Tetra P80

Hey guys. I'm about to receive my tetra p80 I bought off the classifieds today and just ordered the glass WPA adapter from Lamart. I would like to buy an additional battery or 2 and wanted your guys recommendation for the best batteries for these and a charger. Price is not an issue. Just want to buy once and cry once. Any recommendations?

My Tetra P80 finally arrived but the stem was cracked in 3 pieces so I’m paranoid about issues with the P80. The package might have been dropped pretty hard.

Is the heater supposed to be this far down the stem?
Little particles are getting stuck already:
it looks 100% like mine, glad your TP80 is in great shape and the stem which is less important is the one which is broken.....!
please upload more photos of this colorful unit....

and yeah you figured out why people prefer using it upside down..... the tubo's old heater screen probably can't be placed with 4 tubes..... no cleaning needed when it's upside down...

Phew that’s a relief, GoldenBud! The particles isnt an issue?
I don't use it natively because of that, although your stem-bubbler looks like it gives a lot of coolness to the vapor... if you want to extract it like that you'll need to brush it from time to time..(S&B Brush for example)
I just mine only with WPA. Wood or glass

if you pay little money for weed, just vape whole nugs. no small particles and the effects + taste are incredible. did that 1h ago and it's so good

Actually that is a recent change to the design, having the heater lower with such a wide gap between the walls and the screen, my previous TP80 were not like that... The heater screen covers a bit more, and it looks different inside, must be using different glass internals now... I think it is better, but it is definitely worse for crumbs!

The particles isnt an issue?

That depends on you really, there is not any practical issue, supposedly particles down there overcooked could spoil taste a bit and purity, with gentle toothpick poking upside down you should be able to dislodge, gentle tapping on the body of the TP80 too...

Yes especially with this new one I am only using it upside down to keep it extra pristine, even so a little crumb found its way there haha if you want to be extra safe you can use another basket screen to cap your load if you are filling the joint, or you can flatten a basket screen to use it as a cap on another basket screen.. I don't like doing this because it hinders performance in my experience, so I prefer to just keep my TP80 upside down at all times!

Ralph will send you a replacement stem, just let him know it arrived broken, and enjoy, my blue orange box elder burl brother

... Did you not see my reply? Molicell...
I did not, sorry bro!!!

Yes I see it now. Sorry I missed it. Any preference between the 26a or 28a? I know nothing about batteries. Any advantage of one over the other?

I don't remember, but it's listed on the site, not much difference, like 17 CHF versus 24 CHF maybe?

There must have been some miscommunication, about exactly what the issue was with your order...?

You wouldn't want to soak it because of the wrap, he would have to fill the inside of the whip (I'm not sure it would harm the wrap, but I sure as hell would not soak it that way or try to remove the tubing from the wrap myself)

Oh nice, yeah this one only has one lamart stem, smoked nub that probably came with it, exotic wood but in the old box style without drum so that makes it a bit cheaper as well, includes a whip adapter and short plain splinter stem it looks like...

Molicell P26A or P28A, from 18650batterystore.com, with whatever external charger there, I think this was already asked here very recently in fact...?

Did you score the curly mango TP80?? Love that one... By the way you can use any male to male adapter as a WPA, you don't have to wait for the one from Lamart, they're easy to find most anywhere and use with rimmed basket screens

Yes the black heart mango with silver

All good, by the way instead of posting back to back, you can press the quote button, instead of the reply button, to collect multiple quotes, then reply at once in one post inserting them at the bottom left... Anyway it doesn't really matter which Molicell if you can get the p28 they have slightly more capacity so you can eke out a little more use before recharging, what's good about them both though is that they have a high amp rating, that's what keeps the performance consistent throughout the charge and helps you get the most out of the TP80 per cell since it can be a bit of a battery hog (there are some other cells from other brands that have more capacity but lower amps so I don't think they're performance is quite as good, but Sony VTC6 are very solid, just more expensive, I like Molicell better for this use). Congratulations I hope you enjoy it!

Ok it's not that different. It's good to hear that you never got any issue with untracked shipping.
I wouldn't risk losing a package for a device worth 350+ CHF, so I would only go with tracking.

Juice box? Rocket vape?

This was my first choice after perusing the units pre drop so I feel pretty damn lucky. Been chasing one of these for over a year now and I'm very pleased. Something about the colors and the design reminded me of images of the swirls in Jupiter's atmosphere. Long stem and walnut mouthpiece credit to Highartisan.

Thanks to you all for providing the information I needed to educate myself about this vape and its accessories. So many searches and reading but it's all there and I appreciate it immensely.

Yeah it sucks about the stem but I already have 3 new ones from Lamart on the way.

Any of my EU friends know a good site selling 19/22mm stems? Tired of getting fucked by danish customs. I payed 33% of the price of the P80 just in customs fee and as a thank you it was probably them who broke the stem

What is everyone's favorite method of cleaning the sides of the heater where plant material gets stuck? It's pretty disappointing seeing it build up. How about the heater screen itself? Is it safe to lightly scrub with a q tip and some iso?

Storz Bickel brush...
Q tip with iso/ethanol is possible too when the heater is cold....

the buildup, IMHO, doesn't fact the performance too much but it may affect the taste

is this thing on?
If you use it upside down... there will be close to zero build up in a year of daily use. Then again it may also come down to what your vaping style is. I use high heat and fast extraction, it may play a role in it I guess?
Cleaning with ethanol always works better on warm to hot surfaces so I would Q-Tip it straight after you had it in use though

I would just brush it out or invert the unit and gently blow from the air intake. I’m surprised you’re having this issue though. I am not one to exclusively use my p80 upside down. It’s not a big deal if I need to brush out the heater screen. I take the first hit inverted to kind of melt the resins and hold my bowl in place, but otherwise I use it in the normal right side up fashion and this isn’t an issue for me.

Oh yeah, and a q-tip with iso is fine for the sides of the heater and the screen. I do this myself, and I was once uber-paranoid about keeping my unit pristine I emailed Ralph first to check :). I do use 99% ISO though, for whatever that is worth. I bet anything high (above 90, not the standard 70% you get at drug stores) is fine.
