moded a CAT coil to use it on the herbie.

I am curious how safe the ruby beads with holes through them are for this use? Seems like it could be okay, but things change with heat, I'm not sure if the integrity of the ruby would be compromised (like how people would warn against using ruby beads that have holes in them for heater mass due to structural integrity for cracks and dust etc) although it looks like it would be an effective convection heater in theory at least!

I need to bundle my Herbie and Galaxy coil from Alan in a photo so I can list it for sale, never tried initial cleaning or to use or set up a single thing I have and think it could be good for someone who likes to tinker...

In the cat it is a good heater (it is paired with another coil, with a helix form factor too but smaller and without rubies). But the cat heat it faster and it doesnt get hot….in the herbie it needs more time and the ato becomes the hell on earth the herbie would need a fast heater…but i didnt find anything without wasting tons of herb combusting

Oh yeah that makes sense, all that ruby mass, too hot for a metal shell, probably best to stick with steel mesh here, that heats fast but also cools fast

I don't know what a flex mesh coil is, nor do I have a photo of mine, but I think there might be one somewhere in this thread? Or better yet just check the iHeat thread since it is the same one as there

Posting this to list the settings I use for the Herbie V2 Vape. 1st set on wattage mode 26.5 to 27 Watts, even through water it's fine nice flavourful clouds. I'm using the standard steel coil it comes with if you get the full V2 kit. Also it does get hot but not as much if you place it deeper inside your lips and breathe in As opposed to resting them on the edge. The setting for the coil appears to be 0.16 Ohms 000v don't ask me how I arrived at any of these just trial and error but it works right now I'm nicely dosodo"d up courtesy of the Herbie even play with lower temps 13.2 -5 anywhere between that range and I'll think you will find it hits the spot 6 second Inhales let me know if it works cheers

Ok final update and add the temp balls into the lid between the top and the screen as the top screen holds them in place set to 26 pure and try that one 6 sec bursts again i've not been this spannered in a long time and its does'nt get hot now well not until about 8 or 9 rips in peace

New user here, just getting into the topic of vaping herbs instead of lighting them on fire.
I have been vaping e-juice though for years and I am really wondering, why it is so hard to create a good 510 atomizer for herbs. I thought I found the perfect device here, but some of the reviews here indicate it is not working as expected.

What I ask myself is why?
Modern boxmods have temperature control and with this, the temp of the air flowing around should be consistent, no?

I think you are missing the key element here, which is the heating element, you have to connect that and then set up the control for pure convection, which is tricky as the temp control is extremely relative and subjective then... This one was not well designed or tested by the manufacturers, so most people struggle, but I think there is a way with the right heating element and setup to get it going (@Bababouy did you ever try that galaxy coil I had from Alan??) however it can also be tricky with the complete steel body here overheating... I'm sure there are plenty of people who would sell you theirs though

I think you were posting in another thread asking generally about this type of vape, there were a wide variety of 510 powered pure convection on demand vapes, however most of them required a lot of DIY setup, trial and error to configure out of the box, etc....

I got the herbie working really well for a while, then it stopped. Maybe it was an old stoners imagination. It thought me a lesson in honeymoon periods.

Perform a chargeback through your credit card company, as far as I know they had went out of business a long time ago and this product was discontinued? I didn't think they were available for sale anywhere now

Yeah I would suggest looking through ask FC, there are plenty of threads of people asking with plenty of recommendations...

510 options are more limited these days, stempod was discontinued I think? Splinter also not easy to get anymore, iHeat, not sure if the shammer is still around?? Or cosmic xtractor... Dreamwood Glow is still available however and might be the most appealing for you if the Herbie attracted attention??? These are all pure convection on demand 510 powered vapes, most use the stem as mouthpiece and chamber

Yeah you might have more luck not trying to use the 510 in this case, I wouldn't bother with the FF2+ as Firefly has also recently gone out of business so that is discontinued and pretty frustrating to use regardless... The hex is basic session conduction, simple but not at all the same as these others...

I would suggest tinymight if you want to go for the high end, on demand pure convection with a full temp range, and you might be able to save with an older model, but you could also try xlux roffu or xmax v3pro as versatile options although they are not as nice they are capable and cheap
