I suspect that it has more to do with worries about the cap not staying on the device, when it is now a superheated cap. Not that it wouldn’t work on non-captive, but that the OG cap might be more likely to fall off and seriously injure someone. Dynabrands are cute and all, but this could do so much more damage
I've been using mine with a OG cap, it's been fine.

Heed the warnings gang. I tried the fmj on a low temp cap natively. I tightened the cap so it was secure, even checked it by waving around the DV. After I torched it, it slipped right off. Luckily, I was fully clothed  (might have given a whole new meaning to "ball mod").

But seriously, if you're going native, you should use a captive cap.

Edit: I just reread my comment. "Going native" meaning the native setup. Not to be confused with nakedness.

Edit 2: Nevermind my first edit. Recommendation is still the same no matter how you look at it.

I installed the FMJ on a 20 SS “M”. I can only use it in my work shop after a blazing hot cap fell off, Because it’s loose. Pinching it tight has yet to correct the situation. I use the half bowl in my set up. Works fine and I’m getting a full extraction in one heating cycle. I also feel that the click is not as loud as before the installation so the first couple of try’s I was combusting the herb. I might only use it with a wpa and a bong.

I have a question... off the fmj topic...

So, my AzuriuM 21 tip was having its blue paint flaking off, so DynaVap sent me a cap (meant to send a tip lol). So i contact them and they set up another order, but for another AzuriuM tip. I asked for a plain SS tip as i have asthma and cant afford any metal particles to be floating around where i breathe. So I contact them again, they cancel that order and setup another. This time with some extras. One thing I noticed was a C-Vap 2 pack was added to my order.... what the heck is it? Another stem? A full vape? Im only a couple months into the Dynaverse so forgive me if that was dumb lol

sounds like two complete coppery vapes made up of second choice parts, for turning on friends!
Ahh gotcha. Wasn't sure wtf it was lol thanks :)

Found out what it is. Its copper coloured but not copper apparently. Its an M made up of factory second parts fom what this article says. They tend to be given out so u can give them to friends or bought as $5 add-ons. Seems pretty cool tbh. I'm interested to see how they stand up against my '21 M.

Edited: to add info and link i found about C-Vap.

Grabbed a two tone stash for my favorite favorite out and about stem. What a good looking pair.

C-vaps are awesome! Because they’re made of older parts you’ll sometimes get some parts off them that perform better than the new stuff that you’ve paid for

My last two c-vaps, I got a 19M tip with deep airflow grooves and a blue-purple regular cap with “karma” engraved on it that performed crazy good with a torch.

You can also get unlucky though, and basically get a pair of 20M’s with copper colouring

I always politely ask for some in the notes of any DV order, they’ll usually come through

Only one I ever got is a perfectly fine 2019 M with a captive cap. They roasted it to such a nice color I kept it and gave up a '20 M in its place. 😎

So is the FMJ a game changer for DV? Provided the low price. I have a simrell vortex that I don't use. Does the FMJ supercharge it? Also I understand that its better to use CC but what about the half bowl converter and the IH? I use exclusively DV with half bowl converter and IH.

@condition the FMJ turned my Dynavaps into a slightly different vape. For new users it might be a good way to get a milky hit. I’m gravitating back to an OG setup for every day and using the FMJ as more of a novelty. If you have the skills the stock Dynavap will out preforms the FMJ or possibly give the same results just no spinning.

Same here, I kept my 19M karmavap, and gave away a stock 20M. Me and the 20 have never figured out how to get along, though I love and appreciate all the other Ms, and wish I hadn’t given my 17 away when I got my 18…

I kinda dig the white one to be perfectly honest. 😬
I could sorta see it with the Obsidium tip/condenser...

I think my big problem is less the colors (which are not favs) than the opacity. Like with the Vongi sleeves, it just looked kinda cheap and half-hearted to me. They would have bothered me less as clear coatings. Just my own tastes, I guess.

Thank you can you clarify, the skills you mentioned apply for IH as well, or just torch? I have a IH Apollo Rover 2 and Orion 2 IH, both by DV. For vaporizers I own old Omni, new Omni and Vortex, some caps and the half bowl divider.

Still I use less and less in favor of other vapes, as I cannot achieve constantly good taste and the terps are still visible in the ABV, not proper extraction. Also on stirring when I remove the stirring tool, part of the (half vaped) mini dose drops out of the tip. I use the divider and the amount I load is minimal. After couple of draws I need to stir. The half vaped weed inside the half bowl has more volume than the green weed. So it's very difficult to remove the stirring tool, no matter how thin it is, without dropping some of the very small load.

@condition You should not have to stir between hits. If you really feel the need, you can pack less with a full bowl setting, leaving more space for you to stir, but again it should not be necessary. This is one of the main benefits of the DV.

Try just heating a little bit longer if you're not getting satisfying hits with your IH.

It sounds like you're packing too tight, that's the only time I ever have a remotely uneven heating.

Stirring is only really helpful with wide oven vapes where the heat can't penetrate to the center, and convection vapes where the edges stay green. In this case I imagine it's the middle which is green, which can be easily solved with a looser pack.
