There is one person I would love to hear from here in the forum, and that is @VGOODIEZ .
There was a time that @VGOODIEZ told us he would act as some kind of informal communications rep for HL. (I do hope he corrects any mis-statements I may make here.) And I know for a time he was being helpful to some Hopper owners with issues.
As a retailer who carries Grasshopper line, he also has said that based on his conversations and relationship he thought they were worth the effort (or some such thing).
@VGOODIEZ is an experienced retailer and active FC'er.
So, I'd really love to hear @VGOODIEZ assessment of the state of affairs at Hopper Labs today?

I don't mean this to sound nasty or accusatory, simply inquisitive.
I still help people as much as possible but there is little I can do. I don't have access to their systems and have not had a debrief in some time on the state of affairs there. Last I spoke they had gotten through a lot of the backlog but not completely. In the past getting anodized parts for warranty was an issue. I suspect it still is. Happy to help wherever I can. Folks should be working through the portal on their case and product questions can be written to support@thehopper.io

Hey there @VGOODIEZ - I hope all is good with you bro.
Unfortunately Hopper Labs don't currently appear to be responding to anyone that we know of, via either the portal or email.
Last I heard was my replacement io body was going to be sent out later that week - back in October - but I have heard nothing since despite sending messages on the portal & email to support@thehopper.io requesting an update.
I pre-ordered the io when it first launched & I am yet to experience a correctly working device since mine combusted on first use when it arrived back in April last year.
Others here are in a similar position.
Even the most hardcore of supporters are feeling abandonded.

I'm hoping it's just the usual Hopper Labs merry-go-round and they've gone quiet cuz they're working on a new device which will be announced & available for pre-order real soon . . . . .

This is concerning. I will see if I can schedule some time and see what's going on.

I do not have an Hopper anymore. But i saw in a Europe shop a very good price for a
Performance Front End. - only 5,99 Euro
Maybe it helps for others. :)

Placed an order for a bubbler, some batteries and priority shipping over a week ago.

Nothing, no shipping email.

Emailed them to add in an additional front heater a few days ago, to arrange payment and to check on my open order.

Nothing, no reply as of yet.

Such a frustrating company to deal with!

Did you see the banner on their site? The one about nearly everything requiring “lead time” these days? This is why I didn’t bite the bullet and purchase a new replacement body for my IO. Luckily I was contacted by someone on FC offering me one of his two gently used bodies in great shape. I consummated a private transaction with him over the weekend and it’s on its way to me. Good luck, everyone, getting any response from HL these days. Again, the sound of silence from HL is deafening… :peace:

Can't say I saw the banner when ordering, but I probably would have placed the order anyways - as no where else to get the batteries from!

Either that or there’s a 3rd party power adapter that was briefly sold for the Hopper. Search for Maxvapor in this thread I think. I enjoy the portability so batts are a must for me and the power sled/adapter doesn’t do much for me. I won’t go into the HL batteries diatribe again either. :peace:

Oh wow, does that actually work?

I was reading about it before due to tempremental batteries and I was unsure whether the vendor who made it was trustworthy, based off some comments I had seen on this board.

Anyways, they seem to be out of stock but will keep this in mind in case. :)

HL has been miserable about answering inquiries, and also about fulfilling orders.
With all respect, I believe buying priorty shipping will be small relief when the order takes forever to leave the shop.
Were you able to put a bubbler in your cart and pay for it?

When I just visited the site, there were some items that only say "coming soon" and those could not be put in cart. Among them, Steel Case, fancy Battery Charger, Spare Hopper Body(!) and the Bubbler.
So, at least they've finally stopped taking in money for things they've never sold (like the steel case, charger).

I also ordered a drip tip, which is no longer on either site, so unsure of whats going on here.

Don't mind waiting, as long as given an ETA; but knowing that this is hopper labs who knows when I will even get that info. I just want to use my vape! :D

yeah the ac adapter works, but as with anything hopper some OGs and some IOs seem to not work with the recommended power bricks, so its a bit hit and miss.
I got one with only 5A that works with my ti IO but I havent heard back from anyone else so I might just have gotten lucky...

I think my final tally was 1 IO Hopper and 1 OG Hopper that absolutely refused to work with the AC adapters. That is from a total of 4 IO Hoppers and probably 6-8 OG Hoppers. I have 2 adapters and 3 different power supplies (two of which have the same specs, so I didn't test them individually).

None of my IO Hoppers worked with the 5A PS. All but one IO Hopper worked with the 10A PS. All but one OG Hopper worked with the 5A PS.

I didn't bother testing the 18650 battery sleds much - no real interest. It would be a very awkward portable with the AC adapter and the 18650 battery sled, so why bother?

There are also some fit issues with the adapters. The first set of adapters would NOT screw into my OG back ends at all. They had a hole where the cord came out, instead of a slot, and trying to thread the adapters onto the back ends was difficult. MaxVapor released new adapters with slots, which were much easier to connect. Still, on some back ends the "clip" can partially or even fully obstruct the slot where the cable comes out, making it more difficult to thread the body onto the adapter.

The AC adapters provide a lifeline for the Hopper that can extend its viability beyond the availability of the proprietary battery, however the device can no longer be considered portable with the AC adapter in use.

i am knowing a shop in europe where Batteries are available ;)
Honestly, I didn’t check battery availability on HL’s site but I wouldn’t doubt they’re not in stock like most items. Indeed it’s good to have backup options like you indicated. I’m in the Northeast not that I couldn’t order batteries internationally but I still have a few newer ones among a few older ones that work OK.

It may be time to give my OG titanium some love soon. I use my IO regularly, perhaps too much so. :peace:

Guys i can confirm that at this time HL don't respond to my multiple e-mails.

It seems there is some life @HLabs but not for help or support ......

Max Temp (5) but what you see in the vid is the second and the third draw.

First draw is, as always, less thick.

I was looking for a bubbler that doesn't look like a bubbler on my desktop...

When i remove my metal drip tip and the IO, people dont know what this piece of glass is !

And what do they say about the vapor emanating from you? Assuming you’re in a non-private space, or perhaps not? True it doesn’t look quite conventional - very cool looking.

I never heard back from HL either and won’t bother at this point. I scored a gently used lightly anodized spare body from someone on this thread (who also had a few other spare HL parts too BTW). I got it the end of last week and haven’t cleaned it or tested it yet. ‘Test’ is operative since I’m on a T-break for a bit and not sure when I’ll be back again but not terribly long. :peace:

Thanks Vaporific, of course i use this setup at home, but family and neighbours that came don't notice this as a bubbler.....or they don't told me !!!!!

I have never understand how people can use the IO/Grasshopper directly to the mouth without burning their lips.....totally impossible for me !

I’ve been using Hoppers natively for 5.5 years; rarely with additional cooling. I’m a big native user. I don’t use high temps though. I do find Hoppers have harsher vapor than my other vapes so I do empathize a bit. :peace:
