Tafée Bowle

I love the Bowle. I want a v2 already lol
Yea, a V2 with a decent battery instead of that stupid Tupperware cup that won't even hold coffee or hot tea and proper temp control (even an app to set what you want the temps to be at a pinch) would make it interesting as it sounds like the vapor from it is better than good!

I agree although I think the cup is go get around the vape laws on shipping so I don't know if that will go. But the vapor is excellent. Excuse me as I'm not well but Here's a video of the vapor it hits really well. The V2 should be interesting.

This has to do with the coating on the standard stem wearing off, the machined stem is an alternative. "Benefit" and "worth" seem to depend in this case on user comfort level?
I always assumed it would have brought on better cooling. Knowing it only has aesthetic pros make it less appealing

I have both...
I found pieces of coating, paint, or metal in my weed with both ...
no risk of inhaling it, they say ...

my machined stem is damaged faster at the lug. and for some time now, it has been stuck ... I have a lot of trouble removing it. there is only the lower part of the stem which is treated differently. the upper part is exactly the same as for the original stems. cooling is similar ...

I have a proposal to return my unit to be useful to the company (in relation to the stem which is blocked in the base). I haven't answered it yet.

Honestly ... keep your money ....

I have both too and would say save the money too.
If the entire stem were made of steel, I would say otherwise, I think. To your getting stuck in the stems. I also noticed that the machined stems fit much tighter into the puck and scratch some of the painting off from the puck at some points which my other 3 normal stems does not in the whole past.

The lower part of the stem is not made of steel!
"simply" (ahah ... I still can't quite understand / remember), the lower part is not covered with a coating.

It would be easier to just copy and paste, but I didn't ask them for permission ... so I'm going to abstain.

I had several discussions with them on the coating, on the difference of 3 grams between the two stems, on the particles found in my weed, on the wear of my machined stem ...
They have a speech that is meant to be reassuring. As I mentioned, they are ready to review my unit with the stem ...
From memory, they were transparent about the materials.

It only partially reassured me, but that's very personal.
I rather like their way of interacting with me. They take the time to respond to me in a personalized way.

And for the purchase of machined stem, they wrote to me that it was mainly intended for people who are really worried or picky. They didn't force my hand ...

Anyway ... all that to say that it's not steel ... Sorry, I don't know how to make it short ...

How many vapes are there left on the market with a micro USB charger? With even S&B dropping a short term v2 on the Crafty+ to address that; seems like a second production run would at least contain a USB-C upgrade if they want to remain level with competition.

@Bazinga - probably not your problem, but ... is the red o-ring on your pot?

Once I forgot to replace it after cleaning, and thought Bowle was busted. Without o-ring, pot rim doesn't make good seal with heater's ring
You were correct !!! I must have lost the oring while cleaning the pot. Didn’t realize it at the time. Replaced the oring and am back in business.

Thanks for your help !!!

I was hoping to get a Bowle from Tafee direct, but they have non on hand due to "supply chain issues".
There's a small chance I might get a discount if I wait for them to restock, not sure. I need to keep spending down, if I can.

POTV has the goods on hand. I'm in US, shipping is free from either place. Does POTV offer any codes or 'considerations'?

I think one of my ???'s has to do with a possible improvement in a next run, the next batch Tafee receives. Or will it be same as have been coming through?
And the other question, how long will it be before Tafee restocks...?

I was happy to tamp down all the VAS since Oct when I got a V3Pro, made it through BF and all. But I think my VAS is the long kind.

@vapviking https://vaporific.ca has the bowle on sale right now..... at least I thinks so???? seems like their boxing week sale is continuing????
Done.
Many thanks, @Bad Dog. Shipped to US it worked out to $315.50. Got an extra 5% off for getting on their email list...
I'm lucky(?) they don't stock accessories, or I'd have surely spent more, at least on some more pods!
Actually, I came close to adding some Hopper batteries, then thought, wtf?? One reason I'm getting the Bowle is so I can be done with hoppers!

Now begins one of the most profound parts of the consumer cycle, anticipation.

Last night mine would not provide any heat even at the maximum setting (four lights). Is this user fixable or do I need to contact Tafee?
Yeah I would do. Mine seems to turn itself off sometimes for no reason even with a full battery which is worrying slightly for a new unit I'm unsure whether to contact the reseller or Tafée or if its something I'm doing. Its also not shutting off on auto draw alot of the time.
I am interested in the stubby stem. People seem to prefer that one
I'm also interested in one of these but I'm in the UK so ive no idea where to get one from. I'd like a few spares for it but if I've got to go to Tafée I suppose I will.

I was suprised tbh that it didn't have usb 3 and passthrough. I'm sure they must be working on a V2 but I don't know if it's going to be anytime soon. Its not too much of an issue for me though.

Yay glad it was something and nothing I'll have to remember that for myself!

As for the flaking paint I hadn't really heard about that. I've been checking my bowls and there's no debris in there. Is it after a few uses and do I need to be careful with the ISO with this?

Bad Dog

Yeah I pissed on the rug...... so what
do I need to be careful with the ISO with this?
never use hot iso or hot water to clean the stem. my year old stem still looks mint with no flaking whatsoever and I even get lazy and soak in room temp iso overnight pretty often....... well maybe its not 100% mint, there is a ware mark on it from the locking ball but its never gotten any worse or spread.

What is the reset procedure if my unit puts out no heat?

Green lights will turn on for a few seconds then go back to blue, the heater will not engage no matter what I try...

My 400ml showed TB showed up today. I'll take it on a maiden voyage in about an hour.

Initial impression - the cup is surprisingly cheap feeling. They should have gone with a denser, harder plastic. The plastic grinder that comes with it might do the job - but it also feels incredibly cheap, I'll certainly never use it. Aside from that - no material complaints, it appears to be thoughtfully designed, reasonably ergonomic, and the quality of the components (save for the cup) rival the best in the business (Pax, S&B, etc) - the aluminum body has a "just right" weight to it, and the stem, pots, etc seem to be decent quality. I also bought the upgraded aluminum grinder/potter - and it's an impressive piece of kit. While I haven't used it to grind yet, the machining is solid, the blades looks/feel as though they'll be quite effective, the magnets are the perfect strength, the grinding action is smooth as butter and for $79 - assuming it works as well as it looks/feels, it actually offers a solid value, as it comes with 4 additional ceramic pots, which if bought separately would be $40, so the "cost" of the grinder itself is a mere $39. It may not grind as well as an SCS or the like (will find out soon), but if it does a good enough job and actually gets the herb into the pots effectively without making a mess or needing to clean the grinder each time to get the herb out/through, i'd say this is a well thought out accessory.

So far - the overall package slightly exceeds my expectations around design, build quality, fit/finish, thoughtful design, etc. Looking forward to firing it up shortly - hopefully it performs as well as it looks and feels.

I actually got sent this yesterday as mine is staying green after I've finished pulling.

Here are reset instructions from Tafee's website:

With the Puck Base Unit disconnected from charging, powered on and on standby, Click both the "Fire (LARGE)" and "Power Level Select (SMALL)" buttons simultaneously in rapid succession at least 5 times.Reset is successful if the Puck shuts down and does not power back on, after reset even by "clicking" the "fire" button 3 times in rapid succession or the Puck does not indicate any power no matter the input. If the Puck base unit still indicates any power, then the reset has not been successful, and you must try to reset it again by clicking Both "Fire" and "Power Level" Select rapidly at least 5 times again until Puck Shuts down completely and cannot power back on.Finally, to wake the Puck up, plug the device in to charge for an hour before proceeding to use it. (Only use the supplied cable and charger at all times)After your reset, we ask you to kindly use your device for a day or two alternating between different use styles and methods to confirm you are no longer experiencing the same issue. This could help identify a pattern to the malfunction.
