching Vito use a similar looking device to massage his painful legs ("it's a multitasker, honey!")

@BakedDiogenes I kept staring at that oak too--it's very fascinating how oak looks like it's perpetually pulling apart. Very dramatic!

In case you didnt know, they further dropped the price of the remaining alpha+ dogs; they can be had for under $250 if you already have a vvps and stems. This is a pretty outrageous deal, and i had already been eyeing that tiered FYT alpha+, so I couldnt really help myself. If you have any interest in owning one of these rare beasts I would recommend picking the last two up while you get a chance. Im not sure youll ever see an alpha+ available for the price of a sc3+ again.

I had been eying that tiered locust FYT for a while, so congrats! I just couldn't pass up the FYT locust with the pointed, asymmetrical lip that I had also been watching for a while. Back to reading these fascinating forums...

I’ll get her warmed up and report back

Edit:

@GoldenBud, as requested.

My scale wouldn’t read .1, so .2 was the best I could do.
