Herbie V2 by Vape Engineering - 510 dry herb vaporizer

Did anyone try a big spiral coil (2nd row, on the left side) that is as close to the screen as possible (without touching the screen ofc) and that is BIGGER than the chamber itself? I think it should give decent results.

Edit:
I keep thinking about how I have to try to set mine up, and install Alan's Galaxy coil, I never even cleaned mine to get ready for use yet!
It should work, let us know!

If anyone is into this one I'll send them mine free of charge because I think I'm not to handy or knowledgeable on coils and oms and such to get her to where she needs to be. Just shoot a pm to me:tup:
I'd love to try to make it work!

I used 2 coils in an X with 9 winds each. Top one was larger. Both used the same length of wire
(they have to)

Set on SS, you can draw for ever. 30 seconds, as hard or slow as you want using a good mod.
I have terrible luck with the Wismec. Others work great on temp control with the 316 SS home made coils.

I still have the little deflector inside. If I take it out, it becomes a combustible fucker.

Using a stem pod, or B1

I totally forgot I even had this thing until I knocked over the Pico it’s screwed into. GOD I wanted this thing to work flawlessly or at least Stempod-quality. I got a good hit about 10% of the time. And it wasn’t worth the stirring or the S&B capsule loading etc. Just too much work when you can get a perfect hit from so many other convection vapes now like the Tinymight etc. It was just clear that the creators of the Herbie 1 abs V2 are people who don’t use marijuana themselves at all, which is a fact. They put the marshmallow too close to the campfire. I went through a good 60 of those SS mesh screens that make a couple coils each and no consistency.

Hope it's okay for me to post here. Here's another coil design I've tried, this one mesh.

I really liked it at first. It was very hard to make it glow, which was my favorite thing about it. It was hard getting an even roast on wattage, I don't even bother with TCR anymore. I feel like it could work well if you all want to try dialing in the TCR.

This thing is a huge PITA. I’ve got a ton of other vapes but after 11 months I still waste my time and herb trying to get this SOB to get consistent hits. It’s like driving a car that goes 500mph with no knob on the gear shift or something. Thin line between vapor/combustion to say the least.

Just give it up dude, not worth your time. Mine has been sitting unused in a drawer since two days after i got it. I wont sell it, not gonna do that to someone.

I still have not tried to install Alan's galaxy coil into mine (I mean I also never tried installing the stock heaters once I got them, never did an initial clean of the Herbie shell or anything yet either) just way too lazy to bother, because then it's a whole setup after that lol not sure it would fit my style anyway

FWIW I don't know alot of companies that let you use the product and send it back if it's not the vape for you. However if they said that they should honor it. It seems like public blast is the only way to get a`hold of them. I would also be very surprised if any of the product engineers actually used the product.

The best products come from people who are first, dedicated hobbyists.

Paramour mod imo gave worryingly inconsistent results with my other 510s.

That being said I sold my unit before trying it so I have refrained to comment anything negative.

Something fishy is definitely going on.
The guys who designed the Herbie V2 don’t even use cannabis. Their product is just plain bad. I mean, unless you want to pay somebody else to fold your mesh strip for you. I got 30 of those mesh strips and used 2/3 of them and probably get 1 decent hit for every 10 combusting hit. Vape Engineering is just two guys who tinkered and never even thought they’d sell a single Herbie V2, they admitted it. I’m sure they didn’t let this dude return his atomizer after using it. Sadly there are no good 510 atomizers for herb. The Stempod Si is totally hit or miss and leaves coil hotspots, DreamWood is a rip off and tastes like wood. Everybody loved the atomizers that RBT put out so naturally they stopped producing them just like the Impcognito and other still sought after 510 atomizers for herb. The DT DC Gen 2 is conduction and sucks. Just a bunch of box mods from previously vaping e juice like a douche bag all dressed up with nowhere to go. I’d love a semi decent 510 atomizer to buy.

I know. I have so many other vapes that are great but I still love box mods from when I vaped e juice years ago like a tool. It’s clear there are no more 510 atomizers for herb that are available that don’t suck. How did they make the Herbie V2 so terrible? Lol. I gave it up last April and it just popped up the other day. Plus the maintenance kit I bought from Vape Engineering last December when it was released came with a ton of strips of mesh and 2mm balls. Wish they’d have made a better device!

Did you try reaching out to Alan for the Galaxy coil too? iHeat is pretty limited supply so the rest to be made could already be spoken for based on the supply of decks though people are still waiting for them to be made...? Making / installing heaters, not me!

It took me 10 months to get the Herbie to where I can actually use it and get decent clouds without combusting. That doesn’t qualify as “ready out of the box to me.” I also went through a ton of mesh strips and now VapeEngineering has none of them for sale. It’s safe to say this product is a bust.

I know this is a bit of a dead thread but a basket screen fits nicely in there and seems to be doing a great job. I plan on picking up some of the ceramic heaters from divine tribe to see if I can get one of them to work with it. At the moment I am just feathering the button like a manual vape to keep the heat up. Here is a pic of the basket though.

I've tried the ceramic rods from the Quartz Quest on a stem pod before. They took too much power to reach vaporization temps. Bad on battery and it made the atomizer HOT. Not trying to discourage you though.

It did give me super even ABV.

Thats good to know about the ceramic. They have the little donut ones also but I am guessing they need quite a bit of power to hit temp, I would trade battery efficiency for consistency though. I have more playing around to do with settings.

Interesting, never thought about the donuts. Maybe stack two of them on top of each other as separate coils. Keep us updated if you try them out.

Have you looked into wax pens? Great use for your box mods if you use concentrate. Wax atomizers are much easier to use than herb atomizers, in my opinion.

Well. Before giving the atomizer to a friend i tried one last strange thing. I moded a CAT coil to use it on the herbie.
It needs a lot of energy, a little time and the herbie gets hot af…but! No stirring, no combustion. It has been the only time that in all the tests with my herbie in which I have not had problems beyond the message of "too hot":lol: (im going to give it to my friend anyways)
